He graduated from the University of Iowa In 1984 with a B.A. in English. Having enjoyed a career in the community banking space for over three decades, he is today most likely working on a story.

J. Matthew Waters is a talented poet who creates incredible imagery about life in the American midwest.

What an eclectic collection of verse, from Chicago and Texas, Barbados to Delhi, even Stone City, Iowa. Thoughtful and mesmerizing. My favorite is "November."
