50 Windows to Open and Explore! Come follow Luna and the little puppies on their adventures—and lift the 50 flaps to see what fun things are hiding everywhere you go.
Yay—the rain has stopped, the sun’s come out, and Luna has gathered the puppies to wander round the garden. Together, they visit lots of different spots and see who lives where and what each creature likes to do. At their final stop, something special awaits: a surprise birthday party for Luna, with all their garden friends there to celebrate!
Luna, a Siamese cat, leads some pups around outside and tries to introduce the animals that live in each area, but it is strangely quiet today. Readers can lift the flaps and see if they can figure out what is going on before Luna.
I highly suggest letting an adult open all the flaps in here for the first time. Some have really intricate or small edges which I can see a small child with limited muscle control just ripping off in an attempt to pry it open the first time. The animals and their activities are cute and interesting. Kids should be able to figure out what is going on before Luna does, and make them feel like intrepid little sleuths. And of course, flaps are loads of fun to peek under. Sure to be a hit with animal lovers.
This book is charmingly illustrated and perhaps in French the text is as well, but in this English translation by Margot Channing it is just dull.
The flaps are very difficult to lift. This is a library copy and most of them have had to be reinforced with tape from prior patrons (if they aren't missing entirely). This is not unusual for lift-the-flap, but the extent of it is unusual.
Siamese Cat, Luna, takes a stroll around her garden a notices it is much more quiet than usual. All her friends seem to be busy doing other things. When the reader gets to the end they will see what all of Luna's friends have been busy doing. Interactive book with flaps to lift and look under.
