This is supposed to be a recent academic text. The sections of pornography and trafficking were so bad that this book isn't worth reading. They were basically heavily biased in opposing sex work and emphasized an interpretation of the data that wasn't adequately justified at all. They also were very selective in what research they cited (as well as how they presented it). It just wasn't remotely a balanced presentation of the evidence. At least the section on trafficking mentioned the "white slavery" nonsense that was part of why prostitution was made illegal in the USA in the first place. Anyway, the editors should have known better, considering the year this was published.
