We keep hearing about weakening faith in our country, but God is alive and well in America. He is working right here and now in people of faith. This book will awaken your heart and soul to his presence and to the power of Christianity today, which will in turn ignite your faith and change your world.Christians in America are inundated with negative stories and statistics about the decline of the faith. Awakening is a very encouraging counter balance of astounding stories of God at work all around the world, and it will inspire you to take part.Brown shares a collection of stories from his own experience that will deeply move and inspire Christians burdened over the state of our nation. He shares detailed descriptions of movements of faith reaching countless numbers of people for Christ—movements of deeply grounded faith in America led by the next generation. This is a book that at every turn awakens believers to God's amazing work, and how they can be inspired to see the touch of God in their own community and church.
Matt Brown is an evangelist, author of Awakening, and founder of Think Eternity. He and his wife Michelle are impacting thousands of people with the gospel each year through live events and online. They also minister to more than a half million followers on social media daily.
In this book , the author says (and correctly) that the first thing Christianity needs to do is to stop picking at each other's differences and to Advertise and employ what we all share...a faith in a loving God who has saved us through his son Jesus Christ. Then he goes on to say how he has met lots of Catholics who are Christians. Here's a news flash for you: We Catholics are the original Christian church.
It's even more ironic that he goes on to talk about how the media misrepresents or ignored positive stories about the Christian faith. Not too sure he believes his own preaching.
He goes on and on about these mega churches and how tens of thousands attend this church or that church every week. I think he misses the point, here. Church attendance is great, but serving God the rest of the week is the mission.
While Awakening encourages evangelism and unity the author's bigotry and pridefulness are a big turn off and completely deleted this book's stated intention for me.
Super encouraging book! So often we hear about what's wrong with the world but in his book Awakening, Matt Brown shares story after story about the amazing things God is doing all over the world today. I recommend it for anyone interested in learning about how God's hand is moving on planet earth.
With all the negativity and discouragement in the world and in the church particularly, the author reminds us that God is at work even when we cannot see Him many times. Share what He has done and ask God for eyes to see and ears to hear, and above all, the grace and love to proclaim Him until He comes!
