I got this book because I have a lot if scraps in these sizes. I thought this might have ideas I can use for those. The charts that tell how many pieces of different sizes you need to make various sized quilts is quite helpful. There are great instructions making various blocks from precuts. I'm especially intrigued by Missouri Stat Quilt Company's Jelly Roll Race method. What a fast and easy way to make a quilt from strips!
Very similar to the information that is available on videos and magazines. I had hoped that it would offer more than an issue of any basic quilting magazine.
This book is perfect for new quilters. All the basics are here and you really don't need more information. I buy many quilt books because they are eye candy. They give me ideas for combining fabrics and colors, and they are restful to read at bedtime, but this basic book with many charts and detailed instructions is all one needs.
Jenny Doan is a genius, pure and simple! I will be buying this book in the very near future. I have always shied away from products, because I really didn't know what to do with them, but now I have infinite ideas for how to work with them. The tables and charts are an invaluable tool, a great book to have on hand and refer to often .
This is a very good reference book. The charts will be very helpful for different aspects of quilting. I especially liked the chart which showed how to make pre cuts from fat quarters and the chart showing how many blocks of a specific size are needed to make a desired quilt size. There were also good basic block patterns.
Basic Quilt Size info, Assorted block diagrams, how to make multiple HST
Good basic information on quilt sizes, number of blocks needed per quilt based on size of blocks, basic instructions for different ways to make HST half square triangles, and an assortment of block patterns using HST and jelly roll strips.
It is a brief introduction into the various precuts. Not a lot of quilt patterns offered. Maybe give to someone wanting to know about starting out with precuts. Would have liked a bit more design ideas.
This book is easy to follow. Great reference for amounts needed for precuts. Also liked the instruction for different types of blocks. I'll be using this in the future.
This reference book has practical information/charts for designing quilts. A go-to book that I keep close by. Beginners to experienced quilters can use this book
I’m glad this was no charge because it was on kindle unlimited. Had I paid for it I would have been very disappointed. Has the same information as many of my books ib[ve had for 20 years. Mostly a reference book.
So glad this one was free. It didn’t provide anything you can’t already get free online just about anywhere. For someone with so many new and fresh ideas this book is a disappointment.
This short book has all the measurements for different size quilts. How many blocks, how much binding, how much backing etc.. iIt also has some sample blocks and tips and tricks for precut fabric.
The directions were simple but complex for new quilters. A lot of information related to the style of quilting. You will learn something. There is a companion book that will have more insight and suggestions . Might just skip and buy that book.
This book is a wonderful reference for planning all size quilts from precuts. There are no quilt patterns per day but many different blocks you can make from them and how many you’ll need to make the different size quilts.
Like anything Missouri Star releases, this book is well thought out and easy to understand. It's an excellent source for how much yardage to buy for different sizes of quilts and it illustrates some basic blocks very well.
This has so many handy charts and basic block building. This would be the perfect reference tool for any quilter, but would make an especially nice gift for someone just getting started!
This was the best book for beginners and experienced sewers. I think you should be to make a quilt by using e-book as a reference point. It's a keeper for sure!
