Stories about matchmakers are fun, but when the matchmakers are men, well, I couldn't resist. Cooper, Ty and Gideon have been friends since high school. They live in Alaska and hang out at the local bar. Ty was a hockey star and was their ticket to the Lower 48, but a career-ending injury put a halt to those plans. One day, while watching a lifestyle report on TV, they came up with the idea that they would be great matchmakers. They made a bet with the owner of the bar, Coach, that they could get six couples to fall in love and ring the bell at the bar by Valentine's Eve, which would give them three weeks. If they won, Coach would give them jobs on one of his hockey teams.

Soon after making the bet, they realized that they had no clue what they were doing. They worked on convincing everyone they knew to fill out questionnaires and go on group dates. In each of their stories, a woman entered the picture who could be their perfect match, but there were obstacles to overcome. I liked the three men right away and Sophie, who was in the final story. The other two women, Nora and Kelsey, weren't my favorites, but I was okay with the way everything worked out.

Cooper, Ty and Gideon's efforts at matchmaking were entertaining and they made lots of mistakes along the way. I enjoyed all three stories, but the last one was my favorite. The authors did an amazing job of making the stories seamless. The major characters were in each of the stories and they were consistent. I also love that the stories are all clean! If you're looking for a fun Valentine's Day read, check this one out!!

You know a book is good if you are still thinking about it a couple days later! AND, you are "wondering" what the characters are up to now but then have to remind yourself they aren't real! I enjoyed this collection of stories about 3 best friends in a small Alaskan town who have known each other since grade school. They decide to make a bet with "Coach" who is the owner of the local bar/grill that they can be matchmakers for 6 couples in 3 weeks. No one in town can believe it since there are hardly any females and the males are fairly "set in their ways" but they give it a go! Cooper, Ty and Gideon want to win badly because if they do, they get to finally leave K-Bay (the name of the town) and work for one of Coach's hockey's teams in the Lower 48. They each have a different skill to offer and desperately want to leave town! Of course, THEY don't plan on being one of the couples!
COOPER'S story is first. Immediately, after making the bet with Coach, a woman with a baby comes into the bar wanting to see Cooper. She informs Cooper that it's HIS baby! At first he hardly remembers her (Nora) until she "jogs" his memory but then has to wrap his mind around the fact that he's now a father! I can't say that I liked Nora's character a lot in the beginning but she grew on me by the end of the story. I loved Cooper, however! He and his dad were great! I loved how Cooper just took to being a father and bumbled his way through, even though he didn't have a clue! Baby Zoe was such a sweet addition to the story!
TY was the next story. At first, I was a little confused about the female lead - Kelsey - in this story. She is a reporter who knew Ty in high school, even dated him for awhile, and essentially ruined his life with a story she wrote exposing some information. When she comes back to town, Ty is, of course, very "cool" to her. She is needing a juicy story to keep her job and thinks she can dig up something on Ty again, especially when she hears about this matchmaking scheme. I couldn't understand how they could get together if Kelsey had done this terrible thing to him once upon a time....but, later Ty spills a secret to her that he hasn't told anyone and the "game" changes so they both decide that they have dealt with issues from their past (she has some family issues from her past). Ty was a star hockey player and got injured badly after he left K-Bay, however, no one but him knows the whole story. Kelsey helps with his coming to terms about his past.
GIDEON finishes up the book. I loved this story! Gideon is on the "geeky side". He's so into computers, financial stuff and banking that he only got into the matchmaking bet with his friends because he wants to leave K-Bay and become "unstuck"! He's the manager of the only bank in town and he's SO bored! He's a finance guy and wants to be doing something interesting! Enter, Sophie! She's the owner of the flower shop and comes to the bank every Friday. It's the only bright spot of Gideon's week! He's never focused on that though....he's clueless! Sophie's always had a little crush on him too, but she is overwhelmed with life....keeping her shop open and having a delinquent brother! Finally, she asks Gideon to put her in the "dating pool" for the matchmaking thing because she wants to start dating. Gideon matches her with wrong guys because he doesn't want her to find someone other than him! Those dates are so funny! I enjoyed all the "mixers" these 3 guys set up. Hilarious what you have to come up with in Alaska! So, finally Gideon and Sophie.....two rather shy folks...find each other and Sophie develops a backbone towards her delinquent brother! I especially loved the epilogue that tied everything together for all 3 couples. You just have to read the book to see who wins the bet!!!!!

The three men the novellas focus on are just feeling sorry for themselves for being stuck in a rut in their small hometown in Alaska. Their angst and the bar setting with the drinking was off-putting, but once they put their efforts into helping the single members of the community improve their social lives the stories got more fun as they came up with interesting group activities to do in the dead of winter. The first two stories were okay but I loved the third one! It redeemed the book for me.

Cooper is full of self pity since he feels trapped by taking care of his dad and being there for his friend, as if he only had one opportunity to leave and he missed it. When a one night stand shows up with his baby daughter seeking financial support, it makes him reevaluate what he wants out of life. I felt like his opportunity for love just fell in his lap, without much effort on his part.

Ty is full of self loathing after screwing himself out of his chance to make the big leagues in hockey, thus depriving his two best friends and himself the chance to ditch Alaska. Ex-girlfriend Kelsey was not someone I connected with since she had a cold hard exterior that looked for the worst in people. I understood them more as layers of their history was revealed (although vague) and they turned to each other instead running away.

Gideon's story was my favorite since the girl he had a secret crush on was crushing right back, but some complications were preventing them from realizing their shared feelings. He didn't wallow in regret as much as the other guys, and was very active in the matchmaking work. Sophie was a likable character with her kind and cheerful attitude and perseverance so I was rooting for her to find love. The special moments between the two were butterfly inducing and toe curling, just what I love about reading romance!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I am a sucker for stories set in Alaska so I was very happy to read this group. I have a favorite, Suddenly Sophie by Anna J. Stewart but let me tell you a bit about all three. In Baby, Baby, I admit that it took me a looooooooooonnnnnnnggggggggg time to start to like Nora Perry, our heroine in this first story. Without any spoilers, to me she was just as culpable as Cooper Hamilton (our hero). I just wanted to say, “Get over yourself!” But she redeemed herself as you read the story and they get their HEA. This first story served as an intro to most of the characters in this book so it was fun. And I loved clueless Coop. In The Matchmaker Wore Skates, I’ll admit to being a bit confused trying to follow the storyline but it all worked out. This story is about our second hero, Ty Porter, and Kelsey Nash, our second heroine, and it seems that she is the person the town likes to say is the instigator of all Ty’s woes. Of course, she isn’t really, but she and Ty have a past and they need to both work thru issues before they, too, can have their HEA. And to my favorite: Suddenly Sophie. I just loved Gideon. Smart, intelligent, and utterly clueless, of course! He is our third bachelor/hero and his heroine to be is Sophie Jennings. Again, I’ll admit to shaking my head to some of the things Sophie does and says but mostly because I’ve been there/done that and had the teeshirt stolen. So I get it. And when she and Gideon finally work out their issues? It is funny and sweet and poignant. It just made me smile. Loved the supporting characters in each story and there were laugh out loud moments where I sounded like a loon. I recommend these “sweet” stories.

What do you do when you are three grown men stuck in a small town in the very cold and isolated part of Alaska? You make a bet with the local bartender that you can become the town's very own trio of matchmakers, of course! Following three rough and burly men as they take on a town of men that only shave once a year and would rather ice fish and swap stories over beers than converse with the opposite sex: Cooper Hamilton, Ty Porter, and Gideon Walker have their work cut out for them. On top of running a successful matchmaking business, they soon realize that they have problems of their own, and cupid may just have a few tricks up his sleeve. A one night stand that turns into cute cuddly baby dressed in pink, a corrupt hockey player that carries scars that hide the true secrets behind them, and surprise crushes are all stories that play a part in creating a fun, cute, Valentine’s Day romantic book. This was a cute book that took three separate stories and intertwined them. The authors did an amazing job overlapping the characters in each tale. I love books like these and can’t wait to read more.

Make Me A Match - Three Authors, three stories.
Three lifetime friends and bachelors that turn into matchmakers to win a bet. Cooper Hamilton, Ty Porter and Gideon Walker had plans for their future that fell apart. Now they have another chance to get their dream life because of a bet. But is that the life they really want?
Melinda Curtis
Cooper Hamilton has another chance to get the life he’s always wanted. Nora Perry shows up with something that could be the best or worst surprise of his life.
Cari Lynn Webb
Ty Porter former pro athlete. His past in the form of reporter Kelsey Nash comes back to haunt him or maybe save him and herself.
Anna J. Stewart
Gideon Walker the banker isn’t reviewing loan applicants. He’s reviewing potential matchmaking candidates for Sophie Jennings or is he.
These three authors seamlessly tell three different stories and each one pulls you in and keeps you turning the pages.
Great reads. I highly recommend them.

Three short stories based on a bet . Set in Alaska where men outnumber the ladies 3 to one, a bet has Ty, Cooper and Gideon trying to match 6 couples and if they win they get dream jobs in the lower 48 with a pro hockey team. Sort of predictable it's still a fun read with each of the gentlemen matching each other with very special women. Perfect with Valentine's day coming up.

I loved this grouping of short stories. They were seamless and funny and quirky. The Alaskan town and all its natives were a fantastic backdrop. The three bachelors and bachelorettes were fun and easy to read!

Make Me a Match is a short Anthology featuring three interconnected stories from Melinda Curtis, Cari Lynn Webb and Anna J. Stewart. Set in Alaska, Cooper, Ty, and Gideon take a bet to get back in to the hockey world. If they can match 6 couples that find real love, they will get jobs working for one of Coach's teams in the lower 48.

Baby, Baby by Melinda Curtis
Rating: 2 Stars

This one didn't work for me at all. It starts out with Cooper Hamilton being surprised with a visit from a one night stand that he does remember arriving in town with a baby she claims is his daughter. Cooper being a complete bachelor wants a paternity test, but the more time he spends with Nora and her daughter Zoe, the more he falls for the baby girl and her mom.

My biggest issue here was that I didn't like Nora. She was extremely judgmental and pretty awful to Cooper for the majority of their story. She showed up out of the blue with a baby and expected him to just accept it and that she would leave again once he handed over money. It really felt like she wouldn't have bothered to tell him at all if she hadn't needed financial support. I honestly saw no connection form between these two with Nora constantly having a negative attitude towards Cooper and making assumptions about him. Cooper was really good with Zoe, and he had been through so much. He came around really quickly for having his life turned upside down yet again, and I wanted Nora to see that. Unfortunately her abrupt change of opinion at the end of the book was too rushed to be believable for me. This one was a miss all around, though I liked Cooper a lot.

The Matchmaker Wore Skates by Cari Lynn Webb
Rating: 3 Stars

I liked this story a little better than the first. Ty Porter is a former pro-hockey player. He was badly injured an a reporter ruined his career with a couple of features she wrote. Now years later as he and his friends have a shot at once again getting back into hockey, she returns looking for another story. Ty and Kelsey once had something together, but with her career on the line, she will do whatever it takes to get her story.

Once again I had trouble liking the heroine. Kelsey was so determined to be on the top of her career, and she had little to no regard for who she had to step on to get her there. Yes she had some stories that helped others, but it seemed like she was very selfish and only out for her own success. I didn't like how she could do what she did to someone that she knew and had romantic feels for, it just felt like her feelings couldn't have been that genuine if she could turn around a do that to him. She ruined his career and never looked back. While things did feel pretty rushed at the end, I did find it more believable than the first story in this anthology since Kelsey and Ty had more history than Coop and Nora did. I wanted to like these two together since I am a huge fan of second chance romance stories, but it was hard to overcome my dislike of Kelsey.

Suddenly Sophie by Anna J. Stewart
Rating: 4 Stars

This was my favorite story of the anthology! Gideon Walker has a history with Sophie Jennings. He hated having to turn her down for a loan to expand her flower shop, but he knew that her brother would find a way to take the money as he did everything else. But when Sophie comes to him asking to be a part of his matchmaking service, he sets out to find her a match. Except with each new date, he starts to realize that the only person she should be dating is him.

I really liked Sophie and Gideon. They were great for one another, and I liked that they had a bit of a connection going into this story. Sophie was sweet and caring, and loyal to her brother even when he didn't deserve it. While I didn't agree with her letting him get away with as much as she did, it was good to see her stand up to him at the end. He needed some tough love and I was glad she got there. Gideon had been doing his best to look out for her when he could, and I really liked that he had her best interests at heart even if it didn't seem that way at first. This one was cute, and I enjoyed it a lot.

Overall

Overall, there were some cute moments and these were light and easy to read. If you are looking for a set of short and clean romance stories, this is one worth giving a shot. Coop, Ty and Gideon were a lot of fun and I think that readers will enjoy seeing these men try their hand at matchmaking.

This collection of short stories has been a pleasure to read. It's a collection that tells of what happens to three friends when they make a bet that can make all there dreams come true, if they win. Melinda Curtis, Cari Lynn Webb and Anna J. Stewart tell Coop, Ty and Gideon's stories respectively, and as the stories evolve, each one will see life a little differently to what they thought before they took the bet. If you like any of these authors on their own, you won't be disappointed in this collection, they make a brilliant team, and this was a pleasure to read. Below is a description of each book individually as well.
I received an ARC for an honest and fair review

Baby Baby. - Melinda Curtis

Coop has dreamt about getting out of his home town and Alaska his whole life, but everything has been against him, his Dad's accident, Ty's accident, nothing has gone to plan. Then he makes a bet with the publican at the local bar, a blast from his past walks in the door, and his world is about to change like he never dreamed. Nora is after one thing, and one thing only, money from Coop, she doesn't want anything else, especially his broken promises and lies, she's had enough of that from her Dad. Nora winds up trapped in Kenkamken Bay (K-Bay) after storms, and learns maybe Coop isn't all she thought he was.
I really enjoyed this story, Melinda has done a fantastic job of portraying Coop and Nora, and that need to judge everyone and find them lacking. I enjoyed watching the characters evolve, and learn more about themselves by looking at how others see them. If you have liked Melinda's other stories, you I'll thoroughly enjoy his one too.

The Matchmaker Wore Skates - Cari Lynn Webb

Ty has had a hard life, living with his fathers demons, and his own dark secret, the last thing he needs is old high school sweetheart Kelsey coming back into his life, she broke his heart once, he's not sure he can cope again. Kelsey know that Ty's hiding something, and she's determined to find out no matter the consequences, as a journalist, that's her job.
I liked the different spin with this part of the story, that neither Ty nor Kelsey were innocent, both had made mistakes, not your typical do no wrong characters, their flaws make them both endearing. Once again Cari has done a fantastic job writing her characters.

Suddenly Sophie - Anna J. Stewart

Gideon is bored with his life, yes in terms of work he's excelling, bank manager at 25, but he feels stale, his dreams of true success went up in flames with his friend Ty's injury when they were 18. Now he has to find a romantic match for the one woman that stirs his emotions. Sophie just wants to not feel alone, to find that someone special who feels she's special too, shame the only guy she's liked thinks nothing of her, and now she's had to stoop to asking him to join her up to find a man.
Gideon and Sophie are both so relatable, scared to admit how they feel for the fear of rejection, and even so far as not wanting to hurt each other, and seeing how much assumptions about other effect our choices in life

Note: I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review.

Well, this trio of authors has delivered another great read. The stories are fun, yet deliver some life lessons at the same time.

The collection opens with a scene showing 4 men - 3 best friends and their coach from high school days. The three have had mutual goals of leaving their small town, Alaska, and landing jobs in the Lower 48. However, one event after the next has blocked them. Now, they're in their mid 20's and still in Alaska. Suddenly, the conversation turns to matchmaking and the result is that they've made a bet with the coach - if they win, he'll provide jobs for them on a hockey farm team he owns in the Lower 48. They lose and they have to produce a full page ad about all the wonderful reasons to live in Alaska. What happens after that is a fun series of stories that span approximately 3 weeks.

In the first story, Baby Baby by Melinda Curtis, Cooper Hamilton's past catches up to him. Even though there's a serious angle to the story, I still found myself laughing throughout.

Major themes - taking responsibility of your actions and following through with promises.
Secondary themes - alcohol use and morality

In the next story, The Matchmaker Wore Skates by Cari Lynn Webb, Ty Porter has secrets that he fears will not only ruin his future plans, but also his reputation and relationship with his best friends. Can he accept a second chance at love and overcome his fears?

Major themes - owning up to your past mistakes and facing your fears.
Secondary themes - the strength of friendships / trusting your friends

My complaint with this particular story is the ending. I wanted more closure with the newspaper article and all that entailed. It seemed too tidy and neat. I felt that a lot was glossed over and ignored.

The final story in the lineup is Suddenly Sophie by Anna J Stewart. Gideon Walker only wants to protect Sophie Jennings, but she thinks he dislikes her. Then, when he sets her up on some truly awful dates, she's convinced he hates her. What's a man to do when he realizes that he wants to be her next date?

Major themes - family responsibility - how far does it go?

Overall, I found the stories pleasant and entertaining. I thought the plotline of men acting as matchmakers was original and creative.

Language - PG
Romance - PG - Kissing only

My overall rating - 5 stars

Make Me a Match contains three novellas by Melinda Curtis, Cari Lynn Webb, and Anna J. Stewart. I was given an advance copy for my honest review. I love anything I’ve read by Melinda Curtis (also Mel Curtis) and Anna J. Stewart and this was a first read for me by Cari Lynn Webb. I thoroughly enjoyed the three stories and loved how the authors wove the characters and stories together so flawlessly, it felt like I was reading one cohesive story by one author.

Childhood friends Coop Hamilton, Ty Porter, and Gideon Walker grew up playing hockey together in Kenkamken Bay, Alaska and had hopes of leaving Alaska for bigger things in the lower 48.

In BABY, BABY by Melinda Curtis the story begins when Coop, Ty and Gideon see a story by a former K-Bay classmate on matchmaking. They jokingly say they could do a better job than she and end up betting their former hockey coach and bar owner friend they can match six couples before Valentines day. K-Bay is full of bachelors, but not so many single women. The friends have their hands full. No spoilers from me, but someone from Coop’s past blows into town and changes things forever.

In THE MATCHMAKER WORE SKATES by Cari Lynn Webb, the story continues as the friends have now matched two couples and still need four more before Valentines day. Ty Porter has his life turned upside down by the former love of his life who hits town trying to get her career back on track. It just so happens she is the journalist who gave them the idea to form their matchmaking business. Again, no spoiler, but the three friends make two more matches.

In SUDDENLY SOPHIE by Anna J. Stewart the story continues as the friends struggle to match burly Alaskan bachelors with their perfect matches. Gideon is ready for his escape from Kenkamken Bay and knows that his love, Sophie, would never want to leave K-Bay. So he matches Sophie with inappropriate date after date before he sees he’s made a huge mistake, but will it be too late? No spoiler from me…grab it today and you’ll enjoy reading as much as I did.

I had it finished in one day, while on a weekend relaxation vacation. I read in the car as my husband drove, I read in a long hot bath, and finished on the drive home. You won’t be disappointed.

Ty, Coop, and Gideon have spent their whole lives trying to get out of their small hometown K-Bay. This book, three in one, follow their journey of one last shot. Here the deal... They have two weeks to help six couple fall in love and ring the bell over the bar. (Yes, a bar but its more like a diner because everyone is welcome, even kids)

Book One- Cooper and Nora. Nora shows up at the bar one night with a baby. Is it Coops? Don't know yet, but they are snowed in for now so time will tell. Okay, YES, it is Coop's baby. I mean c'mon they have the same nose. This first book follows the two of them fighting and falling in love. Along with crazy match making by the three guys....

Book Two- Ty and Kelsey. They grew up together, she wanted to be a reporter and used Ty and his mess ups to make her dreams come true. So its safe to say she was the last person he wanted to see... But she was having trouble with inspiration and came back to K-Bay for another story. Of course, Ty being a crappy liar (and prolly weighed down by all his secrets kept from his two best friends) let it all just roll out on a silver platter for her career. Hold up though, she does something you wouldn't expect...

Book Three- Gideon and Sophie. This was prolly my fav simply because Gideon is crazy... Sophie is the towns flower shop owner and wants to finally date. So, Gideon sets her up with the craziest people (he calls them safe) only to hurt himself worse... When they finally stop playing around their beautiful together for the whole two minutes we get to enjoy it....

Thrown into all of these are great towns people giving these nuts a chance to find them someone to love. If your from a small town you understand exactly how they feel, and know their pain. Baby Zoe was a great addition to this story as well. She was the focus point a lot of times, and brought out the best in others. (That's what I like to think of all babies) You will love all these characters just as much as I did. Then when you finish, you'll be sad and in NEED of more :)

Make Me a Match is an enjoyable novella collection centering on three best friends who are promised hockey jobs outside of Alaska if they can get six couples together before Valentine's Day. The premise is the stuff of Hallmark films, and it's great for a rainy day. (Or in my case today, a snow day!)

Baby, Baby by Melinda Curtis: When Nora shows up in town with a baby in tow, Coop is hesitant to believe she could be his. But soon Nora—and her baby—begin to soften Coop's heart. I really loved Nora, and I enjoyed her interactions with Coop's dad. It was Coop himself I didn't care much for, and the "happily ever after" ending came a little too quickly to be realistic. 3 stars.

The Matchmaker Wore Skates by Cari Lynn Webb: Journalist Kelsey ruined Ty's life once. When she returns to K-Bay looking for another story, Ty is determined to keep her away from his biggest secret. But the chemistry the two once had is stronger than ever, and Ty begins to wonder if he and Kelsey may really have a future. I definitely enjoyed this story, but I felt like I never truly understood Kelsey and her motivations. While the romance was believable, it also felt a bit rushed. 3-1/2 stars.

Suddenly Sophie by Anna J. Stewart: When Sophie asks Gideon to find her a match, he can't find anyone worthy of her ... because he wants her for himself. Of the three stories, this one was by far my favorite. I felt like it was the most complete of the stories, and I loved Gideon and Sophie's interactions. Also, it was quite funny! 4 stars.

While I enjoyed some of the novellas more than others, they all felt like they went together. Sometimes, novellas that are connected but are written by different authors don't feel cohesive, but in this case, the collection flowed seamlessly from one novella to the next. While I wouldn't call Make Me a Match a must-read, it is an enjoyable way to pass an afternoon. 3-1/2 stars.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free for review through Prism Book Tours. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

This set is about three men who all have a dream they want to come true and things have a way of changing your future in a whole new direction. They make a bet with a friend of theirs and now they have started a matchmaking business. Who wins the bet, you need to buy the set to see.

Baby Baby by Melinda Curtis was about a man named Cooper and a lady from his past. I always hate saying to much about the book and giving the best parts away. So let me just say that his dreams were focused on him and his friends until he realized there was more to life than that. Watch a tough guy do a complete turnaround.

The book made you laugh, cry (in a good way). A great read.

The Matchmaker wore skates by Cari Lynn Webb
This book is about Ty who has plans to get back into hockey until he meets someone from his past. Kelsey is a reporter on a mission and when these two get together again let's just say things just don't turn out like they thought it would. Kelsey is trying to see if she can figure out why Ty has decided to start a matchmaking business and write a story on it or is she looking to write about something else. Read the story to see what you think.

All I can say is I loved the book and think you will too.

The third book in this set is Suddenly Sophie by Anna J. Stewart

This book is about Gideon who was the last of the three men in the matchmaking business. Gideon was the one in charge of all the computer aspects, the questionaires, keying in the information and then having the computer tell him who would be perfect for each other. He also worked at the bank.

Sophie owns the flower shop and makes her deposits for the flower shop at the bank where Gideon is the manager. Gideon has turned her down for a loan to expand her shop. He thinks she harbors ill feelings but then she approaches him and asks about their matchmaking services.

Sound interesting, it is, you really need to read this set it is fantastic. I loved all three books

I have a soft spot in my heart for matchmakers and this one really intrigued me with three men doing the matching. Each story is about one of the Trinity--three men who have been friends since childhood and who are pretty much like brothers. Ty is set to go pro in hockey, before an injury ended his career. Gideon and Cooper were ready to ride on his coattails to get out of small town Alaska and head to the Lower 48. Each is desperate to get out of K-Bay and a bet made after seeing a news segment about matchmaking with bar owner, Coach, is just their ticket. If they can match six couple and have them ring the bell before Valentine's day, Coach will get them jobs with one of his hockey teams...and that's all it takes to motivate them.

I'm not big on the bar scene, so at first I was a little disgusted with these men. It seemed that all they did was work and hang out at the bar, wishing their lives away, instead of taking action and doing something about it. But as I got to know each of them, through their stories, better, I realized that there is more to them than at first meets the eye and I grew to love them. I enjoyed watching the matching play out, as some situations were quite funny, but Gideon's story is my favorite. There's something about him that just warms my heart and Sophie is such a sweet girl. The other two women seemed to have an agenda.

There are many fine lessons on family, loyalty, honesty, and priorities within these pages. Each story and situation is so different, yet common threads run through them. I loved that each story has a unique voice, which is really pronounced by having a different author write each one. I enjoyed my time in Kenkamken, Alaska with these great people!

Content: no language; mild violence; mild romance (innuendo, kissing, implied premarital relations). Clean.

Three bachelors make a bet they can match up six people for true love which puts this Alaskan town through many events this town has never seen.

Baby, Baby – Melinda Curtis
Nora surprised Cooper when she walked there is a memory that comes to mind that he knows this lady. This lady gives him the shock of his life and just might be the dream he has no idea he has been living for. Nora came for one reason and one reason only what she finds might give her hope that dreams can come true.

The Matchmaker Wore Skates - Cari Lynn Webb
Knowing each other from childhood, making mistakes and failing seeing the end but wishing for more. These two have a past and sparks fly when Kelsey comes back to town. Ty sure isn’t happy to see her as he tries to put her in her place. She just wants another story but what she might find is the one thing she never had true love. First they must face their past to find their future.

Suddenly Sophie - Anna J. Stewart
Sophie is looking for love in all the wrong place. The trio have made some wonderful matches and she wants in on the action. She is hoping to find the man of her dreams or at least someone to spend time with. Gideon isn’t too happy he doesn’t think anyone is good enough for this wonderful lady. They each have always had a crush on each other but neither knew about it. Will Gideon stake his claim to lead her to the arms of another man?

These are well written stories about second chances, overcoming ones past and looking a little deeper at one’s self. It is one major story with three in between where these authors come together blending the story more or less into one each telling a part. It is well balanced with each author complementing the other. This is a heartwarming clean read which leaves you with a feeling of peace.

Kenkamken Bay, Alaska is an isolated and lonely place. At least for three bachelors who want to be in the lower forty-eight. Their plan to get out is to be matchmakers and win their bet with Coach, the bar owner where they hang out. What happens next is pure romance. Do they succeed? In Baby, Baby by Melinda Curtis Cooper Hamilton gets the surprise of his life when Nora Perry tracks him down with a baby in toe and announces that he's the father. Let the fireworks begin! I love the chemistry and tension between these two. Now the shoe is on the other foot. Coop wants to be a daddy and Nora wants to run away. I was amazed at the transformation in the playboy. The next story is The Matchmaker Wore Skates by Cari Lynn Webb. Ty Porter comes face to face with Kelsey Nash. She was his girlfriend in high school. Then she used his confidences to write a expose that ended his hockey career. Now she's back to do it all again. Her career needs a boost. It took me awhile to understand her and her insecurities. When Ty gives her another blockbuster story, I was touched by his selflessness. He revealed his darkest secret even though it might cost him his friends. The last story is Suddenly Sophie by Anna J. Stewart. Gideon Walker is an uptight banker who's in a rut. He wants things to change and this bet will accomplish that. He's smitten on Sophie Jennings, but she's sacrificing her dreams to save her brother from himself. He wants her to choose him. If she can't, he'll walk away. I laughed when as the matchmaker he keeps pairing Sophie with "safe" dates. These two are a perfect match. I loved their chemistry. This anthology is so enjoyable. I was hooked and cheered as these three best friends each got their second chance at love.

This is a set of three novellas written by three different authors about a set of three friends in K-Bay Alaska and how each of them finds love. Coop is surprised when Nora tracks him down with a baby in tow and claims that it is his. While he is stunned, being the certified bachelor that he is, the little bundle of joy makes him want things that he has never thought about before. All the time he is trying to match up six couples in their hometown to get a job in the Lower 48 from their ex high school hockey coach.

Ty was the local hockey star who was supposed to have been the ticket out of town for the three friends, but a self inflicted accident caused the dream to crash. A crash which was recorded in excruciating details by former girlfriend Kelsey. Now she is back in town to cover their crazy match making business and he's pulling back hoping that she doesn't take away the last of his secrets to make her new headlines.

Gideon is just about ready to run out of town and being its staid banker is not making him feel any better. The matchmaking bet is about to give him a great chance to get out of K-Bay and he's bound to its success. However when Sophie asks to be matched up with someone, there is no way he feels that he can give her to someone else in town. How is he ever going to let her go to someone else when he realizes just how deeply his heart is involved.

Really enjoyed the creative way the three authors have brought the town and characters alive. Well worth reading. I received an ARC for an honest opinion.

I absolutely loved these stories. They are sweet and humorous love stories. You have three bachelors that make a bet that they can match up six people and help them find true love. The men not realizing how difficult it could be when the men out the number the woman in K-bay.
In Baby, Baby you have Coop. Coop has a one nigh stand and months later Nora appears with a big surprise. A baby! While Coop is in shock and in denial, everyone else sees that Zoe is his. Coop starts to fall in love with Nora and Zoe but Nora doesn't trust Coop. Nora struggling with her issues of her dad not being around doesn't fully trust Coop. Can they get past these issues.
In The Matchmaker you have Ty and Kelsey story. Ty hurt and still feels betrayed by the story Kelsey wrote about him. Kelsey comes back to K-bay to write another story. Ty not happy with her being there, especially when he's still keeping secrets that can hurt his friendship with his friends. When Ty and Kelsey see each again sparks fly. Will they be able to get past their differences?
In Suddenly Sophie, you have Gideon and Sophie story. Sophie decides to ask Gideon for help finding a match. Gideon not happy matching her up finds himself jealous. Neither one ready yet to voice their attraction. Will they fill speak up?
You will fall in love the characters of this town. You will finding yourself rooting for each couple. Melinda, Cari and Anna did an amazing job working together and making these stories flow as one. Will not disappoint. Received copy for honest review

Three bachelors turned ‘matchmakers’ to win a bet set off a string of events in this Alaskan town.
I love reading collections where different authors come together to write stories where a group of characters come together and interact in each of the different works. Each of these are novella length and would not completely stand-alone – but almost.
Baby, Baby – Normally the Heartwarming novels are clean. I would consider this more sketchy clean – or PG-13. We aren’t privy to details, but we know there is a one night stand, innuendos, and I think language. It does a good job of introducing the characters who are carried through all of the stories. I didn’t always love the interactions between Nora and Coop so it was a stretch for me for their ending. Three stars.
The Matchmaker Wore Skates – Cute story with some depth and fun. These characters could be people we know. I was glad there was some backstory to help the readers have sympathy for our lead characters. Four stars.
Suddenly Sophie – I loved this story. Oh man did it have some funny moments. I couldn’t wait to see the next disastrous date. The forest date – snort worthy. I loved Gideon and his surveys and all the things he truly didn’t get. I also enjoyed the small secondary ‘bell ringer’s’ story. So sweet. Five stars.

Rating for collection: 4 stars
Content: depended on the story. Noted in the review for the first story, kissing in the second two.

These three connected novellas, written by three different authors, are full of fun and adventures in Kenkamken Bay (K-Bay), Alaska. Three lifelong, bearded 25-year-old friends, Tyler (Ty), Cooper (Coop), and Gideon have had dreams of having professional ice hockey careers. Instead, Cooper sells vehicles. Ty was a pro, but due to circumstances, works at the local outdoor rink. Gideon is the town bank's manager. The K-Bay Bar & Grill is where they hang out when not working, with Coach at the helm, who was their childhood ice hockey coach. In the hopes of obtaining professional jobs, they make a bet with Coach, forming Trinity Matchmaking, where they must find love for six couples. Each novella tells the story of each of them. Since the number of men greatly outnumber the available females, and the men's idea of date planning is totally different than what a group of females would be interested in, you will find yourself laughing and commiserating with the females going through these date nights. This was a fun, light book that I really enjoyed. [I received this advanced copy in exchange for a fair review.]

What a fun idea for a book. This book is three novellas in one, each revolving around one of three characters that we meet in the first book. They are friends who have common interests and goals and get sucked into a bet of sorts where they become the town matchmakers. It's a funny concept because these men are in no way suave or experienced in that way. Actually, they are kind of lunk heads. Each novella follows one man and his journey in love- even though that's not what he is looking for.

I liked all three books, the last one probably being my favorite of the bunch. The first book sets things up and the last one ties things together. I liked that each book was by a different author. It helped separate the characters and define them as individuals with their own voice.

It is no secret that I am a fan of Harlequin Heartwarming line. I love that there is a whole line of books dedicated to the sweet and clean. I know I can pick up any book from this line and not have to worry about content. It is always a happy day when I can read a book from this line.

Content: Some references to one night stands, casual sexual relationships, drinking alcohol.

This was a fun romance collection!
Three friends make a bet that they can find love matches for the single women and men in their small town in Alaska, but how do three confirmed bachelors make matches for others when they can't find love themselves?
In Baby, Baby by Melinda Curtis Cooper Hamilton has a one night stand with Nora Perry that leaves her with the most precious gift, but there is absolutely no way that means that they are a love match until Cooper makes Nora see things differently.
In The Matchmaker Wore Skates by Cari Lynn Webb former pro athlete Ty Porter doesn't want to have anything to do with his long lost love Kelsey Nash because she is a reporter and from past experience he knows that she most possibly will stab him in the back divulging his most guarded secret.
In Suddenly Sophie by Anna J. Stewart Gideon Walker has a long history with Sophie Jennings and even though he has always had feelings for her he hasn't been able to do anything right to get her to take notice until he sets her up repeatedly with the wrong men.

I was given an ARC for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

This is a compilation of three short stories that revolve around a group of friends. Cooper Hamilton, Tyler Porter and Gideon Walker have been friends forever in a small Alaskan town, and have common goals for what their future should be. On a lark, they take part in a bet that makes them matchmakers for the town.

BABY,BABY by Melinda Curtis - Coop gets the surprise of his life when Nora Perry shows up in the neighborhood bar looking for him to talk about the consequences of their special night in Anchorage last spring.

THE MATCHMAKER WORE SKATES by Cari Lynn Webb - Ty had his chance in the NHL and had it go up in flames in scandal after home-town reporter Kelsey Nash ruined his career with her sneaky headlines and exposes. When she shows back up in town, what will she cost him this time?

SUDDENLY SOPHIE by Anna J. Stewart - Gideon doesn't want Sophie Jennings hooked up with just any loser in town, so he plans matches extra special ... if only they turned out that way. Will she forgive him?

My 4 star review is mostly for Anna Stewart's story, Suddenly Sophie. I connected best with her characters Gideon and Sophie...more so than I did with Coop and Nora or Ty and Kelsey ( wasn't her fan at all). I also felt the first two stories were rushed, which is sometimes a problem with novellas, especially connected ones.
The premise was interesting...3 guys becoming matchmakers to win a bet, which will enable them to leave their small Alaskan town. Circumstances 7 years earlier kept them home, so they are hoping this is their ticket to the lower 48.
While I don't have any complaints about the first story, Baby, Baby (other than that it seemed rushed), I really think that Ty and Kelsey's story was missing closure. I don't want to say anything else so I don't spoil it.
The writing was great, I think I would have preferred longer stories. I really like all the authors included in this set; I think their fans will be pleased.

I was given this book free for writing an honest review by Melinda Curtis and Anna Stewart. This book set was fantastic. Three best friends known to take bets take on a bet from their former hockey coach and small town bar owner. The bet was to make love matches by Valentines day.

Imagine what 3 confirmed bachelors will come up with to beat the bet. will the set up romantic settings. Will they turn over new leaves for all the gentleman and ladies in town?

Watch as the hilarity and drama proceed. Listen out for the secrets revealed. is there success or failure? Will the hometown heroes and business men leave their small town behind for glorious jobs in the lower 48?

These questions and more will be answered as you read and find yourself sitting in the bar watching the real life like drama unfold. Get your copy today!

Make Me a Match contains a trio of stories by Melinda Curtis, Cari Lynn Webb, and Anna J. Stewart. The novellas are matrimony themed romances set in the same town in Alaska. Each story evokes laughter and a sense of fun from the imagination of the reader due to the interaction of the characters. With the use of male protagonists, these novellas provide a real and visual perspective that is counter to the traditional portrayal of matchmaking efforts in other books using a female perspective. Overall a fun engaging look at dating, marriage, and relationships from the male standpoint. I received an ARC for review. I really loved each individual novella and enjoyed that it was a themed trio of stories allowing the reader to enjoy the continuation of the plot to the finish in the last novella. I would highly recommend this book for a fun and entertaining read.
