Silver Soul #1

Not Quite Juliet

Rate this book
One fateful night, by the grace of beer and peanuts...

Morgan Kirkbride--the self-professed super fangirl of Silver Soul—
falls for the sexy rock god, Nick D.

Literally.

Lands on her ass right in front of him.

Morgan is sure the lead singer of Silver Soul thought she was a graceless flake, but instead asks her to a midnight diner and winds up back at her place. She’s sure it’s just a crazy one-night fling…

Imagine her shock when the very next Monday at Allegheny County Courthouse, the highly respected, well-credentialed chemist Dr. Nicholas Dovadsky is called as a witness — and Morgan recognizes him as the rock god who rocked her bed. Sparks fly between them and Nick doesn’t intend for anything or anyone to stop him from getting to know the spunky, curvaceous, if clumsy, woman.

But things get complicated - fast. When an ex-boyfriend returns to haunt Morgan and her roommate, no one takes him seriously. When the simple threats become violent, perverse and horrifying, they realize someone is out to get her... and they aren’t going to stop until they do.

Not Quite Juliet by Katherine Rhodes
Morgan & Nick
STOCK THE PANTRY WITH SEX WHEATIES!

This was a truly good read! It's has the perfect mixture of humor, sex appeal, and grit. It's not exactly a "Rocker" book, but it has that type of element in it. It's so much more and will have you wrapped in knots a few times!

Morgan is our heroine and she's absolutely breathtaking. She's a ordinary girl with curves that go on forever. I like that about her. It's nice to read about an actual character that somewhat resembles it's reader! She's working as a per diem court clerk and moonlights as a bartender at Club Imperial. One day she'll be the best damn judge! She's a self professed "Fangirl" of the band Silver Souls so when she meets and sleeps with Nick D, the band's lead singer, of course she's convinced she'll never see him again... until... he shows up in her courtroom the next day!

Nick is all kinds of awesome-sauce! He's a rocker, a professor, and a sexy hunka alpha cake! He wants Morgan in more ways than one, but he's struggling with trying to convince her how perfect she is for him. There are a few people dead set on putting her down and making her feel in inadequate, but I think Nick's got other ideas!

The supporting character cast is pretty good... The other guys in the band are mostly supportive of Nick and Morgan while one asspipe seems to constantly be a dick. Morgan's friends are great. Even that dummie Lisa cracks me up!

All in all the books was a fun, sexy read! It's was effortless to read and the pacing flowed with efficiency and felt very natural. This book will make you giggle, sob, and it will definitely melt your panties!

Loved Morgan. Fiercely intelligent, sexy, curvy woman. Her ambitions are to become a judge.
Yes she works at Club Imperial but as a bartender so it doesn't go as far with the BDSM aspects, not that I mind, i really don't.
Then there was Nick D, who is also a chemist. Oh man is he sex on a stick.
Sexy, the man can sing, hot as hell, and smart. I love a hot geek, especially one in a band.
They both have painful pasts, but they can get through it? I won't say anymore, you need to read to find out.

This was the first book I read by Katherine Rhodes and it did not disappoint.

Morgan is our lead and she's smart and sassy as hell. She's going to school to one day hopefully become a judge. That's her professional side. Her personal side, she's a bartender at Club Imperial. One night her friend drags her to a different bar. One where her crush just happens to sing in his band.

She never thought Nick D. would notice her. She's not the typical stick thin groupie, yet he sees her. He's seen her for a while now, but never made a move. Their first interaction is embarrassing, however it's also the start of something amazing. Life's not that easy, though. Someone is stalking Morgan and not letting up.

This book was great. The character development was perfect, the story was evenly paced. It all flowed wonderfully. I loved Morgan and how she handled herself. Nick was a hot rocker, but was very down to earth. If you haven't read the series this was spun-off from, don't worry. You'll have no problem understanding everything that's going on. I can't wait for book two in the series.

Morgan Kirkbride, a woman with a double life. Court Clerk by day, Bartender of a BDSM Club by night. Self-Professed super fangirl of Silver Soul, Morgan had fallen for Nick D. the sexy rock God, literatery and figuratively speaking.

Dr. Nicholas Dovadsky was a highly respected, well-credentialed chemist with a double life. Dr. Dovadsky turnes to Nick D. The Sexy Rock God, everyone dreams about.

After Morgan had a one night stand with Nick, she thought that was the last time she seem or hear from him, oh was she so wrong.
Nick came coming back to Morgan, this beautiful woman, his B.B.W.
He realizes there is something missing in his life and that is Morgan.
Can Morgan have a peaceful relationship with Nick after everything she's been thru?

I love how this book. I was so happy to read a story where the leading lady was not your typical size 2. I also was taken how Nick was so into Morgan.

Thank you Katherine for writing books with B.B.W as their leading ladies.

I recommend for you to read this book.

Sex doesn’t stop at size 12

I love that this book is about a woman, Morgan, who is larger than average. I love that she has generous boobs and they move jiggle. I love that it is discussed that it is hard to buy underwear on the high street when you have big boobs. I love that it doesn’t shy away from saying that some men REALLY like big natural boobs and that big women like to have sex as much as their thinner counterparts.

This is a book about an intelligent woman who knows her own mind and works behind the bar of a BDSM club. She has dabbled in the lifestyle but realised that it wasn’t for her. She still loves the people at the club who are very happy in the lifestyle, they are her friends and are accepting and loving. Morgan is also in her last year of law school, so works at the courthouse part time.

Morgan has had some difficulties in her past, but they haven’t stopped her from doing her best to enjoy life and move forward. It has stopped her from meeting someone new through lack of trust and lack of time. That changes at the start of the book when she meets the lead singer from her favourite local rock band and they fall immediately in lust.

This book is complex and interesting. It is also hot and steamy, but in a realistic way. I love how the characters slowly reveal themselves to each other and the plot gradually unravels. It’s a great book.

I really enjoyed this. Read it straight through. Shout out to the size 18 wearing girls who can still turn heads and get down with the best of them. I loved that Morgan was real and got upset that she couldnt just shop in the mall. I did get a little annoyed that didnt completely own her sexiness and thats why I took a star away. The characters were fun and the storyline was hot. Plus there was a little mystery.

“Not Quite Juliet (Club Imperial Series – Silver Soul Book 1”
by Katherine Rhodes
5 out of 5 stars

Love, sex…mystery, intrigue…a sneak peak at the BDSM lifestyle! All of those things and more await you in the pages of Katherine Rhodes’ “Not Quite Juliet”. Clear your schedule and settle in with a book you won’t want to put down!

Morgan is a bit of a contradiction. In certain settings she’s very secure in who she is and what she wants. Other times she berates herself for not fitting the perfect body image she thinks the world expects. I love how real she is. Most female protagonists, especially in the BDSM world, are thin or slightly curvy. Morgan is neither. She’s a size 18 and very much built like an everyday woman…and guess what!!! A super hot guy finds her amazingly sexy! It’s so refreshing to read a story about a woman who I can actually identify with, whose insecurities I share, and who isn’t afraid to unleash her inner sexy! Mad kudos to Rhodes for creating a character worthy of investing my time in!!

Nick, her crush from the band Silver Soul, is the guy every girl dreams about. He’s smart, funny, smoking hot, and completely at ease with all of it. He knows what he wants and he is not afraid to go get it. He’s comfortable in his own skin and brings that out in everyone he comes into contact with. I could totally understand why Morgan was crazy about his lyrics and the intensity he brought to his music. I found myself wishing I could pop in the Silver Soul CD and experience it myself!

This story has hints of the BDSM lifestyle and it was a little bit educational. Rhodes has chosen to focus on the “behind the scenes” of it all and in doing so allows us to see the emotional side of these encounters. She balances the sexiness well with a mystery that strengthens the plot and keeps the reader on their toes. The story flows well and Rhodes excels at pulling you in and keeping you invested in every chapter.

I’m looking forward to the next book in this series and seeing where she takes this great cast of characters next. I would definitely recommend this book. Don’t be afraid of the BDSM bits…it’s very gentle! At the heart of this book lies a great love story and you won’t be sorry for clicking the BUY button!!

Ugh! Shut your face! I loved it!

LOL! I know weird intro, right?!

Seriously, there wasn't a second of Not Quite Juliet that I didn't love. I really fell for Katherine Rhodes with the first two Club Imperial books, but I'm even more attached now! She really knows how to get you hook-line-and sinker into her world of erotica.

I will admit one thing...as a plus size woman myself (and damn well not ashamed!), I have a very hard time reading about the heroine being a plus size woman. I know I'm awful for thinking that, and maybe it's because I've lived the insecurities and I don't want to have to read the same type of thoughts I've thought about myself...you're not sexy enough, you're not ever going to be a size two. Or maybe I just like confidence of the average hot and attractive heroines in other books. I don't know the exact reason, but I've never enjoyed a book that had this set up before (and that even includes one of my all time favorite author, Sherrilyn Kenyon's book where there's a plus sized woman heroine.)

BUT...having said that...Morgan was a breath of fresh-air! Though she had thoughts here and there, this book wasn't CONSUMED with it! She proves she's a normal curvy woman without drowning us with sorrow about it! She speaks of eating a snickers at her desk for lunch once, instead of being ashamed to admit that to someone or saying something about skipping meals to lose weight! She accepts who she is and people be damned! I just loved it!

Fantastic story line! Who wouldn't love to experience love with their long-time rocker-god star dream guy! I've already become so attached to all the Club Imperial characters and can't wait until the next one!!

On a side note because I'm a lover of book cover art, I really hope this cover get's a makeover to look more like the Consensual or Broken Bonds.

What a great beginning of a series!

Lisa and Morgan are roommates. Lisa is a submissive and is fed up with her "sir" aka Dominic. He doesn't treat her nicely and left...yes left, her hanging (literally) at the club to go be with someone else! Morgan tells her she needs to get rid of him because who forgets they have a person hanging!!

Morgan works two jobs and goes to school. She works the bar at Club Imperial and her full time job as per diem court clerk. She's a curvy girl and oh my the insults guys call her at the bar! Luckily her boss takes up for her. She attends a concert for her favorite band Silver Soul, she's such a fan of Nick D!! The bar is full and she helps out behind the bar and who comes up to the bar but Nick D!! Morgan and all her gracefulness falls!! Apparently Nick D likes curvy girls because they wind up having sex!

Nick is a Dr. by day and a rocker by night!! He wanted to meet Morgan and arranged for it to happen. Him sleeping with her was a bonus! He's such a great guy! The morning after he leaves her a rose, albeit a silk one, and a note. He actually wants to see her again!!

This book has it all! There's mystery, humor, sex and characters that you can totally relate to! It's nice to see an author occasionally have the heroine as a curvy girl, not a thin, model type. It just makes the story more believable! This was my first Katherine Rhodes book and I look forward to reading more by her, specifically book 2 in this series!!

Morgan has left a bad situation in Wisconsin and came to Pittsburgh to start a new life which includes becoming a judge. She finally gets to meet Nick D, her favorite rocker, at a local bar. Imagine her surprise when Nick D turns out to be a doctor who has been called to testify in a murder trial that she is clerking. Their attraction grows but their pasts interfere with their romance.

I loved Morgan and Nick. They are realistic. Neither wants to expose their pasts but once they do they are able to help each other move on with their lives. Their relationship is bumpy but each is able to communicate with the other. The sex is hot! I liked how Morgan's sense of justice is what led her to want to become a lawyer and judge. She is not afraid of hard work. I enjoyed how Nick's band was not looking to become more than a local band who enjoyed making music by night but loved their day jobs as much.

There are a large cast of characters between the band, Club Imperial, and the friends. There is a lot of interaction between these people. The secondary characters are good. Since this is the first book in the series, I know many of them will get their own books. I want to see where they go and with whom they fall in love. The ladies are strong women who will get the one they want; I have no doubt.

The story is realistic. The past is interwoven with the present so we get the story at the same time as the characters. I got my HEA in several ways here. I am looking forward to more HEAs for the others.

Oh boy just by the title I thought this book might be a little sappy but it was far from it. I really love Katherine's books and this one is no exception . Morgan bar tends at Club Imperial a BDSM club a few times a week and is a court clerk and student the rest of the time. Nick is a hot as hell rocker with Silver Soul and also a evidence Doctor during the day. When Nick and Morgan meet up they agree on a second date to learn each other's last name but when they meet eye to eye in the courtroom before their second date they both know each other's last name. Morgan has dabbled a bit in the BDSM world but didn't want to go hole hog she has a roommate who is a submissive but her Dom keeps doing cruel things to her. Morgan being a size 18 has a problem with her weight but Nick doesn't see that he just sees a lot of woman to hold on too. Morgan and her roommate are being stalked by someone and they think it's Lisa's old Dom because they threw him out. Nicks band mate Dave is kind of a jerk and calls Morgan fat whenever he gets the chance and he is always trying to push girls on Nick. Morgan has run from her home nine years ago and Nick has a few stories of his own he hasn't shared yet and boy the two of them and the love that is growing will be tested. You hope for the entire book that they both are able to settle things and be together but they have to go through a lot to get there but I loved reading it.

Unexpectedly Awesome!

WELL! This was a totally unexpected surprise. This story and a little bit of everything with an amazing cast of characters. I loved Morgan. LOVED HER! She's plus sized, knows it and totally owns it. I wish everyone with body image issues could have her outlook. And Nick. I adored him and the fact that he saw Morgan for who she was and not what she looked like. This world needs more Nick's. The story itself was totally original. Yes, Morgan bartender at a BDSM club, but that all she does. It's not her kink. She's going to be a kicka$$ lawyer. I'm SO looking forward to more books in this series. Both Nick and Morgan had amazing friends who I want to know more about. I hope Lisa's story is next! The snark and banter in this book is top notch and I found myself asking and laughing out loud more times than I can count. The blurb that got me to buy the book was good, but the story itself is SO much more. I'm so glad I gave it a try. I loved it.

Not Quite Juliet (Club Imperial – Silver Soul Book 1)by Katherine Rhodes was given to me for an honest review and I loved it can’t wait to read the other books in the series. The characters are very well developed and even though this is Nick and Morgan’s story you still learn about the other people which draw you in to what to read the next books to see what happened to them as well. Nick is wonderful person sexy rock god and chemist who knows what he wants but who has a bit of a troubled past with women. Morgan is such a contradiction at times that you can’t help but love her. She is so confident in her sexual preferences and her schooling but yet she gets hung up on her weight and things from her past. Nick and Morgan are hot together and can’t keep their hands to themselves this is a very hot book definitely 5 stars.

I really liked this story. But the book was awful. Riddled with errors, it needs a good round of editing. If edited, this could certainly be a 4 or 5 star book! I enjoyed the chemistry between Morgan and Nick. It was fun, flirty, interesting.
"Are you laughing at me?"
"Morgan, we punctured my waterbed with sex shoes,"
The interaction between the two was well layed out. It was a fun read that held me captive. There were just too many errors to look past in the editing.

I really enjoyed this book. It kept my attention and had me excited to keep reading.

I thought Morgan was a great character. She was funny, and strong, and an awesome friend. She really caught my attention and had me wanting to find out her back story and more about her.

Nick was amazing and I thought he was exactly what she needed and I enjoyed the many sides of him.

They have off the charts chemistry and great story to go with them. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more

Ok, this story. Wow. I love Romcons that are so good and unique. This had me hooked right from the get go. Don't let the storyline scare you, because this is so well written and exceptionally told. Love to read that not all the characters sleep around, even though their "job" gives them every opportunity to go that route. Loved the sincerity & the friendships in all of the characters. Can't wait to read book 2.

This is a rivetting story. It's like an amazing cake, great quality ingredients, a great recipe, (previous books from author) twists and turns in the plot, laughter, gasps, that keep the reader engrossed, and turning pages, wanting more. Just like cake!!! this one though is a little spicy, (yeah) thoroughly enjoyed it, so much so I'm off to read the previous books in the consensual series!!!
