Praise for the original Fate/Zero manga: "It has dynamic, multifaceted characters, explores great philosophies and themes, and tops it off with large helpings of action. It also has the will to go deep into dark, psychological territory to improve both its characters and story." -Kotaku
"As both a standalone project and a prequel, the series is an unqualified success." -Anime News Network
"The time and effort that Urobuchi puts into the majority of the characters. Motivations are explored and contrasted, relationships grow and are expanded upon and all this gives the superb action context and meaning." -T.H.E.M. Anime Reviews

I'm really enjoying this series but will say that this particular one took a creepy turn that I wasn't expecting. However, despite the gross factor, I am still wanting to see how this continues.
Wow - that's a hell of a thing. Decidedly not for kids - at all. Contains one of the most extreme single pages I've seen in my 35+ years of reading comics... I just kind of stared at it, laughing uneasily, for about 30 minutes before I was able to read on. Besides that, the story is pretty good, and the quest for the Holy Grail continues with all the complications and confusions likely to arise.
When the manga is more brutal than the anime . . .
and of course anything having to do with Sakura hits me hard. This was a tough volume, and the next one isn't going to be any easier. Such a brilliant story.
Starts off with some action, then delves into a fair bit of backstory. Some of which takes a turn for the 'fucked up' ~ explains why this particular volume was wrapped in shrink-wrap...
Not nearly enough Saber, but she was back in that cute all-black suit, so that was a plus.
