Hunter Ryan is a monumental d*ck.
Bad boy, womanizer, soldier, pr*ck. Oh, and he thinks he’s God’s gift to women - mostly because of his… endowments.

What an ass.

I’d normally have nothing to do with Washington D.C.’s biggest playboy Secret Service agent, except things just got slightly complicated.

You see, my mother just became the first female President of the United States, and now she’s about to marry her Secretary of State - Hunter’s father.

Which means besides being my new security detail, that arrogant, insufferable man is my new stepbrother

Oh, right, and it’s worth mentioning that I already slept with him - once, before I knew who he was.

Forget John and Marilyn. Forget Watergate. Forget Monica.

I’ve got a scandal that could rock the entire world; a dirty, illicit, forbidden secret that could bring the most powerful country in the world to its knees.

My protector, my secret, my stepbrother.

This is about to be a true state of emergency; a national catastrophe.

As i read more books by Aubrey irons I find that she is very well expressed in her books. I definitely will continue to follow her work. She brought so much feeling to her characters. I also loved her take on the first woman President and the first family. Also the scandals that can happen within the White House. I really got absorbed in this book. I tip my hat to Aubrey for new take on this bad boy book. I highly recommend this book to anybody over the age of 18 who love the bad boy that can make you want him.

Maddison Adams is the daughter of the first woman President of the United States. Not to mention the fact that Maddison had flunked out of law school and is trying to get over a bad relationship with her ex boyfriend. So her best friend talks her into going to a sex party where she this guy in a mask with icy blue eyes. Maddison is pulled into reality when her mother announces she is marrying Alex Ryan her Secretary of State who has two sons, and one has icy blue eyes that she will never forget, and to make things worse he has a smirk on his face that she wants to slap off. This was the last thing she was expecting. Matters got worse when her mother told her that he was to be security detail until she and his father announced their engagement to the public. Knowing that she and Hunter had already slept together could bring down her mother if it ever got out.

Hunter Ryan is the oldest son of Secretary of State Alec Ryan who happens to be engaged to the President of the United States therefore making the green eyed beauty he had slept with already, his stepsister! Hunter is also a ex Marine and to make things more interesting he is the Secret Service Agent in charge of protecting Maddison Adams the First Daughter of the United States. He lives to push her buttons and to get her to melt under his touch. What makes things worse for him, is that he can't be around Maddison and not want her.

I can't forget Hunter's brother Dexter. He brings his own touch to the story. He tries to protect Hunter while making his own way in the White House. He does however, decide that his new step sister isn't as bad as he thought she could be.

No spoilers given. You will have to read the book to get the whole story. Happy Reading. ARC free book given for honest review.

It wasn't too bad. Exactly what I was expecting. 90% sex, 5% angst, 3% backstory, 2% legitimate plot. But let's be realistic, people don't read these for the Pulitzer prize winning story..... They read them to get hot under the collar and it achieved that mission. Basic synopsis: Chick meets hot guy at Sex Party; Has incredible sex; Learns later that he's going to be her new stepbrother; Both are still insanely attracted to each other so they throw all rules out the window and continue having sex (sneaking around to make it more exciting); Author alludes to lust becoming love; Life-threatening situation ensues; Resolution; Roll Credits.

My biggest complaint, and it's common for all these super cheap sex books, is the horrid editing! If I'd submitted something like this in school, it would be a "D" grade at best. Missing words, wrong words, grammatical errors. It would've been a solid 4 if not for that. There were so many at times that it pulled me from the non-existent plot because I was too busy trying to figure out what they were trying to say.

Okay, I loved this book at the beginning. It's very similar to Bedmates, which I just finished before this, but I was much more excited by Secret. The President's daughter thing seemed to be a big part of the story, it was written well enough, there was great chemistry between the protagonists, the story was interesting and it all just seemed fun. Unfortunately it went downhill from there, depending on what you are looking for in this book. If you want a book full of sex that just happens to be in the White House, then this book is for you. If you want more story than sex, then I'm afraid you might not love this one. I mean, it seemed like it was the same scene over and over. Hunter would molest Maddie in a public place despite her protests, he'd either growl or whisper in her ear and then he would grin. Oh the grinning. He was the wort type of cocky controlling character. I found him terribly unlikeable. There is a sex act in every single chapter, and for me it just got boring.

I had to laugh at the laziness of the plot. At the beginning Maddie mentioned that a few weeks or months previous her ex-boyfriend hit her, so she drove drunk to get away from him. Her mother seemed more upset about the driving drunk than the abusive boyfriend. I thought this is a juicy plot point to get into. Well, it's barely mentioned again until the end when this Ex suddenly turns up for 5 seconds to add some drama. The bodyguards is this book are so bad. They never explain how this drunk Ex managed to get past the whole Secret Service in a public place. When Hunter is part of the Secret Service he apparently has to follow Maddie everywhere and even stand guard outside her bedroom. But when he is off-duty no other bodyguards are ever around. Maddie and particularly Hunter manage to sneak all over the White House nobody the wiser.

Anyway, a good promising start that turns into the type of book I wasn't really looking for. I should have known from a book title that contains the premise.

I just really couldn't do anything but laugh at what was happening on the page. Repetitive word usage, and poorly thought out logistics just took me out of the story almost right off the bat. Worst secret service agent awards go to the ones supposed to be protecting the first family and future first family members.
Also if their relationship needed to be such a secret you'd think that, I don't know, they'd stop going at each other in public places. From what I understand there are cameras in a lot of places that they ended up fooling around. Not to mention that agents and staff would have known and or walked in on them in more than one location. The public might not have found out, but you can be damn sure that the household staff would know.
He's kicked out of the secret service once it's announced that his father is engaged to the President. Then all of a sudden her protection detail is not talked about again. Hell HE should have a protection detail now that he is going to be the first son.
Also what the hell is up with the President inviting a person she doesn't know, but says that she's engaged to her future step-son to the White House without talking to him about it first? Hello security risk much? And the ex is never mentioned after that day. Magically dick to the rescue. It's like Madison, the FMC, doesn't even remember thinking that she was the other woman. There's no real discussion just sexual manipulation on the part of the MMC.
I was expecting a little bit more than just sex scenes in rooms with historical meaning.

Title: Secrets (Military Stepbrother Romance)
Author: Aubrey Irons

Authors writing style: I have read a few of Aubrey’s other books and loved them. This was another good read by Aubrey. The writing style is very detailed with little repeating of lines or mistakes. The characters are easy to connect too. I couldn’t connect to the environment in which this story takes place (Whitehouse), but the characters had a good bond and allowed you to see past the environment. This was a standalone story of a soon to be stepbrother from the military. Both characters are over 18 years old (college and 4 years of military service).
Overview: Madison, aka Maddy’s, life is about to change. She just dropped out of college do to a bad boyfriend experience and tabloid issues. Now she is forced to be home with her mom and try to find what to do with her life. But it’s hard to decide what to do with your life when you can’t go anywhere without the secret service. Oh did I forget to mention that Maddy’s mom is the new President and the first woman President. Maddy’s thinks this is the worst part, that is until her mom announces that she is getting married to her Secretary of State, Major Ryan. When Major Ryan shows up with his two sons, Hunter and Dexter, Madison’s life takes another turn. Her one nightstand at a Sex Club just happens to be her soon to be Stepbrother Hunter. Now Maddy and Hunter are having a hard time with the balance of life. Hunter is assigned to her secret service details until the wedding announcement goes public, then he becomes a member of the Presidents family just like Maddy. And all the two can think about is their one night together. Will the two finally be together again or will they find new paths in life.

I received this for a honest review. I love Aubrey Irons’ books. I have to say I found this on very entertaining. This books has a lot. One minute you have the hot steamy parts and the next you have the funny parts that would make you fall over laughing. I truly loved this story.

I found it funny that you had the future stepmother in as president. WOW, had badly can that end and then to top it off you put the future stepbrother in as security detail over the stepdaughter. LOL, yip very funny..

I can only imagine the thoughts that went through Maddie’s mind seeing the man she had sex with come into the room. He was not only being introduced as her future stepbrother but will be protecting her. He was suppose to be a one night thing and then to top that off he knows a dark secret. See the two had first met in a BDSM club.

Maddie was not the only one taken back. Hunter was totally shocked. The thing about Hunter is he could hid his emotions very well. He saw this as an opportunity to get with her again. Yeah he still wanted her.

I found all the times that they snuck around very interesting but things can not go smoothly. Not only did they come close getting caught a few times but there was the crazy exs. Yeah both had a crazy ex.

Hunter finds himself having to jump in a save Maddie. She is in some serious danger and Hunter has to risk his life to save her. That is when all hell breaks lose. How is the public and news crew going to take it if Maddie and Hunters relationship comes out? How will their parents take the news? Will this destroy the stepmother’s career as president?

A scandalous liaison in the middle of the White House warrants a night of non-sleep, non-stop reading. Stepbrother romances can only get hotter if they're between a Marine bodyguard and the Madame President's daughter. Just thinking about it has me grinning with naughty excitement!

Lots of taunting dialogues, sneaking around in darkened corners, breaking all kids of rules and codes of conduct, and above all, plenty of dirty, forbidden passion that goes from a masked encounter to a buffet of juicy escapades into cloak-and-dagger, illicit behaviour.

Hunter, as a Secret Service agent, was too eager to push Madison's buttons. He relentlessly teaser her with his dirty talk. It was maddening but also so much fun. The author's prose reflects the wild abandon of their desire. I couldn't and wouldn't put the book down. This crazy romance is written in a light tone, which makes so much fun when the provocative couple flaunts every rule of propriety.

I just devoured every scene because it was an unending string of lust-filled, scandalous teasing. After all, the allure of playing with power and politics inside the Oval Office, while doing all kinds of sinful things, cannot be matched.

This is one of the most entertaining, arousing stories I've read by Aubrey Irons. She surely delivers a wicked romance that's choked full of hot passion, provocation in public places, and politically incorrect behaviour all wrapped up with a cinematographic ending and a perfect epilogue. I'd never imagined she would use the White House for such a fun, exciting romance! Really loved it.

This review is from: Secret: A Military Stepbrother Romance (Kindle Edition)
So , this is the story. There are two people sneaking around the White House, trying to have a little kinky hot fun. But, there's a snag. Always is right? They have met before in a way.. And there is a really big reason why they should not be having fun, in some people's eyes.
Maddie, Is a regular young lady. Doing the things kids do. Her mother decides to become president... Wow, the first woman president!
Mom, also has a secret, she's getting married. To a career military man, who is now her Secretary of State. Consulted, maybe, I'm getting to the good parts..
He has 2 handsome sons. One Hunter Ryan, former vet, decorated, now in the secret service, and sexy as hell!
Dexter Ryan, the proverbial little brother. Not to bad either.
Back to the good parts. Hunter very much enjoys tormenting Maddie in every way, in the hall, at a conference, at breakfast with the family...
And he calls her princess. Now for me that brings back memories of Han Solo and Princess Leia. That frustrated chemistry we feel it here.
The Lincoln bedroom, the hidden tunnels to rooms, the Oval Office. Hunter knows the secrets of all these places. He's trained to. How would he use that knowledge? In very pulse, raising, turn the page , omg is it hot in here? Turn the fan on! Kind of ways! Pick this one up. Highly recommended!

I recieved this book for an honest review.

loved this bad boy romance.
madison wanted one night of forgetting everything, forgetting that soon her every move would be public because in a few days her mother would be sworn in is the first female president of the USA. another first is that her mother is divorced.
another first is madison having THE night of her life at an exclusive sex party.
another first also is finding out the mystery hunk she had the one night stand with turns out to be the son of the man her mother is now dating, her secretary of state.
another first is that the hunk of a man turns out to be a her new security detail, forcing them to be together more then she would like because deep down, if she's honest, she can't help but keep him in her mind and dreams.
how will these two figure things out. madison loved their night but knows with their parents being an item being together is a big no no. but hunter keeps teasing her at every chance he gets, no place is taboo, not even the Oval Office and the famous desk!
how will their secret relationship grow in this political climate?
if you like dangerous places, almost getting caught, you like him a bit cocky and arrogant then this is the book for you. these two just make your screen almost smelt as you read their encounters one by one.

that's another one on the "i loved this to bits" - pile!!

ARC received in exchange for honest review.

4.5* This story was a bit of a slow starter for me, (Which is why I didn't give it 5*) and even though Hunter Ryan is described as a monumental dick. I actually really liked him but it took me a while to warm up to Maddie.

What I did really like though was the idea behind the story being set in the White House, and based around the First daughter, which honestly made a refreshing change to a lot of the Step Brother stories currently available. Also I particularly liked how the family responded to the revelation that Maddie and Hunter had been sleeping together and that period between them being outed and Hunter and Maddie declaring there love for each other was written rather than just completely skipped over. Which has happened in the few other Step brother/sister romances I have read.

Overall what really hooked me was the sexcapades which kicked in around the half way mark, and along with the characters (especially Dexter) is what I loved most, especially the scenes in which the president announces to the world that she is to marry, and those in the Oval Office, (I can honestly say whenever I see that particular room on T.V I will be thinking of this book!! )and I would happily recommend it to others. :-)

This is the story about a marine turned secret service agent named Hunter who is assigned to watch over the first daughter, Madison. Madison also happens to be be his future stepsister. This isn't the first time these two have met. They had a tryst at a secret sex club before they were to become step siblings. Madison decides to try not give in to temptation again by refusing to hook up with Hunter. Obviously she fails miserably and these two get it on. And boy do they get it on. The bolder they got in their public sex, the more nervous I was. I kept wondering will they get caught? Hunter is pure sex on a stick, a total bad boy charmer and Madison comes across some what like a goody two shoes but channels her inner sex kitten around Hunter. Their intense passion was super sexy. I just couldn't get enough of these two. This was a super steamy fun read and I can't wait to read the next book from Aubrey Irons. If you enjoy a fantastic bad boy romance with lots of hot sex, then this is the book for you.

One night, the only night Madison decides to let her hair down has come back to bite her harder than she thought possible. One night of freedom before everything changed; one night of escape before there was no escape, but that night of freedom resulted in her sleeping with the guy that's about to become her stepbrother, not only that, he's the secret service agent in charge of protecting her until her Mum, the President of the USA, and his Dad, Secretary of State, Alec Ryan, admit they're getting married. But the more she sees him, and with the inappropriate, scandalous, and wicked thoughts of Hunter Ryan, and all the things he did to her that night, the more she needs to see him. But nothing can go hidden forever. The only question is when will it have to end.
Wow, talk about hot and steamy. I loved the characters, their ability and being awesome at being naughty. Both Hunter and Maddie were endearing, and you can't help but worry that this time might be the time they get caught. I love how the ending is done, beautifully written.

"I want to be his naughty girl; his dirty little secret."- Madison

This is a delightful "sexual romp" of a read; with so many rather well written hottttt, inventive "love" scenes. The story line is rather creative and makes for many clandestine encounters that range from sweet to passionate and some are downright funny. Hunter is dashingly described from his tattooed musculature and devastating...uhmm smile. Madison is trying with all her might to honor her mother, the POTUS. The relationship between Madison and Hunter would be considered a political liability since they are soon to be step siblings. This situation builds romantic angst and tension further complicated when Hunter is assigned to Madison as her Secret Service protector. Oh, did I mention their crazy first meeting took place in a sex club.
In the end this is one tasty satisfying read. One I am proud to own for the joy of it. If you like dirty naughty girls and guys and dirty secrets this is one for you. Oh...and love makes all things shiny and new in the light of day.

If you need a "kick to start"

This review may have spoilers or be vulgar to some:

Basically ever scene is sex, sure there is "some" scenarios in between. Whatever scene is set its blah blah blah, sex sex sex. First few chapters were the same almost exact thought, descriptions and setting. I had to double check my chapters. It got old. Don't get me wrong the sex scenes are great but that's all this book is. Now I like a good sex driven book but with nothing else really between the H& h, Gah! Well except that he's secret service, she's the presidents daughter and they are step siblings to be(which is mentioned A LOT) I stopped half way thru. I mean c'mon they were in a sauna screwing and then the thoughts go to where she's suddenly on all fours in her bed waiting? How did they get there? Did time pass? Nope. Absolutely no depth at all. I only recommend it if you need a kick start to your libedo.

3.75*s really. This is the 5th book I've read by this author and I have to say they are not bad ;0)! Loved the cocky character Hunter in this book and he was complemented well with Madison. Is the book going to set the word on fire, no! Is it going to challenge u to read, no! It will however give u a HEA which is a little sickly but quite right for this couple. Easy to read with a nice big chunk of 'housewives porn'. Scene all set around white house (loosely speaking!) - Not an action packed save the day kind of book by its fast paced enough. Worth a read, especially if u r feeling a bit fresh.......

I absolutely loved this book, and was pulled in from the very beginning, and couldn't put it down until I'd finished. The chemistry between Hunter and Madison was perfect, and they were a great couple. It was fun seeing their relationship develop, and how things worked out for them. No spoilers, so you'll have to read for yourself to see how everything turns out, but I will say that I was happy to see them get their HEA, which was PERFECT!

This whole book was almost all sex. While I liked the story I would have liked more of the story to be about what happened when they weren't having sex. Like you introduce Anya but then she just disappears like she wasn't even there and without even seeing Hunter, who she was supposedly "in love with". Or with Harry attacking Madison, being more then a couple of paragraphs. I just think this book could have been better with more then just sex. And if I hear SKIRT-SUIT one moe time I'm gonna go crazy!!!! Find something else to describe what your wearing.

Lots of secerts!

This was an ok read, lots of steamy sex scenes, and I mean a lot! They were well written and were fun to read. The reason for 3 stars is because the characters never talked about anything other than sex. You never read about how they make a connection other then intense sex.
I loved the authors quote in the beginning of the book and just want to add that Aubrey Irons YOU are very much an author and have great skill!

Madison meets Hunter at a sex party. Madison didn't know that he was going to be part of the security detail and that she would have to see him every day. Hunter is a bit too cocky. Hunter also has experienced Marine and trained Secret Service agent. Hunter and Madison are hot together. I loved the story it kept me reading until the end. I loved the story line and plot. Secret
Madison is the first daughter. She let her friend talk her into going to a sex party and she meets a mystery stranger that she just finds out will be her step-brother.
Hunter is now on Secret Sevice detail and Madison is his charge. The only problem is that they both want each other.
There is a lot of dirty talking, sex and of course some drama that makes them finally realize that they just can't live with out each other.

I found myself exhausted multiple times trying to finish this book. Gotta work too, Hehehehe. A great way to end with what society thinks is wrong. In my opinion if you're not blood related there's no harm loving your step sibling! Even those that grow up together. Those to me are the most romantic. In this case they never met until after the parents announced it to them, the family, & they're already grown adults.

Thank-You

I loved it! The timing was great as this book takes place in the home of the new female POTUS. As all news media has been filled with politics, what better book to be reading? The characters seem real to me and the story is HOTTT! Lots of steamy as I am finding this to be a trait is Ms Irons writing. I like the way it is written and I love the characters. Complicated life with humor...and a lot of sex. Yep!!

I'm in Aubrey Iron world and loving all the ups and downs and twists and turns! Secret is one of the better step sibling stories. Although for a majority of the book they weren't technically step siblings. This was a very hot and steamy read. I wish there was some 'closure' or 'action' when the ex shows up. It's like why bring her into the picture if you're. It going to take her out? Anyway, great story!

IS THERE A STORY HERE???

I just couldn't get past 25%. My gosh, every single minute is describing sexual "self gratification". Zzzzzzzz
Can the authors of today just use the " F" word WITHOUT Jesus Christ's name!!??? Thats just overboard as is the CONSTANT adolescent sex. Create a story at least.
