Terrible
I have read about 20 C.G.Cooper books and although none are written very well they were at least an entertaining diversion. This book, however, was just downright awful. One dimensional characters, a stupid story and so many plot holes that it made no sense. Cooper, you are better than this.

Great book
Fall in love with this author with the first book I read, it was Zimmer Doctrine. He's a great story teller and his characters, like Daniel Briggs you want to hold him like one of your children and tell him "I am very proud of you". This story about soldiers coming back with PTSD, pharmaceutical companies bottom line how to make more money. Mothers sorrows and anguish about the loss of their children. Soldiers with PTSD being used to test the drugs on them.

This is the 3rd book in the series. This takes place before the Corps Justice series.
Our hero is now across to Washington State. He has a stable job which he likes and he’s made some friends. He’s been staying away from the alcohol and feeling better because of it. However, when he stops some thugs from beating up a mother of another vet, he sets things in motion which he doesn’t expect.
The plot is great and I hear of young people taking advantage and beating up vets. This book does a great job in tackling this and also brings in the areas of homelessness of vets and meal vans which have been set up for them. It’s done very well.
The story which goes along with it is much of a shocker with how the author sets about. I liked the person who our hero teams up with and how he backs him up. We also get to know more about the hero’s background and how decorated he was and a small taste of what he went through during his time serving. The storyline in which he finds himself kidnapped, drugged and basically robbed was a shocker.
This book had it all – sadness, shocks, thrills and gives you a great understanding of some of the many workings going on in society today. Big thumbs up to the author on this one!

Until recently, he copes by drinking, although in this book he has put the bottle aside. He also copes by drifting from job to job and place to place, avoiding deep connections.
While in Seattle, working at a fish market, Briggs encounters an elderly woman wandering the streets with an 8x10 photo of her son, a war veteran who disappeared when he returned. Briggs decides to look into the situation and soon discovers that there are a lot of missing veterans and this is part of something much larger then he had ever imagined.
The Daniel Briggs character is reminiscent of Lee Child's Reacher character and fans of Reacher might want to check this series out. I liked the Briggs character but the actual conspiracy that he confronts was too over the top for me. Plus, the plot twists were a little too twisty for me as well.
David Colacci's voice was perfect for Briggs - gravelly, but not over the top.

For me, 'Broken' was the best book in 'A Daniel Briggs Series'. What an emotional roller coaster. Personally I am surrounded by military men and women. Some former and some present. So this story truly hit a nerve for me. I hate that the premise of the story is actually happening today and will, undoubtedly, continue. But man was the storyline awesome. C.G. Cooper continues to amaze me with his words. Full of deceit, thrills, suspense, action, twists and great characters. Daniel has come quite far since books one, 'Adrift'. I love his transformation and his acceptance of a sense of peace. Tanner and Aaron were both great, sort of. I flip flopped my feelings as the book played out. I can't wait to read more. A must add to your tbr list. Recommended.

He is kidnapped and drugged with a new psychotic drug that you think is making you better but isn't. A VS interviewer and a Doctor have developed a drug that will make them millions of they can get it marketed. The trials and tribulations of the corrupt drug market. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

Redemption Comes For Daniel Briggs
In this third installment of Daniel Briggs' travels of life we see him come to a course correction. The Beast that has guided so much of his life and actions has been subdued and Daniel's life has greatly improved. As usual this story has been a great read due to an excellent story and characters that in some ways parallels the life of another warrior in Ty Patterson's books with the main character Zeb Carter. Both lead characters are warriors who have bravely fought for their country and suffered from PTSD. Both are brave and true men of true grit and character.

Daniel Briggs doesn’t stay in one place for too long. He lands in Seattle and meets up with a Vet, Tanner Gray, who recognizes him and things get dicey from there. Daniel runs into a lady, Rose, walking the streets by Pike Place Market looking for her lost or missing son. He tries to ignore her but that just isn’t in his DNA and he decides to help her. What ensues is an attack that almost loses his life. With the “help” from Vets Tanner and his brother Aaron thing go from bad to worse. This was such a good story and there is such a surprising twist at the end that I never saw coming. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it!

Another Great Story about Daniel Briggs!
Daniel Briggs finds himself in Seattle, Washington in hope of finding peace and quiet. Finding a job on the docks working with the fish business and walking the streets at night, and starting to enjoy life.
While on a walk he comes to the rescue of an old lady who is being robed by gang members. As Daniel becomes her friend he promises to find her missing son. This will take so much more than you would think as it involves gangsters, drugs, the VA and more.
Enjoy this adventure with Daniel as all of the twists and turns and will keep you turning pages. I think you will really enjoy this book, I know I did!!

This book took many twists and turns. The culprit is not who you initially think, the good are the good with reasons to do bad things. The book grips you and won't let you go until you are finished reading. I just keep wanting more and more. Evan though Briggs has gone through a lot in his life, he is human with personal struggles and strife. His core remains hopeful in the midst of darkness and bad, bad situations. CG Cooper has a magical writing style. Not in the sense of fairies and the secret forest, but in the sense of adventure, curiosity, human good and battling evil.

Ok. What a confusing plot. Also---the poor vets laying catatonic while their disability payments were being ripped off --- what? Who was changing their diapers? Their food lines? The Grey brothers sound like very stupid marines who were ok with taking advantage of poor vets. NC IS recruits my foot. Tanner just wanted money. Possibly the younger brother was concerned and really trying to take down his brother.. Then the head of a pharmaceutical company being so directly involved with fat thugs. Plot is poorly developed as are the characters.

I've just started to read C. G. Cooper's books (out of order mind you) and I have to say I find them captivating. This is what I refer to as a smooth read, which means the story just flows for me and I can't wait to get to the next sentence/paragraph/chapter. I'm so engrossed that I can read his stuff within 2-3 days. That's a plus for me because it means I can get through a series more easily. Problem is I've bought a number of these books out of order. Guess that means I'll just reread when I start collecting the series!

I Love this series
I am usually a BBC, Sci fi, mystery reader but my Son had served in the Marines and something about the description of what the books were about got my attention. I am now getting ready to read Tested. I just finished the 3rd book Broken. Honestly it is a great series. I have been reading on book every 2 days because I can't put it down. Give this series a chance. Book 2 was one of my favorites.

Wonderful story of justice
He is at peace for now and living the life of a worked who is minding his own business. But when he helps an old woman from some thugs he found himself in underground and illegal use of drugs used on veterans and while he trying to help stop this underground ring he ends up being their victims and is saved by a fellow vet and together they discovered what who is behind all that is going on.

A NEEDED HERO
Having spent a life in a family sprinkled with heroes of the Marine Corps (& Army), I was/am glad to have stumbled across C.G.'s Daniel Briggs. Through the death and gore, Daniel's commitment and struggle for justice and caring for those who have served, provides a hopeful scenario in a time when society (including VA) has more selfish and bureaucratic agendas.... Thsnks, CG! I'll continue & recommend the mission & message of your Corps Justice series...

Cooper gets right to it at the start of the book, just the way I like it. There aren’t a whole host of characters to keep track of too, which is great. I will say that he has a SNAFU in the middle of the book that he expects us to overlook, I guess. This is when he flips your thinking from Aaron to Tanner. Now that I have read it all I don’t remember the SNAFU, how about that. Quite the story. 5

Ultimate Deception
Not until the final chapters did this story with twists and turns that made you wonder what was going on and why... Who was behind the scheme? What was the scheme? Having only partial answers I plodded on until the final confrontation... then it all made sense. Then I saw the whole thing as if looking at a maze from above. All the twists and turns made sense and I felt that satisfied feeling of “It’s going to be alright”.

I have read quite a number of C G Cooper's books and have enjoyed them all immensely. Broken: A Daniel Briggs Novel is no different. The story was suspenseful and kept me guessing what was going to happen next. I can't wait to get started on another C G Cooper bok!

Broken C.G. Cooper
Veterans are being tragically taken advantage of. Their veteran benefits taken. The culprit. A pharmaceutical company with promises of relief, a cure for the emotional and physical trauma they have incurred. Briggs and another Marine both of whom have been duped will correct the situation. Whatever the cost. A truly amazing read! Enjoyed immensely!

FBI, CIA and Politicians

Moving On
Another great read from C. G. Cooper. As predicted in my review of Fallen, Briggs is slowly recovering his humanity. In this, the most complicated plot so far, Briggs seems to be more in control of the "beast". Although he can still remain as unemotional as before. A great read, with more tension and complications than usual. They just get better...

Another winner
Cooper never disappoints. Deeply developed characters are the stories mainstay throughout each new book. Exciting and compelling intrigue is woven into the backdrop of military disciplines forever ingrained into the characters personas. If you like veteran story lines you’ll love this one.

Excellent story
Daniel is in Seattle when helping an old lady turns into a great adventure. Two brothers appear to be some kind of drug Lord and Daniel winds up being captured and drugged. Many twists and turns in this adventure but Daniel does learn how to live harmoniously with the beast. Great reading

Good read.
Enjoyed the whole series. I like when an author goes outside the lines and gives a character from a series a complete back story. Very well done Mr. Cooper. Semper Fidelis

Briggs is just a faceted badass
So much turmoil and complexity. The character development and twisted plot was very intriguing, kept wondering there who the actual bad guys were...good drama

Great series
The character of Daniel Briggs is evolving through the stein a natural way. I’m so glad to see how he has changed. I feel like he’s a real person. Only an outstanding author can achieve that.

Another very good author.
Recently discovered Mr. Cooper and I have already finished 9 of the Corps Justice series and 3 of Daniel Briggs series. I have really enjoyed his writings and hope he continues to put out hit after hit. You will not be disappointed.
