Cindy Blythe is tired of running from her dangerous past. She longs for a safe haven, but if she gets too comfortable, she might lose everything. When she finds the perfect man on an online dating website, she packs up what’s left of her life and drives out to the Curvy Bear Ranch. No one will ever find her in the remote Montana wilderness. She won’t have to divulge anything about her awful past. But when she meets panty-melting Drew Grant, her guilty heart wants to reveal everything. How can she tell him the truth when he doesn’t even know her real name?
When Drew finds out that a "helpful" relative has been posing as him on a dating website, he’s furious. He doesn’t need help finding a mate, especially since he doesn’t want one. He’s perfectly happy alone. But when Cindy arrives, his bear gets one look at her sexy, curvy figure and Drew knows he’s in trouble. She’s awakened the beast inside him and there’s only one way to calm him down. Unfortunately, he has no idea that the woman he secretly craves is hiding a terrible secret.
just so we're clear, the one star is for the cover 1) absolutely NOT an alpha, a pathetic whinging manchild 2) the morning after scene was ick to the power infinity 3) the heroine was almost desperate, a woman who had just gotten out of a 6 year old abusive relationship decided to wait on hands and knees for any kind word this immature jerk may throw at her all over again? And to want to introduce her kid to him? Are you kidding me? 4) I have no problem with not forgiving lying, but he had ZERO compassion! Even after his cold blooded crosschecking of every details with the sheriff and getting the proofs that she has in fact revealed the truth he had neither sympathy nor empathy. His bear didn't even feel the urge to violently attack the ex. What kind of useless passive bear is that? 5) I don't think I'm going to continue with this author anymore, 3 books later it's disappointment after disappointment, even her bears are either passive or personality less! This one was useless! This guy had taken lessons of using heroines from some of the best HP heroes, and all the bear did was pout! This one basically just used heroine for sex whenever HIS needs were overwhelming, yet he NEVER gave ANYTHING in return. First time, he took her to bed, without any promises, when he knew she came there to marry him and now has nowhere to turn, at least that bit WAS true. Then heroine delivers HIS nephew at the house and is a mess and he seduces her yet gives her NOTHING! He neither accepts nor rejects her. It's like if I accept you I'll have to forgive you, and if I reject you I can't have sex with you so I'm going to keep telling you this two lines on repeat "I don't know cindy, I need more time"! Seriously, I think some of the HP heroes can take some lessons from this guy. 6) the mega drama queen hero whinges and whines through the whole book and his brother's were pretty sick of him to be honest by the end of it! He kept on throwing the lying to her face, but hey "honey by the way I turn into bear for hobbies" is just oh so normal, and hiding this is SO not lying by omission! Heroine does point it out when he says "It doesn’t change who I am. I’m still the same man you got to know,” by telling him “I’m pretty sure I told you the same thing when I told you the truth about my past.” He responds "you did" and that's about all the grovelling she gets and since her parents failed to provide her with a calcium rich diet before her first marriage she falls at his feet by the next line or so. As Chantal has pointed out in one of her reviews, we read our shifter stories for strong bonding. Not for this. This is not what I read shifter romance for. The Insta lust/love mate bond doesn't exist in this book, or any of her 3 books I have read, this author is going to be a skip for me.

Nothing really memorable about this one. I didn't really like that theDrew fights his bear's instincts and refuses to accept Cindy as his mate. He wasn't very alpha, more wishy-washy and too judgemental of h. He did a lot of pushing away and Cindy was way, waaayyy too needy for my taste. It irked me that Drew would act so hot and cold towards Cindy, especially after their first night together, that morning after scene . . . Argh . . . (What a jerk!)
Would have liked better if Cindy had more of a backbone. For having gone through what she went through it felt wrong how fast and completely she a) let herself fall for a complete stranger, b) the same one who so easily rejects her (to her face) a bunch of times and c) is totally okay with surprising this stranger with not only her real identity but the existence of her six year old kid? The story line of a mail order bride plan was just goofy. It all just seemed too silly that a grown woman wouldn't have thought out her ridiculous plan all the way through, seeing as how this "grand" plan would effect so many people.
This was a very delightful book, that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It kept me interested, throughout. It had a great story line that was not completely predictable, with multi faceted characters. This is a good read, and I would recommend it.
It wasn't terrible but it really wasn't all that great either. Cliché, cliché and incredibly predictable. The dramatic climax at the end had me in laughing fits, which I'm sure was not the intention, and the remaining few pages were horrible romantic dribble.
I just can't get over how incredibly consistent the characters were. Not at all changing their minds from one page to the next. Nope. Would never happen here.
I really liked this series but this last book seemed a little rushed, as if a kid was waiting out the last days of school before summer. I liked the characters mostly. I did think Cindy was a little needy at the end, but generally liked her. I liked Drew, but he was a little slow to forgive deceit considering he was hiding his own secret. But all in all it was a nice read.
Cindy was running for her life not knowing where it may lead carrying a lot of baggage with her. Drew was happy with his life the way it was..... Single. One thing Drew could not tolerate is a liar and unfortunately Cindy was not truthful in telling Drew the truth about her past. Needless to say he was not happy and ordered her to leave the ranch. Mack was finally able to talk some sense into him and obviously they worked through everything. The best thing that happened to solidify their relationship was when Cindy's ex husband came to the ranch to kill her and unfortunately he died by is own knife with on hand. LOVED this series and plan on reading the rest of her books.
The Cowbear's Mail Order Bride: A Werebear Paranormal Romance (Curvy Bear Ranch Book 6)
The love story of Cindy and Drew. Dr. Cindy Blythe has been run for a year from her ex-husband, now she has a chance to stop running. She will become a Mail Order Bride. Her groom will be Drew Grant. Drew dose not know he was looking for a bride because his sister-in-law, Madison, put in him on the date site until Cindy show up. It's love a first scene but Drew does not want it. Can she won his heart? Great story.
Cindy has the wherewithal to Have multiple passports and licenses when she ran from her nightmare ex. Trying to be a mail order bride was the solution to getting safe from his harassment and Maddie is quickly forgiven for meddling in Drew’s life. While her parents watch the daughter Brooke she quickly finds that she doesn’t like lying to Drew. He also has a big secret but love does find a way!
Cindy is on the run from her past when she goes online and meets a cowboy named Drew. Cindy feels he's the one to make everything better. Except when she gets there Drew explains that it was all a lie from his pregnant sister in law. Could these two single people work out? Or will Cindy's past catch up to her? Great read
Awesome story, a fun read. Full of secrets, lies, drama, danger, and twists and turns. Will the lies continue to keep them apart? Can he forgive her and trust again? Love how the characters are so real, the five brothers and their mates are wonderful, feels like you know them. A great series! In the end will true love win, can he accept her and find happiness or will the evil ex win?
Well written story of a cow bear and a woman that meet through an online website. Drew does not know anything of the online site. He learns of it just a few minutes before she shows up. She does not trust easily as she is the victim of domestic & verbal abuse. He has a wee beard problem he must share with her.
Two women who lied but still the cowboy gets his happily after. Madison makes a fake online dating profile for Drew and Cindy makes her own fake online dating profile. Madison was trying to help Drew find his mate and Cindy was running from an abusive ex-husband. Drew and Cindy find themselves falling for each other. Drew saves her life when the ex tracks her down. Love prevails.
Sadly this one wasn’t as good as the others. The vacillating that Drew does is annoying. Also the fact that they constantly refer to Madison’s baby being a shifter when she was pregnant to her ex-finance before Meeting Mack is annoying. How can authors not keep track of there own storyline’s. Some name typos interchanged too. Series okay but this one a bit disappointing.
Enjoyed this paranormal book. Not an earth shattering example but a sweet typical example of bear shifters. A little drama, a little suspense, a little of love rejected and more of love and devotion by a mate. Enjoyable.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I have loved every book in this series. Each book is its own story, but they fit together so nicely. Well written with a lot of drama, but a lot of heart too. Loved the ending!!
I was looking forward to read this story of Cindy and Drew. You can't go wrong with shifters and mail order brides. I just wished there was more around the shifting. It was quite steamy and I appreciated that part.
One more enjoyable addition to the Curvy Bear Ranch series of stories. The final single brother is feeling just a bit lonely and jealous, but marriage is not in his plans...
A delightful story of an abused mother on the run from her controlling exhusband. She found peace and love at a Montana each along with some surprises.
A woman on the run and a loner cowboy. An ad for a mail order bride. Secrets on both sides. The dance begins, with the cowboy's inner bear all knowing.
Love storyline the character are believable and realize well balanced story, detail of character well arounded just not sex , looking forward to other story.
