Nicely told stories from a variety of cultures. Pleasantly surprised to find that they were not over censored. Children should be exposed to tales about mooning goblins to make them laugh or eating oatmeal mixed with blood. Bang's black and white illustrations are charming.

What an odd book.
The inside flap used the word "scary" which I did not find these stories to be. It was a let down. Even the illustraions werent what I was expecting....I thought maybe 2 of the 17 were impressive and cool...the rest were just eh.

I liked this book and thought the illustrations were gothic or scary in nature. Reminds me of something you would see ages ago. I really loved the illustrations.
