Getting the book doesn’t make any sense without knowing who Diego is. We don’t. Two stars for the nice drawings.

The consignment store my mother volunteers at got hundreds of these as a donation, so she brought out a couple for the boys.

The book features Diego from the "Go Diego Go" tv series. In this book, he needs to find five animals for his Halloween party. First he describes each animal to let the reader guess what it is. The animals are (spoiler alert) a bat, a wolf, a crocodile, a tarantula and a jaguar. That is one creepy-ass party Diego is having. In fact, I think the story improves if you drop the animal rescue backstory and instead imagine Diego as an eccentric rich kid who feels a need to have a bunch of exotic animals at his party.

The only reason it doesn't fall to one star is my low expectations for kids' books.

This book was to much like the television show for my liking. It wasn't much of a storybook but more of an interactive book. There wasn't much of a story to it, so I used it more to point out things and sight recognition stuff for my 3 year old granddaughter.

How are you supposed to know it’s a maned wolf?!?!?
