We are all unique and that uniqueness often sets us apart from others. I love the innocence of children and how they can so easily look past those things that make us different and become the best of friends. “God Bless My Friends” is a celebration of friendships and the differences that make them wonderful.

“God Bless My Friends” by Hannah C. Hall, is the story of a group playmates of all shapes and sizes that are the best of friends. Each duo is as different as can be. Some are big or small, some are short or tall but it doesn’t matter they cherish the friendships that God has given them, never letting their differences get in the way.

“God Bless My Friends” teaches our children that God sends all different kinds of people into our lives to be our friends. The story helps us explore how our differences can be the very thing that makes us the best of friends. It shows how opposites can work together and how we can all learn from each other. The story ends with sharing the message that God shows his kindness through the friends he send us.

The story is a board book, great for little hands. The font is a perfect size for beginner readers. I love how they have highlighted some of the words on each page to add a little interest and whimsy to the text. There are a few places that the rhyming just doesn’t seem to work, but it didn’t take away from the story.

My children loved the images in the story. My daughter referred to them as adorable. I found the images and colours to be calming, making it a great story to read at bedtime. There are two reoccurring characters on each page a ladybug and bee, can you find them all?

“God Bless My Friends” is a great story to read as you talk to your little one about the way that God shows his love and kindness to us through the friendships that he sends.

"God Bless My Friends" is a board book for young children. According to the publisher, this book is intended to teach "the importance of being a friend to all kinds of people, including ones who are different from them." The interior illustrations are of the same style as the cover and feature those same animals. The book starts, "Whenever I can be with you, / That's when the fun begins. / On days we play, I love to say, / 'God bless my greatest friends!'"

Each page shows different types of animals playing together. Some pages emphasize playing with people different than you: different talents, different heights or sizes, and different physical appearances. The other pages show these different animals helping each other, sharing with each other, cheering each other up, and simply having fun together ("We romp and stomp. We jump and tromp. / With you, I'm never bored!").

The illustrations can prompt further comments on how people can be different yet still enjoy playing together and helping each other. My niece is currently a newborn, but I think she's going to enjoy this book when she's a little older. Overall, I'd recommend this book.

I received this book as a review copy from the publisher through BookLook.

Friends are very important and a true friend is to be treasured for life. This is one of the things I want my daughter to understand from a young age. I talk to her about being nice to friends, how she should share and play with all her friends and not fight with them.

"God Bless My Friends by Hannah C. Hall" is a book about friends and when I read the book to her, I find it easy to talk about friendship and the values it brings to life. The book talks about different animals that are very much different from each other yet are good friends. This is a good way to teach her that no matter how different she is, or the other kid they can still be friends.

Book Resource from the Publisher:
"God Bless My Friends celebrates all kinds of friendships and helps little ones see the value in being a friend. Can a giraffe be friends with a mouse? Would a monkey play with a tiger? No matter if they’re big or small, friends are a gift from God! God Bless My Friends shows some unlikely animal buddies learning important lessons about how our friends can be different than us, how to be kind, how to share, and how to help others."

The book has a nice rhymic flow of words that kids will love to listen or read. And I am sure the kids will also love the cute illustrations of all the animals that the text is about on that page. The illustration is done by Steve Whitlow.

Overall I did like the book, but I found that the quality of the book not to be the very best from Thomas Nelson. The boards are a little thinner than most of the books I have from the publisher also the creases of each page looks like they have lost the color, like when it happens after using a board book for a long time.

I enjoyed reading this book to my grandson. He liked the sweet adorable animals on each page. He liked the fact that the book had a rhythm to it. His favorite animal was the Panda bear he laughed when he saw that there was a duck on his head reading a map guiding them along the way.

My favorite page was the cute pig and raccoon. The words on that page are, “God gave you dark and fluffy hair. He made me pink and curled. You’re not like me, but I stll see My best friend in the world.”

Each page shows two different friends helping one another. On the last page all the animals show up. It’s fun to watch them participate in field day. All kinds of activities are going on. I think my grandson liked that page best of all.

I enjoyed reading this this adorable full color board book to my grandson.

God Bless My Friends, written by Hannah C. Hall and illustrated by Steve Whitlow, is a children’s book showing the importance of friendship. The book points out that even though we have our differences with others, we can still be great friends. The pages feature pairs of unlikely friends (such as a raccoon and a pig) having fun together.

One of the cutest pictures shows a duckling and a panda, carrying a treasure map into enchanting woods. The drawings have a soft and gentle look to them. The book contains twenty pages, and each set of two pages has an illustration and a quatrain of poetry. In all of the poems, the second and fourth verses rhyme. One set of pages showcases the illustration of a giraffe helping a mouse reach an apple, along with the verses, “I need an itty-bitty boost. I’m just a tad too small. But it seems we’re a perfect team[,] ‘Cause you’re a tad too tall!” The poems have a “cutesy” feel.

God Bless My Friends is a board book. The pages are somewhat thin compared to some board books, and they are easy to wipe clean. The dimensions of the book are 8 x .5 x 8 inches.

Children love animals and inside the durable padded board book covers, you'll find a bunny, skunk, monkey, tiger, panda, duck, goat, turtle, giraffe, mouse, pig, and raccoon. The rhyming text points to the fun of having friends and doing things together, like playing ball, jumping and eating together. Very engaging activity for little ones to point to the ladybug and little bee on each page. It's never boring to go on an adventure with someone who is taller or smaller than you. Kindness matters.

5/5 stars. Loved it. Highly recommend. Great, for giving as a gift and for home and Sunday School Library. I received the book from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for my honest review.

I recevied a complimentary copy.

A cute children's book that ryhmes while sharing a great message. It is small enough for younger readers to read outloud for you, or a treat for you to read out loud to them. The illustrations are very nice and easily catches a little one's eye. Teaching kids to play regardless of shape or size is a good lesson.
