I would give this an extra half a star if I could. The overall story was cute, but lacked the expected mystery of who fouled up the plan. The female lead was quite annoying as well. Could have been much better.

Normally I love all her books! Not this time. The two characters are both worthless. One is a bully and the other the weakest woman I have ever seen. I am so disappointed.

Normally I am a big fan of Heather Graham. I have read only 3 of her other books but I loved all of them. This book is really well written but I didn't like either of the two main characters, at all. I actually found them both to be extremely annoying.

The heroine in this story was downright unpleasant. Every few pages, she was slapping the hero, threatening him, verbally flaying him, or yelling "I'm going to sue you and the whole United States Navy!" I get that as the surviving parent, she worried over her son, even to an ridiculous degree. I get that she was still grieving, even five years later. I don't get how that gave her the right to be such a b*tch. (She went way beyond shrewish.) A man with half a brain would have given up, even if he loved her, and found himself another woman with a decent personality. Over and over, I found myself sympathizing with poor Mike.

If a book is fun to read, you shouldn't be checking to see how much is left every few minutes. 'Nuff said.

Well ....

I've read a few of Heather's books now. How quickly they fall desperately 'in love' in a the matter of seconds really, against all odds. I suppose that's her style.
