Only a moderately interesting book, even for those of us who love old board games.
The games which would be of most interest to play, are easily available in the local Target or Wal-Mart ... mancala, chutes and ladders, parchisi, othello ... though this book uses their historic names.
Only The Game of Goose seemed relatively interesting, but as it's purely a game of luck, no one in my family would be truly interested in giving it a whirl.
A nice book for some historic game facts, but only the most truly dedicated (or lonely?) person would likely go to the efforts to make these games
I LOVE this book! I have all of the old board games made and laminated. I use them with my family and with my students. These games are great. Once you play them, you see the NEW games in a different light - so many are based on these historic games. If you love playing games, I suggest you get this book, make the boards and get playing!
