I'm a fan of the RHOOC and Heather is probably my favorite housewife, so I picked this up right away. It's down to earth, and their biting sense of humor really comes through. The book is very conversational in tone. I liked that she named products specifically, and even though I'm not interested in the surgical route at this point, it was interesting to know what Botox and other fillers really do, their pros and cons, etc. The book was surprisingly down to earth.

I thought they hyped their own line of products a lot here. It was a little too much for my taste. While the products, especially the vitamin line, might be worth trying, it came up a lot in Heather's section. I would have given it another star had that been handled better.

Anti-aging is a huge business. I'm not a "housewives" fan, but I do like the Dubrows..I'm also well versed in this industry. I didn't think I'd learn anything, but would have a nice read. I was so surprised. This book is a find! Heather gave a lot of reasonable (it helps that she's gorgeous!) tips that are doable for anyone. Terry gave down to earth, good advice for those wanting to go the surgical route. I would HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone. It's one of the best "beauty" books I've read in a long time. Thank you Net Galley, Bird Street Books/Ghost Mountain Books for the ACR in exchange for an honest review.

Good information resource to look youthful.
The concern of aging is taking force in our society and it is essential to be well informed of the treatments and products of the market since one runs the risk of being scammed, and worse still of suffering irreversible damages in health.
The authors are television celebrities and entertainingly provide us with a lot of information based on science and clinical results. In the first part there are practical solutions of beauty, hair and makeup, to look more youthful preventing surgery; and later a useful guide of products for skincare and to delay the aging process.
The content then deals in detail with the different types of plastic surgery procedures that exist and the alternative products that solve each condition or that do not work worsening it. It is very valuable information about possible complications that can occur and it is important to take it seriously.
The content is a good reference on the best treatments, anti-aging skincare, and procedures; There are also good suggestions of ingredients that you can find in pharmacies, and above all it is written in a humorous tone very entertaining.
My gratitude to the Publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to review the book

I was interested in finding out what Fancy Pants and Super Star Doc had to say bout beauty.
Yes, there are a few plugs for their new beauty line, most of the information was sound advice.
I find this a great book to read if you are considering plastic surgery at all. Terry breaks down most of the procedures and how they are done, along with down time and pain level. This was the best part of the book.
Heather provides beauty information, with a small plug for their beauty line, but gave generous other options you can use to get great results, even from drugstores.
This would make a great reference book to look at for every stage of your life.

We know Terry and Heather from their various reality television shows - and they've established themselves as experts when it comes to skincare and plastic surgery, so this book isn't a stretch like most celebrity beauty books. Heather's personality shows through as she shares her favorite products and procedures, with Terry's clinical descriptions (and warnings!) balancing it. I found myself making a shopping list as I read the makeup and skincare chapters.

With the constant advances in products and treatments, this certainly won't be "The only guide you'll ever need" but it's a good start for 2016.

I've never watched Real Housewives of anywhere, nor did I know who this guy was. While the read is good and the info pertinent, there was a subtle emphasis on the need to go under the knife to get it 'right'. The constant plug ins for their own line of products also didn't help matters. I've yet to see one of those guides really giving you options without having a secret agenda behind it all. I wasn't impressed at all by this book, sadly, especially after reading the likes of The Age Fix by Dr. Anthony Youn where you could see the selflessness and the true range of options (it even gave pointers on what the best drugstore products that really delivered results are! Far cry from this one where only their line was the best and safest and most effective ...)

I am not familiar with either of them or their shows. I liked the fact that they talked in every day language and they have a great sense of humor and it comes thru in their writing and they use sarcasm.... quite a bit. I thought they plugged their own line quite a bit.

Helpful Guide without being pushy

Good Book, doesn't really push products, just gives a list of what's good for your skin and I found helpful. Thank you.

Being a fan of the Housewives of OC, I was immediately interested in this title when I saw it. I knew from last season that the Dubrow's had launched a skincare line that they had spent a lot of time developing, so I figured this book would be really interesting. While there are a couple of mentions of this line, it is kind of expected and isn't too annoying. For instance, even though they will briefly suggest their products every now and then, they also suggest the ingredients to look for in alternatives.

The first part was the most interesting to me. It's mostly Heather's research and thoughts on makeup and haircare that can be tweaked to make you look younger instead of automatically trying to jump into plastic surgery to "fix" everything. She had a lot of good examples of how to incorrectly use makeup that made it easy to visualize where she was coming from.

The second part is more about skincare, what works and what doesn't, what ingredients to look for in products for certain skin concerns, etc. I mostly skimmed this section because I already knew a lot of it, but that's only because I spend a lot of time researching skincare myself. Overall there is a ton of great information in this section that could be used as a reference when looking for products.

The remainder of the book is mostly about plastic surgery procedures, the do's and don'ts, and a lot of in-depth information on procedures. It seems like they tried to exhaustively list all the different types of procedures and products you can have done/use for each concern you might have that plastic surgery could address. Terry goes to great lengths to also stress that these are surgeries after all, and they can have some major complications if you go to a bad doctor, or even if some 1% fluke happens during or after the operation. I really appreciated hearing that from his standpoint as one of the most famous plastic surgeons out there.

Overall this was a good read, and I think it would be best use as reference material if you were thinking about getting work done, or wanted to prevent needing it for as long as possible. Since I'm not personally interested in the former, the book trailed off for me at the end, but that's just a personal issue. For someone planning to have a procedure or two done I would say this is a must read.

Ever wondered why antiaging products and treatments really work and which are just hyped up nonsense that waste your money and - sometimes - even put your heath at risk? Real Housewife Heather Dubrow and her cosmetic surgeon husband Terry set the record straight once for all. While Heather tries every treatment in the book herself and shares her experience of what works and what didn't, Terry takes a look at the science to figure out if they have the potential to work or not. The couple covers every kind of antiaging treatment, from topical skincare products, Botox and fillers, and cosmetic surgery. FYI, this isn't a book to plug Terry's business. He's the first one to tell you when you DON'T need surgery - and what to expect, side effects and all, if you decide to go through with it. If you'd like to know what you could do to fight wrinkles, this book is a must have.

What a cracker of a book, it answers all those question you wanted to know about Botox, plastic surgery, enhancements etc and if you watch the TV show Botched you also get an insight into Terry Dubrow and what makes his talent for helping out so many people astonishing. This book covers a multitude of sins, provides the reader insight into moisturizers, creams out there that say they do so much for the skin but in fact do nothing and we have Mrs Guinea Pig to thank for that who has tried and tested them. Dr and Mrs guinea Pig have been down the road of trial and error.

This book is full of good advice, and also seems to untangle the very complex and convoluted world of plastic surgery, procedures, and cosmetics.

I love these two! They are humorous, loving, and very much together in wanting to share their personal and professional experiences with anti-aging treatments. This book is entertaining (love that they can poke fun of themselves) and extremely informative. While I don't believe in plastic surgery, I love that they give you a great deal of options to make yourself looking and feeling younger.
