A writer, a foodie, a gardener, a dog lover and addicted to travel. Also a cynic, which means underneath it all, I'm a romantic still hoping for HEAs.

Another amazing book in the St. Barts series.

Sunny and Sven are finally happy with their lives...with their adorable baby Bliss.
But of course lots of problems are still to overcome for our darlings.
Ghosts from the past: Astrid, a former lover of Svens - living in Oslo, hoping to rekindle their affair once Sven comes back to Norway.
Then there’s Sven’s good friend and colleague Henry, who was already very sick in the last book.
And Sunny still hasn’t mentally healed from Clyde’s attack and that might bring some issues into the marriage.
Lots of problems, but lots of cute and funny and romantic and sexy moments too.

This is such an amazing series. I would love to have a new book to read every month for the rest of time ☺ I wish Hollywood would make a TV show out of it!!

And now I’ll read Brothers of St. Barts ☺ can’t wait to get started!!! ♥

GHOSTS OF ST. BARTS Emme Cross

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre:  Romance,

I’ve loved this series, with seeing how life is working out for Sunny and Sven. Sunny is a fabulous character – she’s the person I want to be, but am not :-( , and she’s changed very little from the person we first met, learned a lot but her nature is still that same loving, understanding, warm and giving person she’s always been. She’s one of those who works hard, and although she’s wealthy she doesn’t just sit back in luxury but carries on working, helping, and looking after everyone in her circle. Given that she meets people and seems to bring them in easily that circle gets ever larger. Meeting her has changed Sven, but he’s had a lot of growing up to do, he’s needed to learn how to look after others, how to blame himself, take the consequences of his actions, whereas before as a top star he was surrounded by those who’d tell him what he wanted to hear, not what he needed to hear. There’s a massive difference.
Anyway after some pretty big hiccups it looks like they are settled, but Emme sets out to show us how though they look perfect from the outside, the events of the past have left scars, traumas and they need to work through them. Its make or break time for them! I really enjoyed this issue, its how life is, we don’t just roll over when things happen but carry memories and get affected in so many different ways and it can strengthen or destroy relationships despite how people feel about each other.
This book is quite short at 127 pages and almost divides into three parts, London, Norway and St Barts. Three very different places but which are joined by events and people. I was hoping for a bit more from Astrid, one of Sven’s university friends still in Norway – she certainly has the potential to be one of those people I love to hate, and adore finding in a story – its kind of brief here though, sort of seed sowing for the next book I hope. I’ve an idea reading the description of that of the way its going to go but of course its fun discovering if I’m right or not – often I think I’ve got it but turn out to be way off base ;-)
Sometimes I feel after the romance and getting together a story has told all we need, and those books that go on are never quite as magical as the first – and sometimes just plain dull, but here there’s still so much between them, so much from the past tragedies and issues that there’s still a lot to tell. Its going to come to some point when I’ve read all I want, even if there are more books but currently I’m still tightly immersed in what’s happening with them and those around them too that I’ve got book six on my kindle just waiting for me to finish writing this review ( I really wanted to get straight on with it but don’t want to muddle the stories so I always make myself wait when I’ve two from same series on the go....hard though in this case !
Its a book that once more made me smile and made me sad, and I really enjoyed reading more from them – I still want to smack Sven at times though when he behaves/thinks in a stupid way, even though I adore him....

Stars: Five, shortish  but hot and fun read, and a great addition to the series.

The entire St. Barts series has been such a whirlwind of events and emotions for Sunny and Sven… and for us as well. The things that this couple have gone through in their time together has been simply amazing. Yet, they have survived together and now have a beautiful precious daughter to love and nurture.

Still the past rarely stays where it belongs for long. The death of a man who had become a vital part of Sven’s life will rock them and bring back painful memories that need to be dealt with.

In previous novels we have heard of the woman in Sven’s past, the one who was closer to him than anyone. Now it’s her time to return and try to rekindle what she and Sven once had.. or at least try.

And it’s once again up to Sunny to find a path through the trauma, the past and hold onto her family no matter what.

I loved returning to St. Barts and Sunny and Sven’s story. Ghost of St. Barts is a powerful tale and the next step in this couple’s journey. Nothing is as it seems on the surface and once more they will fight for their love to remain strong against odds that will seem unsurmountable.

If you are new to this series, I wish I could say to you.. dive right in and enjoy — but I cannot. The St. Barts series follows Sunny and Sven from their beginning and that is how this series needs to be read – from the first onwards. If you don’t you will miss bits and pieces that taken out of context might not seem important, but they are, everything this couple has gone through has brought them to this moment. You would be denying yourself an amazing journey with them if you don’t go back to their beginnings.

Once again Ms Cross has given us an engaging tale of two lovers who seem to constantly have to fight to keep their love intact. And that’s life isn’t it? I would highly recommend Ghosts of St. Barts to anyone who lives a good, detailed and emotionally involved love story. And now I’m off to read the next story in the series.

*I received an e-ARC of Ghosts of St. Barts from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

Great Story Henry had died, who was like a dad to Sven. Sunny also loved him, but things went wrong between Sven and Sunny.
This was another great story. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sunny, her forever sweet and forgiving self, but she does show she has a temper. I loved the ups and downs of this story. The plot and characters were great as usual. I highly recommend it.
