WOULD GIVING IN TO THEIR ATTRACTION BRING CLOSURE...OR COMPLICATE AN UNPREDICTABLE FUTURE?

It might have been four years since Detective Daniel Cardenas had last seen Addy Torres, but she'd never been far from his thoughts...or his fantasies. Then, as a vicious stalker's latest target, the stunning recluse needed the relentless protection only Daniel could provide. But the more Addy turned to his strong arms seeking safety, the more he wanted to ease her pain and give her the release they'd both craved for far too long. As he watched and waited for a killer to make his next move, Daniel fought every urge and kept his hands to himself.

Until one fateful night changed everything....

4 years ago, Adriana Torres lost her fiancé in a confrontation with a serial killer. She's not stopped mourning the death of her beloved, and lives in fear and frustration of the yearly "messages" left pinned to her house via hunting knife, by malicious teen copy-cats of the serial killer. Suddenly, things have escalated, with a new murder that mimics the acts of a killer who they thought was dead. Daniel Cardenas was a friend and coworker of Addy's fiancé, and he feels responsible to stop the copy-cat who threatens Addy's safety and sanity.

Love story ensues...... Happily ever after.

Addy and Daniel were so easy to care about and even to love. I enjoyed every minute of this book.

It was above my expectations. Usually, I don't like Harlequin books because they are too simple and undeveloped. And of course in I'll Be Watching You the story is still undeveloped but it has a potential.

The best part of this book is not the romance part which is actually quite stereotypical insta love but the suspense. It's a pity this quite nice serial killer idea isn't fully exploited. With a few more twists it could make a really interesting suspense or even a psychological thriller. Really, the author should think about branching out.

Unfortunately, it is a category romance with some obvious romance part and a bit undeveloped characters. I would give it 2.5 stars and recommend it to those how like a bit of good suspense in their category romances.

I'm very surprised that this author has very little reviews for her books and it did make me a little hesitant on buying them at first but I decided to chance it anyway. I guess sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and hope for the best. Surprisingly, I liked this book, like, really liked it, and I'm glad I bought it. Don't get me wrong, there are certainly books I've loved a lot more but for a book written by a very low profile author who doesn't really advertise or promote herself, it was pretty good. I liked her creativity that she put in the book. I especially liked the concept of the game she threw in. It was different and not something you see in your everyday romantic suspense novels. Her characters were not only likable and interesting to me, but the romance that developed between them was just enough to balance with the mystery of the story so there wasn't too much of one that overshadowed the other. It kept my attention till the end and delivered a worthy ending that left me feeling satisfied and content without feeling like there was more to be said.

Daniel was an excellent example of what I like to see in men. He held back his own feelings out of respect for Addy and a man he considered his friend and mentor. He didn't throw himself all over her and into her life even though he wanted to be more with her. He let her make the choice in taking their relationship further and after he was given the okay, he went after what he wanted and subtly hinted to her in the nicest way that she needed to be on the same page as him if they were to start something. I loved that about him. He took her feelings into consideration and didn't hold a grudge against her for possibly having second thoughts. He treated her with respect and didn't expect her to automatically stop feeling any leftover love for James, he just wanted to make sure he wasn't a replacement and that he was her choice, the first now in her heart. The way this subject was dealt with was classy and respectful to a dead almost husband. I normally don't go for romances that include a dead spouse/romantic partner on either character because they're too angsty where I feel like the one alive could never compete with the one dead or would always be the second in his heart because the first is never coming back. I didn't feel that in this book and I liked seeing how real the author portrayed grief years later and the inner turmoil one has with moving on to someone else.

Addy was a joy to read and such a nice change for me recently when all I've read lately is selfish, idiotic heroines. There was one moment where I was yelling at her in my head but when I thought about it rationally afterwards it made sense that you freeze up and stop thinking straight when you panic, so I was able to let it go. Other than that, she was great. I loved how she dealt with situations thrown upon her, it was with common decency. She really thought things through before she spoke and did it with care to not hurt anyone's feelings and proved that she was an all-around genuine, sincere person with everyone. She was very giving and didn't play with a man's feelings which I loved as proven with both Stan and Daniel. Her gift to Daniel was a nice touch and very fitting to show him that he came first in her life now.

I will totally be reading this book again many times. I only wish it was longer so we could see more of the romance between Daniel and Addy. It's ok as is but I think if the book was extended to add in more scenes with them connecting and adding some more spice like the first time they kissed would make it even better. Another thing that stood out and I liked was that they were both Hispanic, usually we only get one or the other but never both. I liked that they were both and had hoped to see more Spanish dialogue in the story but I appreciated what we got regardless. It seemed a lot shorter than I expected it to be but the chemistry between them was there and had potential to be drawn out but it seems the author wanted to showcase the romance in the first half and the suspense in the second half which was still good anyway. This is more just a reader being greedy. I will most definitely read her other books as well at some point and I hope the author will decide to write more books like this in the future in a full length novel.

This read more like a mystery/thriller than a typical romance novel. The story was suspenseful and had me intrigued.
