A MAN'S WORD "I'll be back, missy, when you're all grown up", laughed arrogant Ashe Brandon to little Tanya Hayes, "and you better be waiting." The rich, carefree rogue hadn't meant a thing he said — until he returned to find the innocent girl had became an irresistible temptress. His fingers burned to caress her perfect curves; his lips thirsted to taste her creamy flesh. Ashe was never the kind of man to ask for what he could take. And he was determined to possess her body and soul!
A WOMAN'S NEED The day he rode off to fight in the Mexican War, blue-eyed Tanya swore she'd save herself for the handsome cowboy. But as the long months passed, the now-voluptuous beauty realized he was just a selfish brute. Then the bold ranger swaggered back into town and Tanya couldn't stop the flush of desire that scorched her from head to toe. The furious vixen couldn't admit she still wanted him. All she could think of was how to break his heart like he had shattered hers — and show him only love could tame a wild TEXAS TIGRESS...
There is no action. no reason to read. It sucks. I am mad i waisted the effort to read it and i wish i would have given when i got bored. which was in the first 50 pages. yes they fell in love...in the first 50 pages... so what.. Where is the conflict... There was one... but it was lame... I cared more about what the secondary characters were up to... (they apparently star in their own book... Which i am scared to read because this one seemed like such a waste of my time. )
There were some good parts where i could not set down the book. but usually when i read these kind of books CAN'T SET IT DOWN!!! but those parts were few and far between.
This was a page turner, Western history, action, adventure and some soap opera all in one! There were times when I wanted to shake the H until his teeth rattled, he seemed to look for trouble where there wasn't any, and talk about mommy issues, though in this case it was with the h's mother, not his! (How could one woman have the power to turn so many men's lives upside down???)
I applaud the h for not being one of those runaways who leave when things get tough, or not to her liking. When she did threaten to do so, she had good reason. But she determined to stick it out and fight for the life she wanted and to get the H to see her as she really was and not let his bad experience in the past color the present and ruin their future. Good for her!
There's a good secondary couple too, the H's brother and the h's sister.
