If I wanted to cook I would. I have the same problem with this book as so many others of the slow cooker variety. I do not want to have to cook before I cook. I don't mind say fry up some hamburger/drain & add. But when it comes to melting butter, flouring cubed meat, then add onions, garlic, & shrooms, and then pour over potatoes and vegetables already in cooker, and then in 2 hours turn from high to low, and then 1 hour before finish add... Get my meaning? As for making sauces or margaritas in my slow cooker? Not interested. Don't get me wrong I'd love a cheese dip or fondue but mainly I want dinner. I want to dump a bunch of stuff in a pot, go to work and come home to dinner. If I wanted to cook I would.
