Modern Carpentry by R.Jack Jones, Willis H. Wagner, Howard Bud Smith, and Mark W. Huth is a non-fiction textbook about the basics of carpentry that was published January 22, 2021. It is set in the modern day where carpenters talk about the basics of carpentry like basic safety equipment to more experienced carpentry work like finish work. Also the book tells you what it is like to work on a real job site and how to be safe, as well as tells you about how everything works and goes together. Modern Carpentry also talks about what it's like to run a company in the carpentry business and more about a career in carpentry.
Modern Carpentry is a great book to read if you are looking to enter the carpentry business. It describes every chapter with great detail so you can understand all of the rules and regulations of whatever your building. Also Modern carpentry is a good book for beginner carpenters because it goes into detail a bit about the job situation, the benefits of self employment, and percentages of what types of carpentry people work in. The Text book could go more into depth about running a carpentry business and how to succeed in the carpentry field but overall it’s a great book to read if you are thinking about or starting to go into the carpentry field.
