Michael This one was a goodie!!! It was short (less than 200 pages), unlike many of H.G's stories, but sweet and concise. I loved the chemistry between Amber and Michael. I adored their connection, their attraction and the angst. I also liked the mystery, the plot, the supporting characters and the whole action this book packed; it was different. The angst was there, too. Fell in love instantly with this book the moment I read the first few paragraphs. It was really gripping.
Amber and Michael fell into instant physical attraction the moment they laid eyes on each other. Something about her eyes that did not showcase any falsehood or pretense; they told only the truth. Her smile was magnificent, inviting and her questions were straight up - no coy flirtations whatsoever. She was beautiful, smart and honest. While quiet, he was splendid, striking and strong. Fate and circumstance brought them together and they couldn't hold off their pull to each other any longer; they slept together. Unbeknownst to Amber, Michael was carrying out a secret mission. He was an under cover who was working for the US government to infiltrate the Arabs. The operation also carried some personal undertaking; he's seeking vengeance against the murder of his wife and daughter.
I very much enjoyed this book! I finished it in one gulp (a few hours). The only thing I would have loved more would be ... to make it longer ... with more twists and turns ... and angst, definitely more angst (I live for angsts!). All in all, a truly delightful and entertaining one. You won't regret it.
This kindle e-book novel is from my Kindle Unlimited account stand alone book.
She is a daughter of a man 🚹 working for the government. He is a lost person of international spy represented. The come together in a political kidnapping case.it all comes to a happy ending 😀.

Amber Larkspur's father is ex-military and a presidential adviser. He has recruited a Russian/Austrian naturalized American/Israeli, Adam Michael Tchartoff to infiltrate the "Death Squad" and rescue 8 Americans being held. Amber gets involved when a 9th and stooge hostage is taken and she witnesses it and is also taken. Not knowing Michael is really working for the U.S., she doesn't know if she should trust him even though they'd become lovers. Eventually it all works out and he rescues them all and finally admits they need each other.
Loved Michael and Amber. He's an undercover assassin who tries to help the government take down a drug dealer, gun runner, human trafficking, worst of the worst. He tries to keep Amber out of a pre-arranged kidnapping, but she's too righteous and tries to stop it necessitating her kidnapping also so she doesn't get killed. She's too hot headed to believe Michael, but she slowly comes around because she's beginning to love him.
4 and a half stars! I have not read a Heather Graham book in a long time and picked this one up because it had a theme I really like. Terrorists, love at first sight, hero is not who he says he is, and kidnapping made for quite an enjoyable read. I hope to read more of her books now since I liked this as much as I did.
The story is very dated. It was probably very popular 24 years ago. The lead female is really annoying and weak at times. She tries to appear sophisticated and independent but cannot carry it off. The lead male is still mourning his deceased wife and child. Women are a necessary evil because he has needs. The ending is predictable.
I just could not care less about Amber or Michael/Adam. They didn’t spark anything romantic or sweet or even sexy. I usually love Heather Graham but this one left me cold. Oh, well every one can’t be a winner
Good suspense thriller, kind of an edge of your seat read. Not quite what I expected, a little low on romance and high on sex. Good read, really enjoyed the ending.
