This was definitely one of the best comedy-type books that I have read for the humor wasn't just one type but several thus expanding the reading range. I think I enjoyed some of the puns better while others that were directed toward celebrity humor wasn't really so much of a hit for me.
The concept was an interesting idea and for one that isn't a Twitter follower I can't vouch if it hit the mark or not. Otherwise the presentation of the date, the information (remember the warning these pages aren't meant for a doctoral thesis) presented and the follow-up of the 2-3 punch lines made for a quick yet light read that could at times be quite entertaining.
For those who aren't into popular culture there may be some confusion or jokes due to that factor. Otherwise some of the jokes also came from slightly older times thus reaching different generations while I enjoyed for one the use of theme from "Beverly Hillbillies", which brings back some memories.
In the end if you are into modern-look comedy or even a fan of late nights than I would suggest this book for read-over. And for those who are into history and/or sports (more sports than history) this book may give you a start if you find something interesting to look up in your own time.

In all the years I went to high school I had always been an A+ student which is one of the reasons why I had downloaded a free copy of this book from Amazon.
In this book the author, Bill Rodgers, takes a historical look at various dates in the history of several cities in Texas, famous and infamous people, as well as topics like oil/gas and sports/entertainment. He then provides his readers with a hilarious modern day 20-20 hindsight look at each of the items being offered, along with an appropriate humorous #HASHTAG which can be used in a Tweet.
Although I’m a “DAMNED YANKEE”, I still enjoyed the humor being offered here; but I believe I would have the humor even more if I had been from the “BIG T.” And because of this, I can’t resist giving this book 5 STARS.

This fun book will have you laughing your socks off! Even to the comment that perhaps people who spend a lot of time on Twitter need to get a life. I've been a "Texan" since 1985 and found it absolutely delightful! What I want to know now is: Bill, when will you do one of these on my home state of Michigan?

Can you imagine if history class was taught this way? I'm not sure what I expected when I started reading this but it turned out to be a quick, lighthearted, and yes, funny look at a variety of topics. I liked the structure of the book, the way it pokes fun at various regions or cities throughout the state. If you're looking for a quick read that pokes fun at Texas, this is a quick diversion

A hysterical quick read that takes a historical and humorous look at Texas history through the lens of modern day social media. The hashtags are the best! Highly recommended - a great gift!
