It is kind of funny to me how a book with a BDSMish theme can also be so damn sweet, but somehow author Mari Carr managed to do that in Off Limits. Lacy Sparks has been in love with her brother's best friend all of her life; she's watched him date other women and even live with one for a long time but now that relationship ended and she's tired of waiting for Logan Grady to see her as a woman. She knows way more about Logan's sexual needs than she should and she knows that what he wants, needs and demands is something that makes her ache with a need she's never felt before.
As much as I am not a fan of flashbacks I really enjoyed seeing the interactions of Lacy and Logan over the last twenty years as innocent as most of them were, it really gave a lot of insight into their characters and provided the reader with the knowledge that this relationship has been in the making for years. I loved that Lacy refused to let Logan hide and that she was bound and determined to make him understand that not only was she a woman, but she was a woman who knew what she wanted from him and what he needed from her. I pitied Logan; I did because he was between a rock and a hard place. On one hand he'd held back from Lacey because of the pact he made with her brother years ago about sisters being off limits and on the other hand he had Lacey the woman who'd been taunting him for years ready, willing and more than able to give him what he needed. It was easy to see the affection and trust these two had with each other from the start and while Logan put up a good fight, Lacey was determined. That's not to say they didn't have some moments of doubt, of second guessing and of a bit of pig-headedness, but they both realized soon enough that despite her big brother's objections they were good together.
Sweet but every bit as wickedly sexy as I've come to expect from this author I loved Off Limits and each book in this series just gets better and better.

I'm not sure how I've never read anything in the Sparks in Texas series, but that will be remedied soon!
Lacy Sparks has been in lust with Logan Grady since she was a kid, but there's nothing juvenile about her feelings for the sexy and dominant woodworker anymore. Lacy and Logan have excellent chemistry that jumps off the page immediately, and his dominant streak was hawt. He came off as such a sweet, quiet man, so the fact that he liked to give his women a nice hard spanking and wields some mean sex toys was a yummy contrast. I loved that Lacy made no apologies for who she was and what she wanted. She didn't shy away from admitting her feelings to Logan and asking for what she wanted. The sex was super erotic, full of butt plugs and nipple clamps and light bondage. And the other couples and singles that Ms. Carr mentioned in OFF LIMITS made me want to check out more offerings by her.

Lacy and Logan were enjoyable characters with a magnetic attraction that dated back many years.
Logan has immersed himself in his work for the year since his long term relationship fell apart, but not for the reason most people think. As a self confessed Dom, Logan suppressed his baser urges during his three years with Jane and has vowed to never deny his true self again.
Lacy is Logan's best friend Evan's sister and totally off limits, so her constant presence and come hither looks are disconcerting. Especially when his man parts are screaming "Hallelujah. let me at her".
But human nature cannot be denied and what starts as some "cough" innocent tutelage in BDSM, soon becomes hot and sweaty between the sheets.
While I really enjoyed this story, I do feel that the "Bro Code" thing is a little over done lately. Grown men afraid to pursue a friend's sister when both parties are nearing or over thirty is a bit lame. That aside, the story was good.

Once again Mari Carr rocks my world with her latest Sparks in Texas story, Off Limits. I may have a crush on Logan myself just like Lacy. I loved that Logan and Lacy have been in each other's lives for so long and that they finally get to act on the simmering heat between them. I enjoy when the hero tries to keep his end of the bro code albeit unsuccessfully; it makes for some great sexual tension. I loved the sexy, kinky sex scenes that were well written. Love this series and I cannot wait to read more.

Logan and Lacy are a great young girls crush on older brothers best friend to adult lovers story. Most sisters know about the "bro code" most brothers make with their friends that makes said sisters off limits. It is, as this story actually was, often predictable when the friend and sister get together. I enjoyed reading this story, and really enjoy this series, but this one was very predictable.

Waiting for Him is the Fourth book in the Sparks in Texas series, if you count the novella about a married couple. It can be read as a standalone book.

Well that was a steamy read! Lacy and Logan most definitely had chemistry, white hot and burning, but dealing with their emotions is what tripped them up. Loved that we got little flashbacks of them when they were younger, knowing their past certainly set-up the present. Unable to stay away or deny each other, these two finally realized they were all they had ever needed or wanted <3

Off Limits by Mari Carr oozes of humor and love of all kinds. Mari beautifully and creatively incorporates flashbacks in such a way that the flashbacks do not take away or break the flow of Logan and Lacy’s story. The flashbacks further enrich Logan and Lacy’s relationship from childhood crush to adult love. Each word, sentence, paragraph and chapter pulls you in and never lets you go. Guess who added the three previous books of the series on their TBR list! Yeah, it was me. I have been a fan of Mari Carr since the first book I read by her. I like how she manages to give me my fill of romance in such a tiny packet every single time. The only way this one could have been better is if Lacy had found some way to make Logan insanely jealous. The BDSM stuff is light but very hot and enjoyable. I might not understand completely why Logan had a change of heart, but it worked for me and I won't question it further. What I loved the most though were the flashbacks. I couldn't understand why their order was from the most recent to the oldest, but everything made sense when I read the last one. That last one flashback was enough to make me say that this is my favorite story in the bundle.

Evan Sparks and Logan Grady have been best friends for forever. They enacted the bro code years ago when Logan wanted Evan nowhere near his sister. Lacey Sparks was always the annoying little sister so Logan was never worried about the bro code coming back to bite him years later. At least not until he realizes Lacey is all grown up and wants nothing more than a relationship with Lacey. Logan thinks showing the real him to Lacey will send her running in the other direction, at least until he actually asks her. This was another great story about the Sparks family.

Another winner
I read a couple of books/stories in this series quite some time ago, but I only recently went back to fill in the blanks and read the rest of the series. I really enjoyed this one. Mari Carr manages, once again, to not only write hot sex but include realistic emotions and character interactions that feel true-to-life.

Another enjoyable Mari Carr book! I am liking this series, but I don't think I have ever been in a small town like this were all the men at alpha Doms. Might be a fun place to visit... =P
