Eve Ryder has made mistakes in life; mistakes which have led her down a path of self-destruction.
With no home, no job, no family and no future, Eve feels ready to end it all. Little does she know that someone else has been watching her – someone who’s placed the value of Eve’s life much higher than she has.
When Eve wakes in an unfamiliar place, surrounded by strange people, she thinks she’s been tossed into a mental facility. But Eve could never dream that the truth will be even harder to believe, and that her whole world is about to be turned on its head.

I never did catch on to the vampire literature craze that swept my generation, and I will admit towards the beginning I groaned and thought 'oh dear'. But this is creative and nuanced, it may have even converted me. I was completely immersed by the world this author has created without resorting to stereotypes, and envy her vivid imagination and creativity. Very excited to read the next instalment :)

This is a lengthy tale and in spots it somewhat lags getting too wordy. The heroine of the day is likable, although bitchy now and then, and the story is definitely something a bit different. I can't find out when book 2 will emerge, so let's hope it's not too far away all I'll no doubt forget all about it...

When will book 2 become available.

Amazingly addictive book. A read from cover to cover in one sitting for me then straight to Amazon looking for the next book.... Supernatural story with female lead and well constructed background and meshing of facts/fiction. Recommend.

With that as a description i was pulled right in .This is a book so worth reading it surprised me .It has twists and turns that i didn't expect and i loved it .
The only thing is when you first start the book it feels over descriptive but as you force your self past the first couple of chapters ,the book is one not to be missed.

come on LeAnne when the next one in this Trilogy........

I’m not sure why but I didn’t feel comfortable with this book right from the start, the whole rationale behind the institute seemed ‘off’. Why turn teenagers, later in the book it says that they don’t turn people younger than 18 but it would appear that this is the age of most of the ‘pupils’. If they are immortal and don’t grow any older, what do they do with hundreds of everlasting eighteen year olds?

Also, although Eve did show some reaction against Sir Alec, was it just a token reaction given that she had spent the previous six months totally dedicating herself to committing suicide?

After the first few chapters, the story revolves around a sort of school for vampires where all that seems to matter are good-looking boys. This seems to be written for pre-teen girls, I am obviously not the target audience for this book.

The Heroine is a Young woman who has survived on the streets for several years, but apparently now she is a vampire she has become a pre-teen as well.

I'm not usually one for vampire stories, but when well written, then even I can be bitten by the bug! The Gray Institute did just that. It is a place that feels hauntingly realistic, where twists and turns leave you racing through the pages. Thankfully, it's a trilogy, so with that knowledge I can rest assured that another visit to the Institute is inevitable.
