The "true confessions" are simply Penthouse Letters-style fantasies about British swingers, with very limited and repetitive scenarios. This certainly isn't any type of investigative report nor a how-to book. It's laughable in spots and gets old very quickly. And every man uses a condom--isn't that amazing? Namely, the book is totally unrealistic.

There are only a couple of pages with any real facts. Some are questionable, such as the claim that swinging started when American fighter pilots during World War II started random partner key exchanges. But most of this is just fantasies fulfillment.

The worst aspect is that this is totally from a female viewpoint--ironic since it's a male author. In order to make swinging stories palatable the writer makes this almost all about partnered females hungering after lots of sex with multiple partners or making love to other women. The idea is given that there are millions of suppressed ladies that are starving to swing and have orgies. There are too many episodes in here of women being rammed by seven men, twelve men, and more, with partners watching happily. You know, totally normal!

Then Lister preaches about how society is horrible in keeping people from swapping partners. "The arguments against swinging are an unavoidable part of our cultural conditioning....but active participants present many strong arguments for their lifestyle." Really? There's nothing in the book that is a legitimate argument to reject monogamy. The main concern--health issues--isn't really addressed and the message that everyone uses condemns is unrealistic.

Lister also repeats the excuse for one couple, "Swinging was more of an addition to a healthy relationship rather than a tonic for one that was failing." So the book is essentially a propaganda piece pushing cheating, polyamory, and promiscuity that all women seem to welcome and love in order to keep their relationships strong. With no negatives given. How ridiculous.

There's also one giant missing piece to this story--while the book is filled with woman-on-woman sex (all called "bisexual"), there's not one thing about men touching other men or having interest in sex with the male side of the couple. In the rare cases where there are two men with one women, the guys don't touch each other. Even the double penetration episodes have the men filling different holes.

So the book isn't truly representative, but instead a way to make us think that married woman are naturally hungry for sex with multiple partners. This is wishful thinking that shows all the wonderful things about sleeping around and almost none of the negativity.

A dangerous and confrontational collection of true life experiences from the swinging world. From doggers to orgy participants to a night in the life of a gangbang girl, Ashley Lister explores and implores the world of alternative lifestyles. It's a very horny and frank book, extremely sexy and lurid. For the utter pervert in us all.
