Enid Mary Blyton (1897–1968) was an English author of children's books.

Born in South London, Blyton was the eldest of three children, and showed an early interest in music and reading. She was educated at St. Christopher's School, Beckenham, and - having decided not to pursue her music - at Ipswich High School, where she trained as a kindergarten teacher. She taught for five years before her 1924 marriage to editor Hugh Pollock, with whom she had two daughters. This marriage ended in divorce, and Blyton remarried in 1943, to surgeon Kenneth Fraser Darrell Waters. She died in 1968, one year after her second husband.

Blyton was a prolific author of children's books, who penned an estimated 800 books over about 40 years. Her stories were often either children's adventure and mystery stories, or fantasies involving magic. Notable series include: The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, The Five Find-Outers, Noddy, The Wishing Chair, Mallory Towers, and St. Clare's.

According to the Index Translationum, Blyton was the fifth most popular author in the world in 2007, coming after Lenin but ahead of Shakespeare.

This story is about 4 children who have adventures by climbing the Faraway Tree. This time they go to the Land of Magic Medicines to look for a cure for their poorly mother. After Rick tries out a medicine that makes him tall he then tries one to make him tiny! They manage to find a medicine from a goblin for their mum which they take to her and it makes her better!

I really liked this book because it was quite funny. It’s easy to read and has good pictures.

I loved Enid Blyton as a kid so was thrilled when I started picking up these early reader editions of the Faraway Tree. Often with the early chapter books Miss 3 just wants to hear them once but we've read 'The Land of Magic Medicines' and 'The Land of Do-As-You-Please' three times each in a week!

Miss 3 and I like to explore different books at the library and try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

Setelah baca the land of goodies, the land of birthday, buku ini yg paling pas semuanya. Ceritanya, konfliknya dan penyelesaiannya. Saran lebih baik beli ini ketimbanga dua buku lainnya yg tadi aku sebutin.

Buku Enid tuh buku yang menemani saya waktu kecil. Membaca ini seperti nostalgia ke masa kecil.

Mama Joe, Beth & Frannie sakit. Mereka kemudian pergi ke Negeri Obat untuk mencari obat untuk sang mama.

Sang mama sempat pusing karena banyak cucian, beruntung ada Nyonya Sukacuci yang hobinya mencuci baju dan gemar menolong.
Aku sangat menyukai cerita petualangan ketiganya bersama Silky, Paras-Bulan, dan Tuan Panci dalam mencari obat untuk sang mama. Sedih bercampur lucu melihat Rick yang meminum obat peninggi badan (dan membuat badannya menjulang tak henti), lalu meminum obat mengecilkan badan (yang membuatnya begitu kecil), lalu menyiapkan rendaman obat agar Rick mini bisa berendam.
Lucuuu, sekaligys mungkin ingin berpesan,"Syukuri tinggi badanmu saat ini" dan juga "Jika tujuannya mencari obat mama, gausah mampir-mampir nyoba-nyoba."

Ilustrasinya sangat berwarna dan jika aku anak kelas 1 SD, sepertinya aku akan membacanya berkali-kali.

Being an illustrator I adore all illustrated books, well not all but definitely books with great illustrations and this is one of them. I like that they've redone the book to accommodate them as well and the design/layout is perfect. The words are easy to read and the drawings make the whole thing fun and visually appealing.

Fysh gives it a thumbs up and asks if we can get more so I'd say this book is a winner.
