I got a few useful tips from this book. I found it on the New shelf at the library and tried it. Blowouts are what women get done at a salon. A blowdry and style that is supposed to last for up to a week. And only $45! Mostly it promoted all her products ($200 blow dryer is essential) and each hairstyle took the same route. Or seemed to...

I liked all the helpful pictures. The author and owner seems nice. She gave us all the secrets so we can do our own blowouts, so that was generous.

OK. I'm attempting to learn how to girl. I have naturally curly hair. I want to let it do it's thing, it's happiest when I don't interfere too much. In fact, it would prefer I don't even comb it.... it eats brushes, spits out combs, and snarls at hairdressers.

This book is all about interfering with your hair. Your hair will be unhappy with you. Mine would strangle me in my sleep. If you are willing to risk death by angry straightened hairs... hear ya go. A complete guide to enraged hair.

In my never-ending quest to learn how to style my hair like an adult (I've only just mastered the at-home manicure at 35), I picked up this book while wandering the library. It has lots of good easy to follow advice though you may feel compelled to try some of their products, especially if you've every had a DryBar blowout. One thing I noticed is that advice on what products to use for each particular hair type is distributed throughout the book at the beginning of each style description. So it helps to flip through each style presented in the book to find the hair model who's hair is similar to yours, then use those prep products with the style you're going for. It's no miracle book and I still need a lot of practice to perfect my technique, but at least I have a better idea of how to get that shiny, bouncy DryBar Blowout (without spending $45 a pop).

I've never had a good hair day in my life so I was one of those teenagers who wore a beanie every day. Now that I'm 30 the beanie look is no longer cute, so I thought this book might help me out. I'm too cheap to buy any of the expensive products listed and I'm too lazy to spend an hour on my hair. I don't use a blow dryer, and I don't even own a curling / flat iron. I will say that it inspired me to start caring more about my hair. I think I'll start with brushing it daily. Hell, I might even dye it 😂

Ah, good hair days. I struggled whether I should shelve this as mythology or science. Hahaha.

In the end, I'm going to lean toward science. The author's instructions are easy to follow and also include tips on how to not fry your hair.

My goal for 2018 is to finally figure out what the heck to do with my hair other than let it run wild or throw it in a ponytail. This book is fun and very helpful!

There’s some good tips in here but I am 100% unmotivated to actually try them. It clearly takes a lot of work to make your hair look that good. Maybe someday I’ll get on that! In the meantime I’m much more interested in a weekly Drybar appointment. ;)

I received several compliments on my hair after I started blowdrying my hair with the tips found in this book. The book has lots of pictures and directions for many different hair styles. I also found the author's story of starting Drybar very inspiring. Alli Webb's voice through out the book is very warm and friendly.

Cheesy puns and written as if speaking to 16 year olds. Which is funny since their target demographic is professional women. At least where I live that’s who is in there getting weekly to bi-weekly blowouts. I’ve been a long term client and it’s a real treat not to have to deal with my natural hair myself. However, with a toddler and a newborn, I found it difficult to fit a salon visit into my hectic schedule. Unfortunately, this gave me no real usable tips for achieving a smooth and flawless blowout at home. It did however, reinforce the stereotypical notion of curly hair being the “other “ and unkempt. With those cheesy drinking jokes? No thanks.

The branding in the book is amazing. I love the Drybar'sTexas Tea shampoo and liked how simple this book was to follow. With thick, wavy, frizz prone hair I stay away from the blow dry completely. After reading this, I regained my courage to tackle a blow out. Part determination and part double espresso- I ended up with a beautiful, straight, bouncy blowout! ( I used products I already had) also note worthy, it looked great all week.

Easy read. I enjoyed reading through the different hairstyle techniques but I felt like she was promoting too many tools/products.

not that good or groundbreaking, but informative enough if you want to learn more about how to style your own hair.

It’s cringe-y and problematic, but still a pretty good guide to giving yourself a blowout. I learned a few new tips, and I consider myself an expert in blowing out my own hair, as I’ve been doing it for nearly 25 years.
