So before I say anything, let me just tell you now....
I am moving this Friday.
As in the big "official" move with all the moving trucks, etc.
And I work graveyards the next two nights.
And I'm OCD.
Which means I will be getting a negligible amount of sleep during the days I am supposed to be sleeping.
Because, like I said...OC-fucking-D.
So there will be some major pre-move scrubbery afoot in these parts instead of slumber.
Also, being that I'm already tired...
Low on time...
And officially allergic to the smell of cardboard...
This review is going to totally suck major donkey balls.
But anymailforwarding, this book.
Lucas and Yulia are one of my all-time favorite books couples. I fell in LUST with them during the Twist Me series...and then in LOVE with them during this series two previous books.
Saying that this was one of my most highly anticipated reads of the year so far would be a massive understatement.
And thank fuck this thing was as good as I wanted it to be.
So many times, a book you are SO looking forward to ends up blowing huge chunks.
I like to refer to this phenomenon as the "Wild and Free Effect."
Because, well...
But anygrudge, as I was saying...
This book was a great continuation and conclusion to a wonderful series.
There were some twists and turns that I wasn't expecting and I really enjoyed the epilogue as well.
Truly, this was a really awesome close to Lucas and Yulia's crazy twisted romance.
This book concludes the 'Capture Me' trilogy. In many ways, it wasn't what I expected. Instead, I found myself pleased at the surprisingly heartwarming turn that this story took. What started off as dark and vengeful, quickly morphed into sweet and tender. I didn't see it coming, but it worked for this story.
Picking up right where the second book left off, Yulia is on the run. Lucas is in the States with Julian and Nora, trying to organize a search effort from afar. When he returns to the jungle compound, finding Yulia is his first priority. He is determined to get Yulia back and make her pay for deceiving him.
Back in her home country, Yulia undergoes repeated interrogations by her agency. After fighting so hard to get back to her younger brother, she finds herself having to defend herself against allegations of being a double-agent. She knows that she doesn't want this life any longer, but she is unwilling to do anything that might jeopardize Misha's safety.
One thing leads to another and Yulia's entire world is turned upside down. Nothing is as she was told it was. The betrayal runs deep and there is no coming back for her. All of her efforts to protect her brother were for nothing.
When Lucas tracks Yulia down, he discovers Misha's true identity. Returning Yulia to the compound, little brother in-tow, Lucas is determined to air everything between the two. He realizes that his jealous rages at the thought of Yulia having another lover may have pushed her to run away from him.
Slowly, relationships begin to mend. Yulia has a lot of work to do to reconnect with her younger brother, who has been turned against her by the agency. Lucas and Yulia fall back into a pattern of domestic bliss, but Yulia must overcome her insecurities. She still fears that Lucas will grow tired of her and then she and her brother will be in danger.
Eventually, everything works out. I loved the sweet nature of their story. After the way the second book ended, I was sure that this one would be the darkest, as Lucas took his revenge in Yulia's flesh. It didn't work out that way. This book was tender and heartwarming.
Overall, I loved this final book in Lucas and Yulia's story. Everything didn't play out the way I had envisioned, but it was perfect. I loved it!
The final book of Capture me trilogy is bloody fantastic!!! I've read the book in one day and believe me that was a huge mistake, because now all that I can think about is when's the next book coming out?!!! I want more!!! The plot s just amazing, you get action, betrayal, love and so much more!!! Who knows, maybe we'll get more of Rosa's story, since there was a little hint in Claim Me that could have the potential to become the new plotline. Guess we'll wait and see. :)
I love the previous two books and Claim Me is no exception to how great Anna's storytelling is. Lucas and Yulia have to overcome so much, it really broke my heart. But at least the huge misunderstanding between them gets resolved, thankfully quite quick, and I couldn't be happier about how their story unfolded.
Yuila is definitely one of my favourite characters in this story. She has so much passion for the ones she loves and she would really do anything, even risk her life, to protect them. In the end, that's exactly what happens. She goes from one prison to another. But this time this is a real cruel and terrifying prison where there are no soft words or heated touches that make her forget her imprisonment. Only terror and fear rule her new word. What she believed to be true for so many years turns out to be a big lie that almost shatters her. All her life she was dedicated to only one person, that is her brother and now the sad truth is, he doesn't even know what to make out of her, the stranger that says to be his long lost sister.
Now, as far as Lucas goes, man he really grew on me. At first he was full of rage, jealousy and betrayal but now he's turned into someone Yulia can actually rely on. He learned to see past the first impressions and started to follow his heart and not only is brain. I loved his POV and how he stood up to Julian. I admit, Julian will always be my Nr. one but Lucas comes very close. Also, in all that heavy atmosphere he and Yulia found space to have fun and time to really get to know and to trust each other.
All in all, I have a new addition to my fav shelf and I seriously can't wait for the next Anna Zaires book!!! :)
I still prefer Julian and Nora; their series was definitely better and more action-packed. If some scenes were cut from this novel the storyline would be more fluid and not so slow/weird... somewhere even forced.
+ I would like the epilogue to be longer. Or to get usual epilogue and then the bonus one.
Just let the criminals do something terrible! Don't turn the into misunderstood, deep inside good guys!
Lucas and Yulia have a story unlike any I have read. It might not be the prettiest romance but it certainly was fun to watch. The book took me on a ride and I enjoyed every single minute of it! Amazing! Absolutely LOVED it!
Hurled into a secret world of espionage and crime, Lucas and Yulia try to make sense of their situation and what it means. While uncovering secrets about her brother and the secret agency she works for, Yulia realizes that love may not be enough to live a normal life with the man she loves and save her brother.
Lucas is very controlling and possessive, strong, sexy and protective. Sometimes it’s hard...and a bit scary to watch him. He definitely has two sides to him - the normal person and the boss. He wants the stunning Yulia, he knows it crosses a line but he feels something he has never felt before and can't seem to stay away. As a scornful enemy looks to seek revenge, Yulia is in danger and Lucas has to do whatever he can to keep her safe.
The conveyance of emotion is beautifully done. Yulia and Lucas are incredible together! The chemistry is off the charts and the development of their relationship is so well done it's a joy to read!
In this romantic thriller, loyalties will be tested, secrets will be revealed, and justice will be served. There's lots of angst and drama to keep you entertained. It is explosive and dynamic and I loved every moment of this story because you are not sure how it will end. If you love bad boys, mystery, or stories about the mafia and ruthless spies this book is it.

First & foremost this CANNOT be read as a standalone. And it took me ages to write this review. It most likely won’t do the book justice but you gotta try, right?
This is conclusion to Yulia & Lucas's story. There are some books that must be savored this is one of them. Alas I tried to here but I couldn't I gobbled it up. I loved nearly every single moment of it.
Did I get the closure to this series that I wanted? Yes & No.
I also had a goofy smile on my face. Try telling people on the tram that you're not a psychopath.
From the first sentence to the last sentence I was hooked.
“Say that again?” I grip the phone tighter, nearly crushing it as my disbelief morphs into burning fury. “What the fuck do you mean she escaped?”
As you can gather Yulia escapes she is desperate to get back to the Ukraine and to her brother. Through the separation she realizes how attached she has become to her jailor no matter how wrong it feels. Her heart aches for him. She doesn’t understand why though.
I’m in love with a man who has every reason to despise me-a man who scares me to my very soul.
I still find Yulia to be one of my favorite heroines of all time. She is still strong although she develops throughout the book she stays strong but still changes in defined ways. They are subtle but there. Yulia made a mistake and compromised the organization URR it’s a close call. She did completely think that plan out to the end but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Lucas is well Lucas. We see how he changes throughout the book how he becomes more obsessed with Yulia How he is also violently possessed with her and how he can’t let go although he tries and what he wants. He is still a hard arse but he has a nurturing, soft side to him. Yulia is his beautiful, treacherous obsession.
There is a cross over with what happened in Chicago just from Lucas POV. I think there is something wrong with me to be honest. Whereas I don't think it was meant to entertaining or even funny I couldn't help not be amused by it and outright laugh on the tram.
Maybe I have a strange sense of humor actually I definitely have a strange sense of humor.
The penny finally drops for Lucas about bloody time as well.
“Who is he to you?” Yulia’s eyes widen. “You don’t know? But you said-““I think it’s possible I misunderstood,” – You think Lucas?
They are perfect for one another. I love them together. They fit. Lucas is a randy bastard though and I love how he put Yulia first.
“There is no happily ever after for people like us”.
But in this case maybe there just is.
“It’s not tender or pretty like I thought it would be. Some might even say it’s ugly. But it’s us. It’s our reality, our version of perfect.
There are a lot of things I didn't see coming. Yulia's demons from the past. Full of lies, deceit and betrayal. And yet over and over again she sacrifices herself for her brother and Lucas. She doesn’t know any differently.
Cute that Nora thinks she's playing with the big boys. She only can thanks to Julian. Lucas stands between Yulia & Julian Esguerra by going their separate ways. You know the whole she took the plane down I mean you could have forgiven her but no things have to be complicated. So he nearly died it wasn’t personal. But it turns out true loyalty had to be rarer than unicorns in the arm dealer’s world.
Lucas is a man of very few words but the words he does say, le sigh.
“You’re my reason for existing now.” His eyes glitter fiercely “You’re my everything [….] even when I hated you, I loved you.”
The ending for Yulia & Lucas felt pretty anti-climactic. There is a bonus scene with Julian & Nora but I felt that it didn't fit in here at all.
I would have liked to have seen a bonus scene based solely on the main characters of this book.
So Ms. Zaires what's up next? When will we get Peters book? Do I see a book with Jared Winters, the portfolio manager and Rosa? Although I'm not a fan of Rosa at the moment. But I’m sure that Ms. Zaires will wave her magic wand and rock it. Will we see a book with Misha?
ARC received by author in exchange for an honest review.
Oh how I love a good captor/captive story. This was the conclusion to the Capture Me series which is a spin-off to the Twist Me series. I am obsessed with Julian from the Twist Me series so I knew that this would be good!!!
First off, what I really liked about this book is that it was much longer than the first 2, and the story really wrapped up nicely. At the end of the last book, Yulia escapes her captor with the help of an unlikely Allie and in this book we see how Lucas will stop at nothing to get her back. "No matter what it takes, I'll find her, and she'll never escape again."
He is extremely protective, and ferociously possessive. Yulia means everything to him and his softer side really showed in this story. However, despite his tenderness towards her we still see the obsessive jerk that comes out every now and then. "I caught you, tagged you, and you're fucking mine. No man will ever touch you again, and if I want to keep you in a cage for the rest of you're life, I will. Understand?"
I really enjoyed Yulia's character as well, she allowed herself to find happiness and do what she loved while remaining loyal to her family. She constantly fought many difficult battles and went through a difficult childhood but always stayed strong. She never whined or complained, she worked with whatever cards she was dealt. The bonus story alone would make me give this book 5 stars. Being able to glimpse into Nora and Julian's life again made me soooo happy!!!!
I'm interested to see where Anna Zaires takes this story next. Rosa seems like she would have an interesting story. And we were hinted at her possible suitor. But we shall see!
After the previous book Bind Me I nearly tapped out but now I’m glad I continued on. I didn’t enjoy this series anyway near as much as Julian and Nora’s. But this book was for me the best of the three.
There’s action and adventure along the way.
I was intending to move straight onto Tormentor Mine. But I think I need a break and to reassess. The reviews are mixed so maybe that’s my signal to quit.
The first 60% of the story is really good and easily four stars. However, it flies off the rails soon after that and just become silly. I really wish these characters had their own story. This series was woven in between the same timeline as the Twist Me series, it really felt like Julian and Nora overshadowed Lucas and Yulia the entire time.
Thanks to my buddy reader Lolina for putting up with my constant chatter about ALL the things wrong with the end of this story. I’m STILL craving that mushroom risotto...
“Of course I love you.” His hands move up to frame my face, his big palms warm on my skin. Gazing down on me, he says. But when I met you…” He inhales roughly, “I’ve loved you from the moment I saw Diego carry you off that plane, thin and dirty and so gorgeous it made my chest hurt. I told myself it was only lust, pretended I could fuck you out of my system, but I ended up falling for you even more, wanting you more each day. Your loyalty, your bravery, your warmth—it was everything I never knew I needed. Before you came into my life, I didn’t have anyone, didn’t care about anyone, and I was fine that way.”
“Fuck, it was like I saw the sun for the first time. You made my world so much brighter, so much fuller…”
The first two books of the original Anna Zaires trilogy, "Twist Me", I rated rather high. The third book was a miss for me and so it got a one-star rating - I couldn't stand the way Zaires fell back on every damn cliche in the book in that book.
This spinoff I liked even better initially - both books one and two got solid four stars each. So why the hell does it seem like every time Zaires finishes a series, its a miss for me?
The conclusion to the Capture Me series wasn't cliche'd per say - it was just so incredibly bland and incomprehensibly unconvincing in turn. I wasn't even rolling my eyes. It didn't elicit nearly that strong of a reaction in me.
For starters, reading the events of Hold Me retold from another POV wasn't any more bearable the second time 'round. Still boring, still predictable. The plot gets slightly better afterwards, but that doesn't really last long either. Overall, Zaires' attempt to tie up every loose end is exactly what ruins her final instalments for me. The way everything is arranged neatly takes the excitement out of whole thing.
The characters were another problem for me. I didn't grow to like any of the characters I hadn't liked before, and the ones I DID like I either came to vaguely dislike or completely lost interest in.
Yulia was a big disappointment. Its not that she's a bad character - as a matter of fact I quite liked her in the former trilogy instalments. The problem's just that she DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. She spends the first two-thirds of the book either being transported somewhere, sedated or otherwise, interrogated, chained down or sick. She might or might not have done something of interest in the last third of the book, but by that time my interest in the whole thing was just about depleted and I wouldn't remember it anyway. I kind of get it - these are roughly the same things she's been doing the entire series - but c'mon man, it's the final instalment! Where's the excitement? Where's the surprise? Just incredibly disappointing for a character with actual potential. That domestication at the end was just a finishing touch - from a superspy to a moping captive to a bloody housewife. At least she attempted to scheme as a captive (although that rarely resulted in anything). This was just such a disappointment.
Lucas didn't improve. I never did particularly like him in the first place - I always thought he was a weak, watered-down caricature of Julian, minus the insidious intentions and sex appeal. He continues to be bland. His dialogue/thought process was incredibly repetitive. Very little he'd done up until now had particularly endeared him to me, and it certainly didn't this time either.
Julian was there, but only for like five pages. I get it, it isn't his story, but I feel like Zaires wasn't willing to use him as a straight-out character foil for Lucas (maybe because Lucas would most definitely suffer in comparison, probably), and so her solution was simply to barely feature him at all, and again, more blandness. Nothing really surprises me in this series anymore.
Nora... Well. Here be the unconvincing parts of the book. I understand that being forced to marry a psychopathic nymphomaniac was supposed to have hardened her, but COME ON. That first scene between her and Yulia? Being strong isn't being a haughty little cunt that threatens vicariously through said husband's power... And Yulia's cowering was just the icing on the fucking cake. I seriously disliked Nora in this book, and I actually liked her before. Wow. I won't go as far as saying this ruined the whole series for me, but I don't think Nora's really a favourite character of mine any longer... And no other character really rose to fill the void. Hence the whole 'mehh' factor.
I could kind of ignore the flaws of the series up until now (like the instalust and whatnot), but now that the characters have begun to grate on my nerves, well. The whole book was basically just the same old, same old... And it wasn't brilliant enough in the first place for me to be able to read it six times in a row and still feel happy with what I got. Also, seriously? Predictable much? Five to one the next instalment will be Rosa x Jared Winters. With such a fancy name? Mr. Winters is next. It's verging on formulaic at this point. I'm not saying I wouldn't read it as I generally like Zaires' writing... But I might also just opt out of the third instalment. They generally don't hit the mark with me, so let's just hope the guy has a whip. I've been missing the kinky sex.
Overall, 1.5 stars rounded down as some things weren't completely predictable - e.g. the whole Misha situation. Not that a book "not being totally predictable" is a big compliment.
4.5 "True Love or Obsession?" Stars for the story and narration!
What a fitting conclusion to another captivating, captor romance! As truths are finally revealed hard decisions must be made. Can a relationship between a dominant captor ever evolve to a true HEA? Or is the Dom/Sub role forever tied to obsession without more?
Book 3 picks up where book 2 leaves off. Yulia has run away fearing for the life of her brother. To protect him she decides to come clean to her former handlers. However, her reunion is anything but happy when she discovers several secrets they have been withholding from her.
Lucas meanwhile can't let Yulia go and resolves to find her. When he does, he finally discovers the truth. But will he come to her and her brother's aid? Moreover, can Lucas keep Yulia safe from the one man who can destroy them both and who will never forget Yulia's betrayal (his boss, Julian)?
Even if he can capture her again physically, will Yulia ever decide to stay willingly? Is she just Lucas' obsession or more? Is a man who has been through what Lucas has been through even capable of more?
From the heat level to the plot development, Claim Me definitely had me panting from start to end. What a way to end it and for those fans of the Twist Me Series there is even a great Nora and Julian Epilogue at the end!
The narration was fab as always with remarkable consistency between characters voices both from the Twist Me Series and Capture Me Series. Shirl Rae and Robert Scarlatto really make you feel both the erotic energy and angst of this story making this a great series to experience in audio format.
All in all, the Capture Me Series is a must listen to romance for gray romance fans!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I mean overall, the ending was quite disappointing, but not unexpected.
This review ended up being so unnecessarily long- I went on a whole rant and I just didn't stop 💀.
I didn't necessarily start this series with high expectations, and actually ended up liking it a whole lot more than I was expecting to- but at the same time, I'm just disappointed with how it turned out, and more specifically ended. Having said that, I do want to say that I genuinely did love the first half of the book.
I don't know what happened within the last couple of chapters, but the story just completely went off the rails (in a way that was just so unnecessarily convenient and unbelievable).
One thing that I couldn't get over within the series was the fact that despite this book being about Yulia and Lucas, it was just completely centered around Nora and Julian (from the Twist Me series), which I just found so unnecessary- Especially if you take into consideration the fact that Nora and Julian got an epilogue, where Yulia and Lucas didn't, even though this wasn't their book 💀- And although I understand that this was sort of a spin-off series, it just didn't hold on its own in the way that I was hoping it would have.
Personally for me, even though I did love the Twist Me series and its characters, I really don't feel like this story benefited from the constant comparisons and unnecessary information given. I think it really did put up a barrier between the two MCs in this story, and didn't really allow for their relationship to develop emotionally.
I really do think that there was a lot of potential for this story, especially with the romance between the characters- however as mentioned earlier, they were just not given enough time to properly develop their relationship, and rather just focused on their physical attraction (to a point in which it got quite overbearing) and the general storyline (which we already knew about prior to starting the series).
This book to me felt more of a means to end in relation to these characters- which for me was evident in all the repetitive scenes, dialogue, and lack of general character development. In addition to this, there were just so many frustrating and annoying scenes in this book in particular, where characters refused to communicate (despite being 3 books into this story), and just opted out to being hypocritical instead 🤷♀️.
I find it genuinely funny how this book was able to make me dislike and get genuinely frustrated with characters that I previously adored in the other series 💀💀 (I'm looking at you Nora and Rosa 🔪🔪).
All that aside, I think in general it was an enjoyable read 😅. The fact that the series was really fast-paced allowed it all to flow quite nicely in relation to the general story, and was quite exciting when reading at times.
In relation to the characters, they definetly had their moments. I think Lucas wasn't as amazing as I once considered him to be- I felt like his character was really getting pushed into that Julian stereotype, which I found didn't work with his given personality- but he still had his really cute moments that I enjoyed reading about.
Yulia's definitely a conflicting character. I ended up liking her SO much more than I thought I would, especially after reading from her pov and getting to know more about her backstory, which I appreciated. However having said that, I just felt like within this book, her character was really inconsistent- traits and achievements that she had within the previous books were just completely forgotten about/ never mentioned again, which was quite frustrating.
But yeah, it was a really conflicting book. I just think what really made me lose it was the last couple of chapters- everything just became either so convenient or just dramatically over the top, which really made it hard to ignore.
Overall this series definetly had its ups and its downs- I think on a base level I really did appreciate the writing, just not the ending. But don't get me wrong, there were some great moments in the book, which I genuinely did end up enjoying, and despite getting quite frustrated, I still had a lot of fun with everything. I wish we would've gotten an epilogue for Yulia and Lucas, although Julian and Nora's one was really cute.
This was another buddy read with Rain- I honestly had so much fun discussing this whole series!!
This review is for all three books -- the second trilogy in what I believe is a 10-book series about an arms dealer/mercenary, his colleagues, and the women they love. Here, we get Lucas, the arms dealer's second-in-command, and Yulia, a Ukrainian spy. Their relationship starts off very inauspiciously since the latter plays a role in the plane crash that kills the former's teammates. The rest of the series details their growing enemies-to-lovers relationship and the secret that Yulia is keeping about her past. Before I get to my review, I want to advise readers of four things: 1) Trigger warnings for rape; 2) I'm not a fan of "dark," so was relieved that Lucas wasn't as cruel as these H's usually are (and his anger was understandable); those who are might be disappointed; 3) The first two installments end in cliff-hangers; and 4) The characters and many lines of action were first introduced in Twist Me: The Complete Trilogy. I didn't read it; while I'm fine with that, I'm sure I missed nuances that more knowledgeable readers picked up on.
This was very difficult for me to rate because while I was very interested in the story, I found the underlying ideology abhorrent (and, no, I'm not talking about the dub-con/non-con aspects); I really wish (and not for the first time) that GR offered 1/2 stars. I'm going to divide this into what worked/didn't work/mixed for me. As always, YMMV.
Worked:
1) Yulia: I put her first because without her, I wouldn't have rated this trilogy so highly. And, indeed, while we do get some scenes from Lucas' POV, most are from hers. She was a fascinating, three-dimensional character with a rich backstory, clear objectives, and complex emotions. I particularly appreciated two aspects of her character. First, she was very sympathetic: strong, intelligent, talented, mature, responsible, self-sufficient, and a survivor. Second, she had a great deal of self-insight. I don't like "dark" in large part because the h's tend to be doormat victims of Stockholm Syndrome. Refreshingly, Yulia absolutely understands that her relationship with Lucas -- while fulfilling in many ways -- is also toxic. Never once does she not see the truth about him, herself, and how they are together; when she embraces it, she does so with her eyes wide open. Unlike with most of these unequal power exchange relationships, I actually understood what Yulia was getting out of hers: she had spent her entire life putting others' needs ahead of her own; to find someone who would take care of her was refreshing. Note: I notice that some reviewers didn't like her because she didn't feel guilty about the plane crash. Personally, I felt she did, but I also don't hold her to higher standards than I do the other characters -- none of whom is innocent. Julian kidnapped, raped, and tortured an 18 year old; Lucas tortured and killed a woman who was just trying to protect her husband and sons. Unlike the male characters, as an orphan child and victim of rape and prostitution, Yulia was forced into her life of crime. To his credit, Lucas does realize this.
2) Conflicts: Were organic, high-stakes, and seemingly insurmountable since Yulia's organization nearly decimates Lucas' and .
3) Yulia and .
4) Writing: Was grammatically correct, relatively error-free, with dialogue that never sounded stilted or forced.
Mixed:
1) Lucas and Yulia: Given that this was three books, the author could have fleshed-out their relationship much more than she did. This was very much a case of insta-love and I never bought the strong feelings that were at one point based on a single night of great sex. In addition, Lucas "forgives" Yulia far too quickly for many of her actions since she really did harm him. While I appreciated that Lucas appreciated Yulia's strength and abilities, ultimately, I felt everything about them was too rushed: I would have liked to have seen their feelings develop and evolve more slowly.
2) Plot: While I saw the twist coming, it was interesting. That said, however, I've never read a storyline that needed to be a trilogy -- including this one. Much of the second half of the first book is repetitious filler (I lost count of the number of times Lucas storms out of his house because he can't control his emotions). The second features too many plotlines tangential to the MC (and one proves that Ms. Zaires knows nothing about Chicago traffic patterns). The third contains far too many climaxes (plot, not sexual) and ends with the eye-rolling, very tired . Finally, there were some plot holes (given all she knew about the organization, for example, it made no sense that Yulia's handler did not do more to ).
Didn't Work: The books' underlying, extremely problematic socio-political ideologies:
1) Islamophobia: Authors in this genre need to look up this definition and imprint it on their brains
2) Ukraine vs. Russia: The narrative's attitude to this conflict is incoherent since I was never clear on what each side wanted; what the secret organizations were for; what they intended to do with the guns, or why the plane crash was necessary. The narrative also frequently Bothsideisms and while I'm not defending all that Ukraine nationals do, the balance of power is so unequal and Putin so dangerous that I have little patience for this argument.
4 stars for Capture Me: The Complete Trilogy since I was invested. While the author does provide an epilogue, some characters' fates remain unresolved. Based on the reviews, I won't be be reading Twist Me: The Complete Trilogy; I might try Tormentor Mine: The Complete Series. But, at the end of the day, I can only summon up so much interest in people who sell weapons to groups locked in armed conflicts.
“You’re mine. Nothing and no one will take you from me."
Wowza!! Anna Zaires delivers an EPIC conclusion to the wildly addictive Capture Me trilogy with this breathtaking final installment! From start to finish CLAIM ME held my heart hostage and left me frantically turning the pages, bracing myself for whatever catastrophic event might transpire next!
While CLAIM ME is just as fast-paced, action-packed and dramatically intense as the first two books, the growing desperation, heightened emotion, and true scope of the obsessive love between Lucas Kent and Yulia Tzakova in this third book truly scorched the soul! Not only was I enthralled by their spellbinding romantic bond but their combustible interludes, which are equal parts violent and tender, are among the hottest I have EVER read!
And OH MY GOD! Lucas!!! My love for this ruthless commando is off-the-charts! He is so predatory, primally sexy and powerfully masculine, and his tender devotion, fierce protectiveness, and unbridled lust towards his precious Yulia gave me goosebumps!
Once he recaptures the Ukrainian spy after her daring escape at the end of BIND ME, and saves her from certain death, he becomes even more obsessed with his stunningly beautiful prisoner than ever. Now he will stop at nothing to possess every part of her, keep her happy and safe from harm, and secure their future together. Even if that means risking his neck by going head to head with his formidable boss, Julian Esguerra, who is out for blood.
And bravehearted Yulia is equally devoted to her dark, dangerous captor! In fact, they are bound so tightly together that she no longer harbors fantasies of trying to break free of Lucas's steely clutches because he is the center of her world and the thought of living without him is UNBEARABLE. My heart was in my throat when we finally learn the full extent of both their complex backstories, and the shattering sacrifices made along the way, which ultimately paved the way for their fateful union. All of which added even richer nuances and deeper resonance to their SOUL-BURNING love affair.
I was highly satisfied with how the intertwining romance and suspense threads culminate in this fast-paced final installment. There was palpable tension and peril throughout, and I was riveted by the nerve-wracking pivotal scenes where the drama and intrigue reach a FEVER PITCH, leading to a explosive crescendo where their nemesis gets his long awaited comeuppance and true love FINALLY prevails!
Ultimately, the brilliant Ms. Zaires literally did not leave one stone unturned in this THRILLINGLY ROMANTIC conclusion, and I wept tears of joy when everything comes beautifully full circle in the end! And the piece de resistance? That AMAZEBALLS BONUS EPILOGUE featuring fan faves Julian and Nora, which had me sighing in sweet euphoria!!!! What an extraordinary gift for loyal readers of the Twist Me trilogy to treasure forever.
Ahh...parting is such sweet sorrow! While I am sad to bid adieu to the pulse-pounding Capture Me saga, I am giddy with anticipation for Peter's long awaited story to commence in TORMENTOR MINE!
Audiobook: I enjoyed the narration by both these narrators. They really brought this story to life for me. There are several different characters and their performance of them were very nice with the exception of one male character performed by Ms.Rae. I was completely immersed into this fascinating world created by Ms. Zaiares and voice by Ms. Rae and Mr. Scarlato.
Loved this conclusion to the series. It was so fast paced and action filled with plenty of steam. It kept me guessing from the beginning onwards. I wasn’t sure how this couple were ever going to find their happy ever after or even if they did what it was going to look like. I was very pleased with where and how the author took this story. The ending made all the tragedy getting to it worthwhile.
During the twist me trilogy i loved Lucas (as much as you can love a crazy person). But i wasnt as thrilled with HIS trilogy. I wasnt as invested in the "love story" and it seemed as though she recycled some chapters with a bit of tweaking. It was a fine trilogy but I highly recommend the twist me trilogy.
Yeah, I'm done. It's a shame the ending didn't work out for me. I kind of like the initial plot of this series, the sexual tension, not to mention Lucas' sooo hot, only it stopped there. There are too many repetitive scenes and dialogues, but minimal to zero character development. Yulia was just... well.. Yulia. A bit disappointing, but yeah, I'm done.
*PS: I was given an copy of this book. But I do solemnly swear that I am up to...good. ;) This is a fair and honest review of this book, pinky promise.*
Wow I just finished Claim Me. What a great conclusion of Lucas and Yulia's story! This is third book in Capture Me series, so there are two books before this one, if you didn't read them you should. This book continues with Yulia's escape, then Lucas finding her and bringing her back and then it goes into details and this is where we get answers that we were looking for. I don't want to give you any spoilers, but Anna will go through everything and explain what happened, where, when, how, why. You will get more of Rosa as well as Julian and Nora. You will see how they deal with Yulia being on the compound and being with Lucas. Also on the end of the book there is one last chapter looking in the future of Julian and Nora! You will see scene that everyone was curious about. Throughout the book there is a lots of thing happening. Anna put us through as much ups and downs as one can take. Although Lucas is dangerous, bad boy, you will get to see more of his soft side as well. He is definitely not as dark as Julian, which I personally enjoyed a lot. Anna actually made me change my mind and fall in love with Lucas and Yulia. They chemistry is off the chain, crazy! I love it! Lots of hot and steamy scenes as these two can't keep their hands off each other. I'll say it again. I think this is great conclusion to Lucas and Yulia's story, storyline is great, couple is hot. Anna's writing is superb as always. She keeps you on your toes from beginning to the end, there is no boring moment. And then just when you think you "got it" she trows something in that you did not expect. This is excellent book, excellent series and I am highly recommending it. Enjoy!
I thought the final book was much better than book 2. There was a lot going on for the first 50% of the book. Yulia and Lucas had some obstacles to overcome and around 60% or so was the first bedroom scene. So very different from the last book which was a sexfest.
Although I liked this book better than the last one, I really didn’t care about either one of these characters. I wasn’t invested in them and I just didn’t care whether or not they got their HEA. Not quite sure how I went through three books and wasn’t invested in the main characters, but that’s what happened.
Claim Me is the highly anticipated third book in the Capture Me Series by Anna Zaires and unfortunately it concludes the story of Lucas and Yulia, but it concludes is beautifully.
I couldn't wait to start this book and I picked it up every chance I got, then once I had it finished I was upset that it was all over. This series is the kind of series that will stay in your heart forever. You will go back and read it over and over again in case you missed some little detail or in the hope that someday other characters like Rosa, Diego or Misha will have their story told and the Twist Me/Capture Series will continue forever. I will miss all the characters and I know I will wonder what became of them and no doubt think of different scenarios of what they are up to now in my head.
Claim Me continue on from Bind Me, with Yulia having escaped from Esguerras compound while Lucas was in Chicago. Lucas is not happy and he goes in search of Yulia. He finds her just as her past is about to catch up with her. Yulia is forced to face her fears and her past while she must come to terms with that all she's been told in her life by people she thought she could trust has been a lie while being held captive by Lucas.
The writing, as always is clear concise and I absolutely love the parallel and intertwined storylines from the Twist Me and Capture Series, I find this kind of storytelling ingenious! The story for me never lagged or lulled in any point. It's fast paced with action, suspense and steamy scenes that'll leave you wondering why you haven't been held captive by someone as complex and as sexy as Lucas.
What I particularly liked about Claim Me is the relationship between Julian and Yulia. I think that despite the events that happened and Yulia's involvement leading to Julian being injured which resulted in Yulias capture, most authors would have had everything and everyone being happy with a forgive and forget type attitude in the end but I love that this isn't the case and that even in the end scene in the epilogue there's still animosity with Julian and Yulia. I liked that.
I love the Julian and Nora epilogue (three years later) at the end and it gives us an insight to Lucas and Yulia and their future.
This is one series that I highly recommend. So go and start Claim Me but pace yourself because you won't want this book to ever end. Another 5 star read.
I have to say that I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH!! Still this last book was just ok-simple.
Yulia is on run and Lucas in another country of course he learns that she escape and he is furious and horny(the guy have sex everyday, come on). Lucas will do anything to rescue..oppss..capture her, lock her, track her(he did and I hate him for it) and slave her.
I pretty sure everyone just describe what happen. So basically, Yulia see her brother and everyone of her agency die and Lucas is back or she is back I am not sure whom comeback to whom.
Back to South America, Yulia get sick and ... SERIOUS I thought that they would talk and try to understand what drive each other and yet nothing!!!!!!!!! Yulia becomes a spy kidnapped to sex slave to Lucas. Lucas is all alpha male on her-yes I love him in the 2 books but this one he would not listen and talk like a human just a body that he was having sex with.
Yulia is not better-she was raped and Lucas trigged her every moment he had and she just acept like that so easily. They too have big problems and I know this is dark and still Lucas did not treat her good or that will recognize that she more than a body. And will not talk how she adapted in the ville--serious..a restaurant?!!
The final scene was that Lucas finally will set her free.. I am not saying how the author should write and yet how he drop that bomb to her like that. Yes, he was afraid to lose and I did not belive that he listen to Yulia when she asks that will set her free-she was actually saying that if she could chose he would allow to do it.
I don't know what to think... For me (as a fan of romance and this series) is Claim Me the best book of this trilogy. I enjoyed every page and if I had a possibility to read it in one sitting, I would do it. The story is readable and really good written. What I like the most was
BUT... ...it is so far from Capture Me and Bind Me. I mean - in the whole book were four or five sex passages, which is ok for me since I don't like a lot of them in one story, but in previous books was it almost in every fourth chapter. But fine, this time it was maybe about the story. Also was really so necessary to write so much about Yulia's cooking skills? I had a feeling like it Anna wants to prolong the book. And it is a pity, that the interaction between didn't take longer.
I have to admit, I am confused with this book. I love it and I am disappointed at the same time. It's really good, my romantic heart is happy, nevertheless it is not what I expected from this genre. But despite all my negative thoughts, Capture Me series is one of my favorites.
Thank you, Anna, for a nice conclusion of Lucas & Yulia's story.
Straight 5 stars of course. Nothing less for this trilogy all together! Once more I was blown away with this amazing and fabulous story. Yulia has escaped, but she realizes it was not a good idea after all. Furious Lucas storms after her as soon as his job lets him. He is ready to avenge her and her lover. Basically he plans to kill her lover with a very slow painful death and take her back to his home and keep her forever and ever. And then he will be surprised when he realizes that there is no lover, but just a cocky teenager kid. After lots of bombs and gun shots and fire and running, Lucas and Yulia end up together again and they try to make sense of their situation and what it means. I absolutely loved this couple. They were incredible together. There was passion, possessiveness, jealousy and unquestionable love in a very twisted way. Maybe Rosa’s story will be next?
