THE CONSEQUENCE HE MUST CLAIM by Dani Collins is a brilliant follow-up to the 1st book in this duet, The Marriage he Must Keep……see my review here… https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... and where we first met Sorcha Kelly, whose baby boy had been temporarily swapped with Octavia’s baby….we now have her own story.
Sorcha had worked as Cesar Montero’s PA for over three years in Spain and one night both give in to their desire for each other. The following morning Cesar is involved in an accident which leaves him with amnesia. When Sorcha tries to see him at the hospital, she’s refused entry and told by his family that he’s engaged to be married to another woman.
Heartbroken she goes back home where she discovers that her night of passion with Cesar resulted in a pregnancy.
When the baby mix-up happens at the hospital, Cesar is contacted and told about Sorcha and their newborn baby boy.
Wow, this is a pretty intense and emotional story. I felt sad for Cesar….his family are cold and emotionaless and the only thing they care about is money and their position in society…..they are also manipulative and feel absolutely nothing about anyone.
Well-written and fresh story-line, engaging characters. I found Sorcha and Cesar so likeable and endearing….and of course…little baby Enrique!!!

I was surprised at how much I liked this. It did get a bit "saggy" in the middle when the heroine was dithering about marrying him, but once the H/h were together in real time (instead of flashbacks) it was a fun read. I actually read the sex scenes, which were in character and added to my belief that these two should be together.
So the story: H/h have worked together for three years. They are attracted to each other and acknowledge it in their initial interview, but they both decide not to act on it. Hero is a man whore who is expect to marry the OW of another aristocratic family in due time. The heroine has decided to leave the hero's employ when she finds out that the OW is pushing to marry within the year. Hero doesn't want to marry her, but can't seem to find a way to get out of it without disappointing his parents. When the heroine decides to resign, they have a night of sex together. Then the hero goes to see the OW and is in a horrible car accident.
When the prologue opens, the now pregnant heroine has been trying to see the hero for weeks, but his family won't let her. She finds out he has amnesia from the week of his accident and doesn't remember their night together. The OW guesses something happened and tells her a pack of lies to get her to go away.
Fast forward 8 months and the heroine has had an emergency c-section. At the busy London hospital, her baby is mixed up with the H/h's child from book one in this series. The hospital needs a DNA sample from the baby's father so they call the H. This is the first the hero has heard of a child and he's not too happy.
The rest flows from there. I was touched by the hero's reaction to holding his son for the first time and how he unlearns the lessons from his past. I also liked that once he had sex with the heroine, he never had sex with another woman. The heroine has an interesting backstory of being the illegitimate daughter of a Duke and thanks to the hero, justice is finally done for her mother. These are all nice touches in a very nice romance.
The hero's parents are emotional icicles and the OW is subtly conniving. One other bright spot: the hero never trusts the OW and always trusts the h, which is very refreshing.

I started this book in a Benedryl induced haze and finally finished it tonight still with the lingering effects of the medication.This story did not WOW me,but it kept my interest as it was original and the pace was good.I did love the hero,but I felt off with the heroine,Sorcha,there was something about her that I did not like,maybe it was the Benedryl.
Anywhos,long story short,heroine works for the aristocratic hero as his PA for 3 years then one night after celebrating a job well done,they succumb to their hidden sexual feeling for each other and do the deed on the office couch.The morning after,hero is no where to be found,but we later find out he crashed his car on the way to see his soon to be arranged fiancee,but is now in a coma in hospital.She goes to see him in hospital,but is met by the "fiancee" and told she is no longer needed.Heroine now pregnant with hero's baby is distraught and leaves and goes back to her home in London, then plans to raise her baby in a small village in Ireland where she was born and raised as the "bastard" daughter of a married man who had another legit family in England.Hero at this time has had no memory of the events leading to his crash when he awakens from his coma.
Eight months later,she goes into early labor the same day as another young woman is also being admitted to give birth.But the babies are switched and no one is believing that the babies could have possibly been switched,but DNA is done and voila,yep,babies were switched,and now correct babies were with correct mothers.
Hero finds out he is a father when the hospital calls him to inform of possible baby swap and is asked to provide his DNA sample,thus,he goes to England,sees Mother and newborn,arranges marriage and takes the new family back to Spain to live.
Some drama with exfiance,but resolved very quickly.After the marriage,the book was rather anticlimactic with the couple just learning to live together,finally having sex again,minor drama,then the ILY's.Cute epilogue.
Now I have to go and read the 1st book of this series which is about Octavia, the other Mother whose baby was part of the switch at the hospital.
A very strong 3.75***.

I enjoyed this book but I felt there was a lot of drama, too much so for this reader. This is the second book of a series and book one, for me, was not worth my time. I have to say that the story moved along slowly for this reader and didn't pick up until around page 94 of 137. This can be read as a stand-alone and I, personally, didn't feel like book one was necessary to book two. Book one moved slowly, as well, and had a lousy hero who finally righted his wrongs.
I have to be honest and say that the references to the hero's past man-whorish lifestyle (and believe me it was bad!) and sexual experience was discomforting. He had been in an accident and lost his memory that included the first time the hero and heroine made love. When she hired on they signed an agreement that they would not become sexually involved while she was under his employ. When he comes out of the coma in the hospital his parents and the woman they chose for him to marry (otherwise know as 'evil one' or 'evil woman') all claimed that they were now officially engaged, but they were lying so he would still go forward and marry this awful woman. It was horrific how they all agreed to trick him by telling him he had gotten officially engaged to the evil witch right before his accident but he had not and there was no one to tell him the truth. They decided to keep the big secret that he was about to become a father. Unfortunately, he was in a horrible position where he had to depend on everyone else's knowledge to learn what happened, which were all lies. He was very angry and upset because the heroine, his PA, never came to see him but he has no clue that the 'evil one' and his parents blocked the heroine from the hospital and their home. This was all planned out by His evil almost fiance and his parents. They were determined for this marriage to go through and somewhat brain-washed him into believing that he wanted the same thing.
The evil one knew all along about the heroine's pregnancy and was having her followed keeping it secret from him. He probably would have never found out if there hadn't been complications from the birth because his parents and the evil one passed along messages to the heroine that the hero wanted nothing to do with her and their shared sexual experience was only his last hurrah, when in fact he had decided not to marry the evil one. Since the heroine was having a difficult time with labor and delivery and they had to do emergency surgery she needed to make sure there were provisions for her child in case she didn't make it so she added the hero's name as the father. He does not find out about her pregnancy or the babe until a few days before his own wedding to the 'Evil One' which was the day after his son was born.
He is stunned and shocked to find out he has a baby son and is angrier than ever to learn the heroine, his PA, kept it from him. She's finally able to tell him how his own parents and the witch he was supposed to marry had blocked her at every turn, even banning her from the hospital, not allowing her in to see him. But even after he has had the DNA test and plans to marry the heroine...his parents are still pressuring him to marry the 'evil one.' The 'evil witch' also tried to push him into going on with the marriage suggesting he pay off the mother of his child. His family told him the same thing and that just because he knocked up this woman he should not let it affect his upcoming marriage that he didn't want to begin with. With parents like that who needs enemies.
I love this book but there are times when it's a little hard to take. Especially when we hear about all his sexual exploits which were constant while he was also drawn like a magnet to his PA!

Sorcha was introduced in The Marriage He Must Keep when her and Octavio’s sons were swapped. We knew that the dad was not in the picture, and she freaked out when she learned Cesar was called by the hospital. (Later Octavia & Sandro attended a party at their home) Here we get the backstory of that situation, which includes amnesia, an evil manipulating wannabe OW, and arrogant in-laws.
Sorcha is pretty feisty without being bitchy. Cesar was alright. He wasn’t a huge jerk, but he had a “logical/scientific” brain, so he looked at situations more similar to a robot than a human. (dry)
The only part that was a little out there for me was all the “bastard vs titled” talk. And her family being outcasts with Scarlet Letters, because her mother had a long-term relationship with a married man. It didn’t really fit with the modern setting; this was 2016, not 1716.
Bottom Line- Another good one. I enjoyed it…and another one that I didn’t want to throttle either mc… and finally some comeuppance.

I'm not usually a fan of amnesia stories, but this one worked for me. I loved the manipulative/lying ex monkey wrenching Sorcha and Cesar's relationship with her lies. This one also has some decent angst.

I liked the heroine. The hero was surprisingly ok. This book was better then the first one.
Safety Issue:
Hero was celibate during the separation time. So, no cheating, but hero and heroine known each other for 3 years, so during that time he was obviously with other women. But after the heroine, he was celibate. There was Little OW drama.
Overall I enjoyed this one.

After the first book The Marriage He Must Keep (which I really loved), this was a disappointment. (Both books are standalones, the characters barely feature in each other's book so can be read out of order, or not at all). This book has a h who works as a PA for her sexy Spanish boss and promises him she will NEVER sleep with him during the 5 years she promises to stay. They are both instantly attracted to each other, but the H is a monumental manwhore who is not-quite-engaged, and the h doesn't want to be another notch on his bedpost. After 3 years, things happen and they have sex, the H gets in a car wreck and gets amnesia, losing the last week of his memories. When he awakens, it is to find that he is engaged to his ice queen fiancé, and his PA has quit and left the country (with a little souvenir).
The h had her reasons for leaving and not telling him about the pregnancy. I'm picky about my "secret baby" stories but I understood her reasons, and thought they were good ones. My heart broke for the h when she realized that things might not have been what she thought and she left. When there is a baby switch at the hospital, they contact the H just a few days before his wedding, to inform him that he is a father and will need to give a DNA test. Shocked, he cancels the wedding and leaves for London immediately.
Most of the book is the H/h trying to come to terms over what happened during that forgotten week and what drove them apart. There is some blatant maneuvering by the Evil OW and the H's status hungry family. As they marry, then spend more time together, I loved watching them reconnect and build on their existing friendship as it slowly turned into love.
My biggest problem with this book was the characterization of the H. I'll put my rant in a spoiler tag in case you want to skip over it,
Safety: I will say that the book was technically safe. The h was not a virgin. The H/h are both celibate during their separation. The H was not engaged to the OW while he was whoring around. But if you don't like an H who has sex with OW after he has met and been attracted to the h, this is not the book for you. If you don't like constant reminders of the H's manwhore past, this is not the book for you.
I'm glad I read this book, since I wanted to finish the 2 book series, but I wouldn't read it again.

This was the direct companion to "The Marriage He Must Keep " as Sorcha is the other mother whose infant son was swapped at the hospital. Unlike Ocatvia in "TCHMC", the father of Sorcha's baby didn't know the child existed and was quite shocked.
Others have written excellent reviews involving plot points, but I just wanted to say that I thought this was well-written, and I loved reading how Cesar .

I did enjoy the book, but it took to about half the book before we see the chemistry between the H/h. I had also hoped for more drama with the storyline. I thought it would be more regarding his crash and the girl he was supposed to marry, but, it didn't go that way. Also, he never remembers the week before leading up to the crash or what was said to the fiancé and I ugh that bugged me, I really wanted to know.

I'm picking and choosing Dani Collins books based on the blurbs...trying to figure out what appeals to me.
Loved this one...has amnesia, secret baby, lots of conflict, villainous OW/interfering family. Yippppeeeee! And a very nice resolution, that slowly evolved (still with angst, of course) and a nice "I love you" that was believable and super satisfying.

This was book 2 in the mini series "The Wrong Heirs" by Dani Collins and I was really excited reading about Sorcha and Cesar's romance that was introduced in book 1, which I just read. Oddly enough though I was very disappointed. I usually love Dani Collins books, but this one was not my favorite of hers. I was just expecting so much more of this book especially from set up book one provided but for me it just didn't hit the mark.
My biggest problem with this book was it didn't feel like a romance. There were romantic elements in there but they were so few and far between that it didn't feel like a love story. There was so much focus on the baby swap in this story that the romance and relationship took a back seat. That was the part I wanted to see. I didn't really get the feeling they were falling in love or in love especially on his side. I just wasn't feeling it.
And honestly the story felt kind of bland and uninteresting. Partly because I felt like I already knew about the baby swap and the details behind it so it just felt like a big rehash that took up way too much of the story. Yeah, it was from a different point of view and perspective yet it felt very much the same. It wasn't so much filling in the blanks to add another dimension to story but again just felt like a rehash. So that part of the story dragged for me. It was very monotone.
There was just no real excitement in this story. There were no sparks between the characters, or so I felt. They didn't really have an emotional connection or any connection really. I couldn't see them fall in love or if they were attracted to one another. There was none of back and forth. There was no angst. There was no chemistry. There was no emotional intensity or any intensity at all. It just felt very blah.
Nothing was really between them until the last third of the book. There was no relationship building or development along the way. That's what I wanted to see. I wanted to see how their relationship grew and deepened over time but the romance was never really the main focus. Everything else was. I think if it was more emotional intense that would have been the edge the story needed to make it more consuming. It just wasn't.
There was one scene that stood out for me and that was one of the love scene which finally injected life into the story. And it was hot to book so that didn't hurt either. It was the scene where he asked about their first time since he didn't remember it due to a brain injury so he asked about. Then they went about reliving it and reenacting so he could be part of the experience he didn't remember. It was steamy, sexy, and brought excitement into the story that needed to be there all book not just the snippet here. It was a steamy moment but also very sweet that they were recreating that moment and connection. If this happened all the way through the book would have been so much better.
This was not the book I was expecting when I first picked up the book. I thought there would have been a whole lot more angst especially considering their history but it just wasn't there. It just would have added so much more to the story and upped the intensity that this story really needed instead of the blahness of what it was. I was disappointed in this book.
I have ever faith in Dani Collins and her future books. And I can't wait to read her next one by her. This just wasn't my favorite. But hey I guess I can't love them all.
This was book 2 in the mini series "The Wrong Heirs" by Dani Collins and I was really excited reading about Sorcha and Cesar's romance that was introduced in book 1, which I just read. Oddly enough though I was very disappointed. I usually love Dani Collins books, but this one was not my favorite of hers. I was just expecting so much more of this book especially from set up book one provided but for me it just didn't hit the mark.
My biggest problem with this book was it didn't feel like a romance. There were romantic elements in there but they were so few and far between that it didn't feel like a love story. There was so much focus on the baby swap in this story that the romance and relationship took a back seat. That was the part I wanted to see. I didn't really get the feeling they were falling in love or in love especially on his side. I just wasn't feeling it.
And honestly the story felt kind of bland and uninteresting. Partly because I felt like I already knew about the baby swap and the details behind it so it just felt like a big rehash that took up way too much of the story. Yeah, it was from a different point of view and perspective yet it felt very much the same. It wasn't so much filling in the blanks to add another dimension to story but again just felt like a rehash. So that part of the story dragged for me. It was very monotone.
There was just no real excitement in this story. There were no sparks between the characters, or so I felt. They didn't really have an emotional connection or any connection really. I couldn't see them fall in love or if they were attracted to one another. There was none of back and forth. There was no angst. There was no chemistry. There was no emotional intensity or any intensity at all. It just felt very blah.
Nothing was really between them until the last third of the book. There was no relationship building or development along the way. That's what I wanted to see. I wanted to see how their relationship grew and deepened over time but the romance was never really the main focus. Everything else was. I think if it was more emotional intense that would have been the edge the story needed to make it more consuming. It just wasn't.
There was one scene that stood out for me and that was one of the love scene which finally injected life into the story. And it was hot to book so that didn't hurt either. It was the scene where he asked about their first time since he didn't remember it due to a brain injury so he asked about. Then they went about reliving it and reenacting so he could be part of the experience he didn't remember. It was steamy, sexy, and brought excitement into the story that needed to be there all book not just the snippet here. This was so soapy and even a little bit silly and yet I still have to admit that I was thoroughly entertained.
Sorcha was Cesar's assistant for three years, falling in love with him over the span of time, and when it appeared he'd be getting married to another woman as a slightly more personal version of a business transaction, she put in her notice. Cesar wanted Sorcha for pretty much the entire time they worked together, but since they did work together, he put his desire for her on the back burner. So once he realizes that she really is leaving, he figures, what the hell and the two of them hook up. Unfortunately, the next morning, he leaves, goes to see the OW, and is in a traumatic accident the next day that puts him in a coma and causes him to lose a week's worth of memories.
Long story short, OW ends up sending Sorcha away and, if the title of the book didn't give it away, Sorcha's preggers. A hospital mix-up means that Cesar is contacted and oops, he knows about the baby. Since no couple in the history of Harleys can have a baby together without getting married, this is what Cesar proposes and eventually, Sorcha accepts. The thing is, she's still totally into him, and he is still the type of dude that sees marriage as a business transaction and family as co-workers.
This doesn't break any Harley modes, but it was engrossing and at the end of the day, Sorcha didn't get on my nerves -- always a plus in the world of HPs. I was a bit dissatisfied by something at the end but I didn't feel let down by Cesar's big revelation that he loved Sorcha and thought his grovel was worth the crime (and the page time).
Not a bad read. Would I read it again? Sure, it was pretty satisfying, but I don't think it will be a particularly, heh, memorable book. Would I buy it...? Mmmmmaybe, if I could find it in a bargain bin somewhere.

Loved this one this story is a sizzling sensual story of what happens when after 3 years the strong hard working Cesar Montero finally gets his PA Sorcha Kelly to sleep with him and the consequences will change his life forever and it will also change they way he shows emotions and feelings sit back and enjoy this story.
Cesar Montero comes from royalty in Spain he comes from a family that does not show love they show strength and Cesar does not trust easily he is a playboy who is pretty much committed to an arranged marriage with Diega from another Spanish family but has been putting off the announcement, and when he spends the wonderful time with his PA he drives to end the arrangement with Diega but an accident and loss of memory changes things and Cesar is left engaged to Diega but wondering.
Sorcha Kelly is Irish and has built herself up to be one of the best PA's there are she has had a tough time growing up but puts that away in a corner of her mind she is very close to her mother and sisters and knows what love is but when she is hired by the brooding Cesar she vows never to sleep with her boss so begins a 3 year "friendship" with Sorcha keeping her feelings for him under strong wraps that is until the time comes for her to leave and a night of unbridled passion that leaves consequences that Cesar does not know about till there is a mix up at the hospital.
Truly this is such a great story so many emotions so very sensual and heart-warming as we see Cesar open up and show emotions that have always been there just not shown he is such a loving caring hero and Sorcha is just the heroine he needs strong and loving and their son will help bring out so much in Cesar yes I loved this one from start to finish and I highly recommend this one don't miss it.

What an amazing read!
Sorcha was Cesar’s PA for three years. She hid her attraction for him, until one night when she realized that he was planning to marry Diega, the witch that his parents chose for him. She gave in to her desire for him and they spent the night together.
Cesar lusted after Sorcha for 3 years, after one night together he left her and went to Diega’s home. After leaving her home, he got into a car accident that left his with a week’s worth of memory loss. He did not remember his night with Sorcha until he received a call a week before his wedding asking him to provide blood sample for a DNA test in a baby swap.
Another story by this author that I loved. It was a great concept and the characters were well developed and you either loved them, or hated them! A definite Must Read !

A baby swap and poof! The truth is out and he knows he has a baby.
Though Ceser is not ecstatic but it is reason enough to extract himself from a bind he does not wish to be part of.
Sorcha on the other hand is distraught because she did not want Ceser to know. Not after all she had been made to go through.
But as fate would have it, he knows and they end up married.
That is not happily ever after yet though.
The story is wrought with so much emotion that it kept me on the edge of my seat and I was not the one anything was happening to. A story of which I desperately wanted to know of the next scene.
I can very well say that reading this story was a wonderful treat. The balance of emotion and heat is balance so as not to put the story itself on a lower level but it was intricately interwoven in a way that all love scenes became an integral part of the story.
If you're into romance, give it a try.

The Consequence He Must Claim by Dani Collins is laden with oodles of angst and drama. Ms. Collins doesn't fail to keep her readers riveted. She spins a tale where intense emotion, sizzling sexual tension and passion engulf the pages! Cesar Montero is suffering from amnesia due to an accident so clearly he has no memory of spending a passionate night in the arms of his personal secretary, Sorcha Kelly. However, Sorcha carries a secret with her after finding out Cesar is engaged—she is pregnant. It is the events which take place after Cesar finding out about his baby, which makes this story interesting. With likeable characters and a good storyline, The Consequence He Must Claim surely is a worthy read.

This is my second book by Dani Collins and she has proven herself to be a great storyteller. The major conflict in this book happens at the very beginning due to a baby swap in the hospital and the hero finding out he's a father. The rest of the book shows the hero and heroine trying to adapt to each other and married life. I loved that the hero never let the mean OW get away with any of her shenanigans and that the hero stood up for and made people respect the heroine and her family. This is part two in a two-book series and I'm about to read the first book "The Marriage He Must Keep" as the hero and heroine show up in this book. Very nice easy read with no angst.

Very well done. The Hero and his PA have the hots for each other for 3 years but, because they have a good working relationship, They dont act on it. In fact the Hero almost didnt hire the heroine because he was just so attracted to her.
There is some angst because he knows his family wants him to marry the daughter of some old friends, though not formally announced, the engagement is taken as an understanding by both families. The Hero has been dragging his heels because he doesnt really want the OW, and he is attracted to the heroine.
Anyway the heroine resigns, this kinda gives them license to act on their desire for each other. They have sex, but then the Hero goes off to talk to the OW, after the talk, he crashes his car and loses his memory of that last week including the night they slept together.
When the Hero wakes from his coma, he is perplexed and angry that his trusted PA has resigned and left and he is now officially engaged to the other woman. As the title states, there were consequences to their night together and though the heroine tries to see the Hero, the OW fends her off w lies.
Eight months later, the heroine’s baby is almost switched at birth (w the baby from the first book in this series) the Hero is contacted to provide DNA which is how he finds out he has a son.
I liked that the Hero immediately breaks it off w the OW and goes to the heroine. Though he is in shock, he believes everything the heroine tells him. She has always been a person he could trust and he does not lose sight of that now. Plus he had been waiting a long time to get into her pants so he’s kinda annoyed that when he finally did, he doesn’t remember it. 😁
But anyway, I liked how he trusted the heroine implicitly. She tells him how the OW prevented her from seeing him when he was in a coma, so he knows she at least tried. He is also aware of the inconsistencies in what the OW tells him, because she makes it seem like he groveled to her while he admitting that he only slept w the heroine, because she was a challenge. He, himself knows he would never have treated the heroine in this manner. He also thinks to himself that he would have had at least several months w the heroine before giving her up when he had to, and not just one night.
Anyways he hurriedly marries the heroine and they have to figure out their real feelings for each other. The Hero has been conditioned to be emotionless, since his parents are that way, so expressing love is hard for him, but all his actions reveal how very deeply he really feels for the heroine..

It was only in the second half that I started liking the book, after Cesare and Sorcha got married.
For the first half of the book I was not sure what was really going on. It was lacking in emotions. I found difficulty in connecting with the story or with Sorcha (and it wasn't that she was bad or did anything bad. The flash back scene of the BIG night where they finally succumbed to the sexual attraction between them was extremely boring. I felt that overwhelming passion that was supposed to have led them to have sex and break their promise of not getting sexually involved with one another, was badly missing. It felt like some job interview was going on - a cold negotiation.
I also don't get why a smart woman like Sorcha, who has made something of herself, rising above the poverty she and her family faced after her father's death , a woman who'd made a bold pitch to Cesar why he should hire her as his P.A, why would such a woman still cower under the condescending look of a former class fellow and other village people just because they have problems with her illegitimacy? Why did it have to take Cesar and his title to set the woman straight?
Having said all this, Sorcha did grow on me. I liked how she worked on her marriage, how instead of insisting on taking an outside job as she'd wanted to (as some heroines would insist to prove they are smart and strong as if married women and stay-at-home mothers are all dumb women), she sensibly decided to wait and first enjoy her role of wife, mother, future Duquesa, as well work on the couple's new home. I also liked how she took help of her newly found friend, Octavia, when faced with big society parties organized by her mother-in-law. Likewise, when faced with confirming to Cesar her love for him, she did not deny, but went ahead and confessed her love for him. I felt her pain when Cesar, who didn't know how to love, tells her he wasn't wired for it. I really liked how she handled her pain, even if she left for Ireland to help her mother.
I liked Cesar a lot. Considering how he grew up, bereft of any parental love, he was very nice to people around him, especially to Sorcha, her family and her friends. Liked how he went about fixing anything that upsetted Sorcha like telling his supposedly ex-fiancee, Diega, in front of everyone that she was no more welcome into his family, not caring if he annoyed his snooty parents who were sold out on making Diega their daughter-in-law. I was however very disappointed to see Diega getting away so lightly.
It was nice to see Cesar and his brother bond, despite the cold and sterile atmosphere they'd grown up in and his brother making him realizing his true feelings for Sorcha.
And, Cesar and Enrique bonding was the sweetest, especially the first time he held his son and was awed by him.
Cesar found himself lifting his brows in a silent “what now?”
Enrique’s tiny forehead furrowed with faint lines. His miniature brows climbed, reflecting the same query.
“Are you mocking me?” Cesar asked, astonished. A grin tugged at his mouth. Enrique’s little mouth pulled in what looked a lot like a wavering attempt at a smile.
The epilogue was awesome too. I had a hearty laugh. If you skim the first half of the book, it's not a bad read.

The events in the hospital, the baby swap, is what the story starts with. But before that, there is the prologue describing events from eight months before where Sorcha is going to tell Cesar about her being pregnant, but is stopped from doing so by Diega, his fiancee. Moreover, he has lost a week worth of memories after an accident.
I shouldn't be laughing, but the way she kicked out Cesar from her hospital room was funny. Cesar of course doesn't remember, but what he lacks in memory loss, Sorcha makes up for it in her reminisces into their shared past.
I don't know why, but I found the name Sorcha very scorching! The name seemed to automatically raise the hotness quotient of the story.
This sentence just melted my heart,

Those who will have read the first in the series will know this is a secret baby trope, linked through the drama the first book was based on. You don't have to read the first to understand what happened in this. I didn't enjoy this as much as I had the first one in this series.

I'm a sucker for a good amnesia story and this one was pretty good. It had the usual HP tropes (secret pregnancy/baby, evil OW, workplace romance), but it wasn't boring. The heroine was a likable character, thankfully she wasn't a doormat. She was ambitious and driven, I really enjoyed her POV. The chemistry and sex was hot, I liked the interaction and banter between the main couple.
I thought the ending wrapped up a little too quickly, but overall I liked it. I'd recommend for HP fans.
