CJ Bishop does it again, and this time she is pretty darn clever about it! If you are a fan of her Phoenix Club series, (if your not you should be!), then this is a continuation of that amazing story. For those of you who will be reading as a standalone, there is a prologue to catch you up. Pretty crafty! I love that the heart of this series never gets lost, the brilliance of this author is reflected in the fact that she can keep stories about many different situations in one book without it become a muddled up mess! Thank you CJ, we look forward to the next one! - Review by Bike Book Reviews

You don't have to read The Phoenix Club series to enjoy The Phoenix Chronicles, but it is highly recommended!

Pen name of author A.M. Snead.

Born and raised in scenic Coos County, Oregon, CJ enjoys the small town atmosphere and down-to-earth country folk who populate the area. She is a single mother and lives with her 18-year-old daughter, 1 horse, 4 dogs and 6 cats deep in the country woodlands which gives her plenty of time to write.

She is a Christian and a strong supporter of the LGBT community and favors gay erotic romance when it comes to writing. She hopes that her stories of love and acceptance will help further compassion and understanding for LGBT people who she feels is greatly misunderstood and persecuted - in a large party by the Christian community.

Most of all, she is hopeful that her stories will bring comfort to those who have been told that God hates them because they are different. It is her strong belief that God loves everyone and His love covers all.

Wraps up the stories of the Phoenix boys perfectly

As with its previous companion volume, this book brings all the boys stories together to tie up loose ends and bring the happy ever afters to their logical conclusions.
There is a bit of drama, a bit of angst but not loads and there's the usual amounts of scorching hot sex.
My only comment regarding the sex is that I wish there'd been a bit more lube and condom usage before these boys started going at each other like there was going to be no tomorrow and a little less spit and shove it in. But that's me just being picky.

There's also way more references to God in this one than before and at times it does become a bit much, especially I think for those who perhaps don't have the same faith in a higher power. Again my own feelings only and it doesn't really distract from the excellent storytelling.

Few niggling typos and editing mistakes but overall just a thoroughly entertaining read.
Now I'm onto the cowboy ;)

This was a solid four star read IMO. So many loose ends were tied up; questions answered, problems worked through, ghosts banished. But there were also enough bits left open-ended to continue with stories set in the Phoenix Club universe.

Once again, Max is the star. His journal entries give us insight into his feelings, not just for Horatio, but for all of his boys. He is the beating heart that holds this unconventional family together. He's the grounding force that helps the men in his life keep their feet on the ground. And for some, he's the reason they've learned to stand up for themselves and face the past, so they can move on to happier futures. I actually enjoyed this more than the first 15 books, although without The Phoenix Club series, the Chronicles wouldn't be necessary. This trilogy brings closure on so many fronts, and opens doors to so many possibilities.....

****Second read and, once again, the thing that impressed me is the strong family Max and Horatio have created. Max seems to have the ability to see a person in need and to know how to help them, be it overtly or behind-the-scenes. Cole and Gabe are the anchors of the family; with Cole being so grounded and the inner light Gabe possesses, they seem to keep their unconventional family together by strength of will alone, sometimes. Very steamy smexy times in all of the Phoenix books--perhaps a bit over-the-top on occasion, but........I like it...... Plan to read The Cowboy Gangster books next.

Screw Epilogues, this is an HEA novel

Have you ever wished an author would just write a whole book for the "happily ever after?" That's what this is; a love-letter to the Pheonix boys. Almost all the story lines are wrapped up, very little angst, lots of sexy times, and maybe just a few typos. A little preachy, this one, though it's to be expected considering it's mostly told from Max's perspective, he seems to be the most religious. I don't know much about christianity but I'm guessing the author is one of the "good" ones because it's described beautifully.

No.

How many books have you downloaded that you actually go through the extreme process of removing from your kindle? Not many right? It is a pain and you mostly just ignore "bad books" in your list. I am gonna remove this one.
I bought this based upon the reviews of other readers. I seriously doubt that they read this.
In honestly I gave it to chapter eight. Frankly I have no idea what what is happening. I also have no idea who the characters are.

Lovely insight into the characters life

I loved reading this chronicle. I loved reading and knowing what was happening in each and every characters life. But I’d wished and hoped to read more about Carl and Lex, and Set and Jaime. I hope the authors write a separate book for those two. And I hope they continue to write more stories about the “Phoenix Club” guys.

Fun and sexy

Fell in love w/these books/characters when literally stumbled across "Able". Each book gets more intense and fun than the last one. The one caveat is, you cannot be put off by m/m (male to male) sex. If you are these are not the 📚 (books) for you.

The characters in these books are sexually promiscuous and morally ambivalent. The mottos of these men should be "If you can't be with the one you love, then love the one you're with," or "The easiest way to get over a man is to get under another." Many of the stories were so similar to each other that I found myself confusing characters from one book with another. A good sex scene can be exciting, but some entire chapters in these stories were devoted to nothing but one extended sexual encounter. It was all a bit too much, at times.

Can't get enough of these boys

This 3 book series is a continuation of the lives and loves of the couple's in The Phoenix Club series. It starts out as Max's journal. It's Max's narrative of heartache and happiness of the 5 couples from the 1st books and a few additions to their "family". This has become one of my favorite series'. The way these characters have been brought to life is truly amazing. I actually read these book first. I was immediately drawn into their world. I was also left with the burning need to know each couple's origins. Naturally, I had to go to read The Phoenix Club. After reading those books, I re-read this series. It hit me harder the second time. To experience the wondrous way these men faced their demons with the help of their "family" and the glorious outcomes took my breath away. These books continue to show how courageous, loving and loyal this "family" is to each other. I feel blessed to have found these books. I hope whoever reads this review will take the chance and enjoy these stories as much as I, and many others, have.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! YESSSSS!!!! My heart can't handle it. I'm so happy that I stumbled upon this author because I am so fucking HOOKED!!! CJ Bishop delivers and does not leave you disappointed. My only complaint is that I WANT MORE!!!! The chemistry, the heartache, the pain, the love, every emotion pours right off these pages and burrows deep into your heart. I absolutely adore Max and the family that he has created.

There are just no words to describe how amazing these stories are. The sex is phenomenal and hot as hell. The guys have all stolen a piece of my heart and it's going to be really hard not to compare other M/M stories to CJ's. She might've just ruined me from them all. Definitely and highly recommend reading this series.

Do I love the Phoenix Chronicles? Yes I do!!! CJ has done it again! This was an amazing follow up to the Phoenix Club. I am in love with each and every character. And CJ has done an incredible job moving through each of their lives seamlessly flowing from past to present then from one moment in one characters life to another moment of someone else's. Brilliant. I laughed and cried. Their stories of suffering then triumph over evil with such compassion and pure grace moved me beyond measure. Thank you, CJ. I am a fan.

***2016 has been a very unstable year. Not only have I lost favourite role models in droves, I have been into dark places more times than I could count. Yes, I experienced highlights as well but the darkness has had a big impact this year and the only way to keep it at bay was reading, mass reading, back to back books with no stopping and no reviewing. I do apologize to all the writers that I won’t be able to review their books yet but I will get to it. Promise!***

I love the couples in these books but I don't understand why everyone has either been raped or has raped someone. Can't the author think of anything else to write about? Also all I can think of during some of the sex scenes is where are the condoms and lube? It's really distracting!
