Review rating: 4 stars.

Debut novel by Amelia Whitmore, and I was pleasantly surprised!

While on a flight to Cancun, for her sister's wedding, Emily is seated next to hot football player, Aiden. Upon arrival, she realizes that he is one of the groom's friends, also there for the wedding...Problem solved as she didn't get his number on the plane! Yes!

But there's a few more surprises in store for Emily before finding her happily-every-after ending.

I loved all the characters, especially the interaction between Emily and her brother, Ethan.

Quotes from Game Changer

"Love just has a way of finding you when you aren't expecting it."
Erica, Game Changer

Great story line, funny and emotional at the same time!

Would recommend this for everyone!

***A big thank you to Amelia Whitmore via InstaFreebie for my advanced reader copy of Game Changer for a fair and honest review.

Game Changer is a story about finding love when you least expect it, in the most unexpected places, while sometimes supporting others. I loved this story and all its twists and turns. Let me tell you a little of what Amelia Whitmore showed me in the ARC provided to me, which I in turn purchased for my personal library.

Families, you have to love them, is what they say, right? With that comes doing things you don't always like to do like flying, and siblings, Emily and Ethan take off to Cancun to support their sister Erica in marrying her Mr. Right, Kane. While boarding, the siblings learn they aren't seated together, while upset, Emily has to adjust and prepare.

Along comes Aiden and takes the next seat to Emily. They introduce themselves and include Ethan in their conversations and the three enjoy the trip. Before they know it, the trip is over and they're landing and going their separate ways, or not. Surprise, Aiden is there to stand up in the wedding. Small world.

Over the next few days, Aiden and Emily get a chance to learn more about each other, and despite some family drama, they hit it off well and things move quickly for them. Emily expected a wedding trip and now it's turning into fun and so much more. You know what happens when things are going too well right? I won't go into detail and spoil any fun stuff, just tell you things get WOW.

Come and read about what happens in this GAME CHANGER!

After showing interest on KBoards, I was offered an opportunity for an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.

This is a New Adult Romance

Emily's fear of flying goes out the window when the awesome looking Aiden goes to sit next to her. Later when they discover they are both members of the same wedding party, things start to heat up just a little. Unfortunately a few events force them to cool down. Will something come along and kindle their fire?

This story is told in first person almost like a journal of events then as with most journal life gets in the way and only majorly significant events get recorded. I enjoyed the story overall even though there are a few things that made me blush.

Warning: This book is for a Mature Audience due to Adult Language and somewhat explicit sexual situations.

Wow did i love this story!! Brilliant debut release by Amelia. Who loves an incredible hea? This girl! Emily is a young college student on her way to her sisters wedding. While on the plane she meets a seriously hot guy that just happens to sit next her. Aiden is also on his way to his friends wedding. Emily is not excited about this trip but she is there for her sister. I will not give any spoilers because this i believe is a MUST READ FOR ROMANCE LOVERS. The wedding starts off perfectly. Out of no where, an unexpected guest pops up. After the Wedding, emily and her brother head home. Something horrible happens with Emily and the story just sucks you in deeper and deeper. Will Emily be able to get over her fears and hear Aiden out? So many crazy things happen. Get this incredible journey now.

Wow! What can I say. Emily and Aiden have a love story that's enduring and sweet. He empowers her and that is what she needs it because she seems to be full of insecurities. But then their world is rocked when an ex shows of of Aiden's. Will they be able to see past that? We will see. You have to read.

This is a sweet love story that seems to flow effortless off the pages. It's a sense of freshness reading a touching love story. It had enough twist in it to keep you glued to the pages and humor to bring a smile.

If you're looking for a love story that brings smiles but yet has enough craziness in it to make it exciting, you've come to the right place. Great job Amelia!

It's fun yet sweet and just enough secrets to pull you in! - Nook Books and More Blog

I received an ARC for an honest review. This is the first book I read from this author and I really like it. Emily and Aiden have a sweet and enduring love story. Their love story just flows through the pages effortlessly. It has enough twisted to keep you glued to the story. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down.

I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Game Changer by Amelia Whitmore is about a nineteen-year old girl, Emily, meeting the very handsome, Aiden, and how quickly her life changed. They met unexpectedly at her sister's wedding in Cancun. Sparks flew immediately and the two become very fast friends (and a little more). That is, until a woman claiming that Aiden is the father of her child, and they are engaged to be married.

In deep despair and all sense of lost, Emily rushes back home with a broken heart. Her friends and brother try to cheer her up, but she doesn't want any of it. She would rather be alone in her sadness than pretend to be happy. Will Emily find happiness again?

Game Changer is a book I fairly enjoyed. The story line is interesting and easy to follow. I liked the variety of characters portrayed in the novel and the idea of the story line. My favorite character is Emily's brother, Ethan. I loved his silliness, yet his ability to be comforting when needed.

I did find many scenes rushed throughout the book. For instance, when meeting Aiden and sparks flew, I felt both characters became 'a couple' a little too quickly, but then within a week it all changed. This is hard for me to relate to, and therefore, wasn't sure if I was going to like the book. The ending also was rushed. It seemed the author wanted to make sure she said what she needed to say without taking too long. I wanted to enjoy those last few scenes because they were good, but had a tough time doing so because it seemed more like flashes rather than a continuous story.

I give this book a 3-star rating because of these reasons and recommend for those who like the new adult genre and a quick romance story.

Skipped entire pages, DNF... I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review.

From the get go, the heroine, who was supposedly a brainiac, acted like a child. There were so many things that were wrong in this book. Awkward dialogues, weird time and location changes. The book also suffers from a huge lack of disconnect from the reality of real life.

For one, heroine is supposedly an academic, but doesn't ever seem to go to school or need to study once Aiden comes into her life. She never speaks of school at all.

She had roommates but as the book progresses, they all disappear.

There's ZERO chemistry between the main characters. The sex scenes are unhot.

Dialogue was childish. I felt like I was reading two 13 year old talking to one another.

Aiden never works out or has practices. He's a NFL player who tells a 19 year old girl he loves her from the near get go. I could not yet see how he could love her, he barely knew her. They barely did anything together.

There's no indication of how the heroine supports herself...how she pays rent.

She gets pregnant immediately!!

These are but a few examples of what doesn't stand up in this book.

I'm sorry but this story is pretty bad.

This is a sweet, fast read for someone that likes HEA's. I enjoyed the plot (younger sister that always feels plain next to her older, spoiled sister finds her own Prince Charming but life is never as simple as a fairy tale), and humor and the main character's are likable. So, why only three stars? This is slightly hard to explain without using spoilers but I will try. The story was too rushed and cried out for more time to fully develop. There are incidents that are included to add drama and move the story and characters along in the direction the author envisions, but they come out of left field and I was at times left wondering what just happened. There needed to be more foreshadowing and afterwards there needed to be more time spent wrapping everything up. The author has a style and flow that lends itself well to the written word and I in no way want to discourage her from future projects. I believe this might be her first published book and in that respect, I would like to say good job. I think with more experience, she will find her own way to letting the story have all the time it needs to be fully told in a way that pays the utmost respect not only to the characters but also to her talent. And in giving it this time, I think she will be able to make the leap from likable characters (or not so likable in some cases) to characters that pull much stronger emotions out of the audience. I believe this ability to create a strong emotional connection between one's characters and the audience is one thing that separates a good writer from a great or brilliant writer and I saw flashes of that potential emotional connection in Ms. Whitmore's work. I would love to see her return to this story and these characters once she has more experience under her belt. I think then she will be quite capable of reworking this framework into something I would love to give 5 stars. I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review and I'm glad I took the time to accept the offer. I will gladly place this author on my list of those to watch and I expect great things to come from her and for her in the future.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Well I just feel like I’ve read one gigantic dramatic telenovela.
Where do I start?

I enjoyed a lot the first 30% of the book, even though I felt some of the situations were a bit too rushed at the beginning the narrative and the characters were enough the keep me hooked, I found the situations entertained and funny, the book was fast paced and it had enough of swoon worth moments.

However once we reached the wedding everything started to fall apart. Without really having time to process what was happening we were surrounded by a pregnant ex, an ex-convict rapist, two pregnancies, a bitchy sister and twins. It was all too much! I think the concept of the story was pretty cool and it had a lot of potential but I was overwhelmed by all of that happening and that made the story less believable to me.

Now, our main characters. I liked Emily a lot in the first part of the book, I enjoyed her time with her brother Ethan and she was pretty cool to read but then it was like she turned into a very different character, she became bratty and moody and I didn’t liked the way she treated Aiden a lot of the time. Our main guy on the other hand, well he was my favorite part of the book, he was like a big kid and I just wanted to squeeze myself into the book and hug him.

In conclusion, I think it was entertained, I’m from México so I really liked that the story starts in Cancun (even though in my experiences the only thing you can get in Cancun is a hookup, the romantic in me wants to believe you can find the love of your life there) the love story was pretty cute and I really liked the way everything turned out but like I mentioned there was a lot going on in there and that made it a little bit harder for me.

While on her way to her sisters wedding, Emily meets Aiden on the plane who tells her that he too is heading for his friends wedding. Turns out they're going to the same wedding where they meet up again...... this is their story....
It's a love story for sure, but it's not a smooth or typical boy meets girl and all is well with the world. Far from it....
A surprising visit from an ex of Aiden's tilts Emily's world when "Brittany" announces that not only IS she Aiden' s fiancee', but she's got quite a bomb to drop....... then her world tilts a whole lot more when one of her best friends and roommates, Dylan, turns out to be someone else, as he confronts Emily with his dark declaration and she finds herself in a potentially dangerous situation.
I found myself riveted and captivated as the hits just keep on coming throughout the entire story... I really enjoyed meeting this large cast of well developed characters. Especially Aiden. He is about as sexy and fabulous as a man could be. I admire a man who has no problem shedding tears. And I found Emily's behaviors true to a young lady becoming a woman, struggling to handle the things that the universe threw at her. She had a great support system in her brother, Ethan and best friend, Kira. Her other sibling, Erica, shows what a narcissistic witch she is...
I do recommend this book to 18+ because of the erotic romance scenes, which are just delicious.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review

While not quite as steamy as I would like Amelia takes her readers on a journey of love that starts in a tropical paradise filled with plenty of angst and enough sweetness to give you a tooth ache. Her characters are flawed and at times frustrating but they do grow on you by the end. Emily and Aiden are a young, innocent love that leaves you with a feeling that love can conquer all.

Emily is the epitome of a young woman plagued by insecurities who is completely unaware of her beauty. She has a refreshing sense of humor and a naivete which is characteristic of a little sister that you want to protect. One of my favorite relationships in the book was between Emily the heroine and her brother Ethan, their familial connection warms your heart and makes you laugh from time to time.

Aiden was often over the top with his tenderness and love towards Emily. With his ripped bodied good looks, his personality seemed a little soft but he was still sexy and him and Emily were a good match.

The story was entertaining and packed full of twists and turns and had potential. Would have loved for more steam and alpha male but would be great for readers looking for more sweet with little spice. All in all not a bad debut novel from a new author.

Game changer is a book that i liked despite the rushed story.
Emilia goes to her sister wedding and on the plane she met Aiden a football player. They didnt know that they are on the way to the same wedding. When they met again at the airport, when her sister and her brother in law came to wait for them, the relationship begins and goes well until the ex of Aiden crashes the wedding. Emilia flies back home and she cut Aiden for 2 months, until something happens to her. From this point their relationship is great and they have an unexpected surprise.
I wanted to know more about the characters and i think that was a little bit rushed , i mean Aiden didnt see Emilia for 2 months and when he came he tells her that he loves her. Nonethless i liked the story. Thumbs up Amelia Whitmore.

I received a copy of the book in exchange for a fair review.

I actually quite liked the first half of the book, it was pretty funny and kept my attention. The second half just didn't cut it for me. There was too much stuff going on, like the whole crazy roommate thing and don't even get me started on all the pregnancies. As well I didn't really believe in emily and aidens relationship. Everything happened so fast for them, but i didn't get that whirlwind feeling...

But it's not a bad book or anything and others might enjoy it more than i did.

Game Changer is such a sweet read! It was a little fast paced for my taste, but it was enjoyable.
When I started reading this book, I was sitting in a Starbucks. Not even a few chapters in and I was laughing like an idiot. I'm pretty sure my fellow Starbucks people that day were giving me weird looks because of my goofy smile. That's what this book did to me, made me laugh, a lot. Emily and Aiden are cute together and a recipe for disaster, in the most playful sense if the word!

This was a very interesting read. Definitely New Adult genre as the main character is only 19. There was a lot that happened in the story so when you are done reading you don't feel like anything is unresolved. I will say that towards the end the author provided a lot more details than I needed to read, but some people will really like them if they are at that stage in their lives.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

This book was very likable. It had some twists and turns but nothing shocking. I was not in an emotional upheaval or any angst. It was just a sweet fairly predictable read. Because of the little amount of angst, though, I didn't have a problem putting it down and picking it back up. It was nice to read on lazy Sundays. Not great but not bad...just pretty good enough to read.

I received a copy for an honest review. Emily flies to Cancun for her sister's wedding and meets Aiden on the plane. They separate when they reach their destination but then reconnect at the wedding since Aiden is friend's with the groom. After many trials and tribulations at the wedding. Can Emily and Aiden make it work outside of Cancun? It is a fun book to read.

I only had to read the word football player in the blurb to get intrigued, and I wasn't disappointed, I ended up really liking Aiden and rooting for him to get back into Emily's good graces after what happened at the wedding.

Sweet

This story is just sweet. There really isn't much drama, but the tale unfolds in such a pleasant way and at such a quick pace that it is a joy to read. You have to get past the meddling of a cheating ex, the bitchiness of a jealous sister and an early, unplanned pregnancy, but those are easily handled. No worries.

I would like to start this review by thanking the author and the Goodreads New Adult Book Club for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion and hosting a great giveaway!

“Game Changer” is a contemporary romance novel. It tells the story of Emily, an insecure young woman, and Aiden, a charming football player, who meet on holiday and become inseparable until an unexpected event disturbs their little peace... To describe this book quickly, I would say that it is about how two people overcome hard times when life gets in the way.
This book was all right. It got better as the story advanced but to be honest, I found it a bit average. On the one hand, I liked the fact that Emily was a relatable protagonist (she had insecurities, trust issues, made mistakes, had to deal with family problems etc.) but on the other hand, I feel like the story was way too perfect. I found the way Emily and Aiden met and fell in love unrealistic and the story itself was much too predictable. Furthermore, I think that the book was rushed: it lacked details. I expected more descriptions, and at times I would have enjoyed more dialogue (for example, on the airplane, when the protagonists meet, I would have liked to know what they talked about a bit more). Ultimately, these are the reasons why I only gave this book two stars.
Please understand I am not trying to offend anyone and especially not the author. I know that writing a book is a lot of work and I am just trying to offer constructive criticism. I want to be true: I am not going to lie because this review involves a giveaway.
To conclude, I would recommend “Game Changer” to someone fond of HEAs.
