The premiere of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse delivered the highest ratings ever for a Playhouse Disney series premiere among Kids 2-5, Girls 2-5, Households, and Total Viewers. Great Christmas story for little ones that are fans of the Mickey Mouse clubhouse show. I would say this is for very little toddlers; all their favorite characters, a simple plot, and just few sentences.
Clubhouse Christmas was written by Susan Amerikaner and illustrated by Loter, Inc. This children’s picturebook is intended to be read by the Nursery age group. No awards were issued. I rated this fun book as a five.
Clubhouse Christmas is about Mickey Mouse and his friends decorating and cooking for their Christmas Day celebration. The main character is Mickey Mouse. His friends are Pluto, Chip & Dale, Donald & Daisy Duck, Goofy, Clarabelle and Minnie Mouse. The setting takes place in the Mickey Mouse clubhouse. The theme is Christmas preparation. The language is simple vocabulary. The story asks questions encouraging toddlers to look for items in the illustrations.
As for the book itself, Clubhouse Christmas is a board book in the shape of a small square book with Mickey Mouse ears on the top. The illustrations are brightly colored and clearly detailed to catch the eye of a toddler. This fun book has cut-outs in some of the board pages to highlight a specific item on the next page. On one page, there is an oven with a cut-out showing cookie baking. On the next page, the cookies are in a jar. The text is white and always located on the green colored part of the illustrations. All of the illustrations are full bleed and cross the gutter.
Overall, Clubhouse Christmas is an excellent board book that encourages toddler participation during the reading. The art of Christmas preparation and family/friends fellowship are displayed. This book teaches toddlers the art of sharing, teamwork, and holiday fun in a safe environment. I would definitely recommend this book to a daycare provider to read around the Christmas season.

My Review: This was the perfect book to kick off our own little advent celebrations in our house (Munchkin gets a new Christmas themed book or craft each day). Mickey and his friends were decorating the tree, it went along with our own decorating. Munchkin loved being able to identify his favorite characters as well as the events that were taking place.
