I found this book fascinating and very well argued. Lots of information which surprised me, such as the possibility that Jesus did not partake of the Passover meal with his disciples as he was fasting in preparation for the trials that lay ahead. His knowledge of Semitic languages alongside Greek allows him to explore in depth the origins of the Eucharistic Words and compare how different strands of he tradition led to variation in the accounts. Well worth reading and easier than I thought it would be despite my difficulties following the Aramaic and Hebrew.

Very succinct and precise analysis of a very narrow subject - but this is great. Interesting different conclusions to JAT Robinson on the dating of Passover - must one day spend the time comparing in detail to see who I agree with
