Charly Poisson is a delightful character. The author improved her mystery technique this time by keeping us out of the murder scene, but the perpetrator was still no mystery, even for me. A light, even read with many wonderful French recipes at the end of each chapter. This book still has not a whisper of romance, but does dip its toes into domestic violence, by suggestion. A very mild, easy read without any surprises.
I enjoyed this mystery. It was a little heavy on the descriptions of the food but that's to be expected when the main character is a chef. At first, I wasn't too fond of the chef but he grew on me. I thought he was a bit reminiscent of Hercule Poirot.
