Had I realized this Second Edition was published 15 years ago, I would not have bothered with it. Too many advances in medicine/therapies/etc have occurred so it is too outdated. If you have been suffering with chronic pain a while, already have some knowledge or perhaps are in the medical field, this book is just too basic.
this is the best book I've read so far on trying to manage chronic illness with chronic pain, I recommend it above any book I've tried on fibromyalgia for someone looking to try to find that insane balance of trying to manage chronic pain that refuses to be manageable
Hit the nail on the head in describing many feelings associated with pain. Great, scientifically-backed advice for dealing with pain but also for just improving well-being overall.
