Take one rising country star, one sexy bad boy, add a few secrets, some not so dark, some very painful, shake it up and garnish with a plan that promises to turn up the heat or backfire BIG time and you have To Win Her Heart by Mackenzie Crowne!
Jessi is a star, but to her family she feels like a puppet and she is being strangled by everyone pulling her strings. She’s an adult and she wants to take control of her own life, on and off the stage. Probably NOT going to happen anytime soon, now that a stalker has become a little too up close and personal. Desperate for some breathing space, (and just maybe a chance to spend with the man of her dreams), Jessi comes up with a plan to satisfy the need for a bodyguard and her own need to be up very close and personal with Max Grayson. How about let’s play boyfriend, girlfriend and everyone will be happy? Or will they?
Max has always been a fighter, both in the ring and out, but he is also a businessman and Jessi’s cousin’s best friend. Yep, off limits, totally and Max has stayed his distance from Jessi since forever. What better way to be close to the woman he has secretly wanted then to play her game, and keep her safe? Jessi is NOT that wide-eyed teen he once knew, she has blossomed like a prize rose, but revealing his feelings is not in the cards.
Of course everyone has secrets and Max is no different, but can he allow the taint of his past to touch his angel, Jessi? With danger coming at Jessi from every shadow, max will do whatever it takes, including losing her forever when she learns about his past. Maybe he can scare her off with his passion, or maybe eh will find the hunter has just become the prey. Never underestimate the power of love and a determined woman and this is what country songs are made of…
Hang on as Mackenzie Crowne rocks the romance world with a completely entertaining, often charming, sometimes humorous take on love as two people learn to forget what anyone else thinks, to trust their darkest secrets to another and to go above and beyond to make another’s dreams come true. Well written, sweet one minute and passionate the next, she proves that the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

This is the third instalment in the Players series. Although I had read the previous book, I had not read the first. This can be read as a stand alone however reading the others will give a little background on some of the secondary characters.
This story delivers exactly what you would expect from it based on the story synopsis. You have two people with an intense attraction to each other and a thousand (in their eyes) reasons why it could never work. As you are well aware, the harder they fight it the more they are fighting a losing battle.
Jessi is a spitfire who knows what she wants in love but not necessarily in life. Max is someone who feels he does not deserve any of the good things in life most importantly, love. As they are thrown together they realize that perhaps both of them were wrong about everything.
The mystery of the stalker was not really a mystery. I was able to figure it out from the very beginning although I felt Crowne may have been trying to throw the reader of off the scent. Regardless, you are really there to see what happens with Jessi and Max so it wasn't a big deal.
If you like your stories with a little bit of the steam factor, this book has that for you. If you like a little romance, it has that also. If you like broken characters who come together, again the story delivers.
Ultimately I had a good time with this story. I was able to fly through it and it kept me entertained.
This was definitely my favorite book of this series so far! I have really liked Max from the beginning and couldn't wait to read his story. And Jessi, oh what to say about her. She is probably one of the coolest heroines I have read in a while. She is so lovable, you just can't help but root for her the whole way through. Max, what to say about Max. He is a hard nut to crack and I couldn't wait until he finally gave into his feelings for Jessi. After running from her because he thinks he is not good enough for her you know when he finally stops running it is explosive. I want a Max for my very own please. Do yourself a favor and grab this book, you won't regret it. I can't wait to see who's story comes next. This was a 5 AMAZEBALLS stars for me.
Max is a tough cookie but that didn't mean he wasn't a big ole softie where his woman is concerned, "his heart contracted and he pulled the comforter over her shoulders, then sifted his fingers through the curls spread out on her pillow. “Sleep, baby. I’ll be right here when you wake up.” I enjoyed this book I loved Max.
Jessi and Max are fantastic. I loved the mystery in the story and the way you're kept guessing until the end. Sure, there were options, but I couldn't make up my mind who was the guilty party until it was revealed. Definitely a book I will be picking up and reading again.
In To Win Her Heart, country singer , Jessi Tucker has had it. She feels suffocated by all the restrictions her father has put in to place. Jessi decides that maybe if she had a boyfriend her father would back off so she asks Max Grayson, her cousin’s BFF to be her pretend boyfriend. Max turns her down immediately. Max grew up on the streets and the MMA fighter doesn’t believe he is good enough for Jessi. But when Max learns that Jessi is being stalked by a crazy fan, he quickly changes his mind. Can Max keep things professional or will his heart win out? This book was just as fantastic as the previous book in the series. Crowne has a knack for writing sexy book boyfriends and strong heroines. I can’t wait to read her next book. I really felt Jessi’s frustration throughout the book. First she was suffocating because of her well meaning family and then her career was making her physically ill. I was so happy when towards the end of the book she finally stood up for herself when it came to her career and with Max. Poor Max. I really wanted to thump him upside the head a few times for not believing that he was good enough for Jessi. His background story of being abandoned as a child was just heartbreaking but I love how he rose above it to become a successful business man. Eventually he got over his past and realized that he was on the verge of loosing Jessi forever. The added suspense factor in this book was a nice bonus to the storyline. I thought I had it figured out about who was Jessi’s stalker. Then I changed my mind and I still ended up getting it wrong and being surprised by who it was. To Win Her Heart is an excellent addition to The Players series (this can be read as a stand alone). This well written contemporary romance features well developed characters and a storyline that will have you telling your self just one more chapter.

Girls, the long hot days of summer are fast approaching, and this is one sweltering story you are not going to want to miss. Jessi is desperate for a life of her own. She wants away from her overbearing and controlling father. Now, If she's ever going to have that life, she's going to have to prove to her father she'll be looked after - and protected. The only way she can do that is to find herself a man. Now finding a man isn't hard; in fact she's already found one, and his name is Matt. She's been in love with Matt for years. Matt is perfect! He's sexy as hell, strong willed, a bad boy and, and he's certainly not the type to be controlled by anyone - not even her father. The first thing she has to do though is convince Matt to help her by being her boyfriend. Can Jessie do it? Well she wants Matt, she's used to getting what she wants, and no man has ever been able to say no to her in the past. Oh right, and the protect part of our story, he has to be able to protect her. Protected Jessie from what, you ask, well....there is the problem with the stalker.
This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.
Aaahhh We have reached the story I have been waiting for in this series ~ Max and Jessie. With Jessie wanting to be on her own, she devises a plan to have Max pretend to be her boyrfriend, which would allow her to get out from her fathers strict security. Poor Jess gets turned down flat. I kinda snickered at this, as Max has wanted her for so long and just thank you but no. As it turns out Jessie is in trouble and she really doesn't know the severity of it. After being asked by her father to go along with her crazy plan, he finds himself unable to deny the fact he will be the boyrfriend after all. We see all of the characters that we have meet in past books, and that just solidifies the story that is being told. Ms. Crowne has such a way of writing H/h that are strong alphas ( who do have that soft side) and females, who aren't dependent on them. I am wondering if V will get her story as well. 5/5 cross posting to My Reading Reality. This book was graciously provided from NetGalley in exchange only for a honest review.
Jessi is used to being in thEvansville spotlight but now with a stalker, migraines, and overbearing family...she needs to be able to make decisions on her own. Max is her opportunity for just that.
He wants no part of her plan but when her dad comes to him with hopes of his help, max will do anything to keep her safe.
Past messes, secret crushes, and secrets are gonna come to light and when it all explodes it will be a fight to stay together.
Jessi is a rising country singer with an over bearing family that fears for her safety. However, she has a stalker, so they have every right to be concerned! She's had a crush on her cousin, Tuck's best friend for a while. She comes up with a game plan to get Max (MMA fighter) to be her pretend boyfriend! Brilliant girl!! She'll not only have protection but she'll be around Max!
Max has been crushing on Jessi for years! He's a cage fighter and has skeletons in his closet that he thinks makes him not good enough for Jessi. Playing Jessi's boyfriend will get him close to her, but at what cost? Can he protect her from himself? On the surface, he's tough. But, underneath that tough man is a teddy bear! Especially when it comes to Jessi.
I enjoyed this book. The flow was great and the characters were good. I guess this could be read as a stand alone. You may get a little confused at who a couple of the secondary characters are, but they are easily figured out. This is my first Mackenzie Crowne book and I like her writing style/story.
Jessi is tired of her family running her life. She know that her famous life can bring out some cookoos . She thinks everyone is overreacting so she decides to come up with her own plan. This is classic bring in Max her cousins best friend thinking they play a couple and her family will just be okay with that plus he's a fighter so it's a win win. Except she's been in love with hi for years and he's been fight his attraction for her because she was to young and he knows he could never be good enough for her.
It was a great book that had a mystery to solve. I loved the characters and thought the couple were good together. Max had a tough life and he achieve so much despite it all. Jessi is perfect for him and shows the world how she's willing to stand by her man no matter what. Just a fantastic book.

Jessi Tucker is a Country Music Superstar, but there’s only one thing she’s ever wanted: Max Grayson’s heart. When threatening letters and a meltdown give her an opportunity to finally try to snag him, Jessi jumps at the chance. Little does she know that Max has been avoiding her because he feels the same way and is just too terrified of the little slip of a woman and what she represents. This was a really good book. I loved all the characters, especially getting to see the characters from previous books. I really felt for Max and everything he continued to struggle with that forced him to reject happiness. Jessi is just a ball of fire. I love books that give strong female leads that aren’t afraid to take what they want. I highly recommend. **I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review
Oh Max…I’ve been so excited to read his story since the very first book in the series. I adored him as Gracie’s over-protective best friend and I just knew he was going to be a great leading man to Jessi. Boy was I right. I loved Max with Jessi. He was so protective of her, even to the point that for years he fought his attraction to her. He thought she deserved better when it didn’t matter what he thought because she had been in love with him for years.
Jessi and Max were definitely perfect for each other. They both encouraged each other to look at what they really wanted and take the chance. Max’s past is holding him back and I just wanted to hug him and tell him it was going to be okay. Jessi had her own set of issues that were heartbreaking as well. It was great to see them come together and find comfort in each other. Not to mention the hot as all get out sexy time.
We also got to see the couple from the previous books which I loved. Especially since this book takes place 5 years after the last one. Kris was also in this book and I loved what we saw of her even if it means we likely won’t be getting a Kris book now. We finally got to see Jake’s friend/publicist Viv again and I’m still holding out hope we’ll get a book for her…at the very least maybe a novella. Either way, I’m hoping this isn’t the end of this series. I’ve enjoyed all of the books so far and would love to read more. But if it is, I’ll definitely checkout whatever Mackenzie Crowne writes next.

I really enjoyed this book. Jessi Tucker is a country music sensation. She is part of a duo. She is tired of having her family control everything, including her safty via bodyguards, a security team. So she decides to take matters into her own hands. She is going to ask the man she has been in love with to help her.
Max Grayson is rough around the edges. He is a Cage Fighting Champion, Owns his own Gym. He has kept his past hidden from everyone he is friends with. He feels he is unlovable. He believes he is no good for anyone, He is also in love with Jessi Tucker
This story is well written, the story flows! The characters are loveable.. They make you cheer for a happy ending.
This book has a bit of everything in it.. Drama, Suspense, Dark Hidden Secrets, Lies and yes some hot steaminess.
Will Jessi be able to convince Max to help her? If he agrees will her plan to seduce and make him fall in love with her work or will it backfire and leave her heartbroken? Will his past make Jessi run the other way? Lots of things could happen. Read this book to find out if there is a happy ending for Jessie or Max.
I have loved all the books in this set.. A series of stand-alones but you will want to learn about the others when you read any of them. Mac Crowne has a talent for writing sport romances. I get sucked into the story every time.
So good! If you haven't started reading the Players Series yet, you need to! This is Book Three, and they just keep getting better! Max and Jessi are so sweet together ... not to mention HOT! :)
Jessi Tucker is Country's music's "It Girl" and is getting really tired of being smothered by her family and friends with constant security following her every move. She isn't concerned in the least with the most recent stalker she has attracted and thinks it's all just par for the course. She decides to reach out to her cousin Tuck's friend Max to get him to pretend to date her so she can get some freedom from the smothering.
Jessi and Max have each been pining after the other for years but he doesn't think a dangerous man with a history and past like his could ever be good enough for her, so he refuses to give her the time of day. Will he be able to resist her when they are in close quarters and putting on a fake relationship show?
I was rather surprised that this book took the series into a 5 year jump forward, and I didn't really care for the abrupt nature of it!
Jessi and Max were a good couple overall, but the constant age difference comparisons got a bit old at times. The schemes that were cooked up to bring the two of them together were pretty flimsy and unrealistic to me. I did like that this book added in a bit of a sinister suspense twist! However, that twist wasn't worked with much in the book and I felt it was added in just to make the book different from it's predecessors.
This was once again a short read, but an overall engaging and interesting one!
** Contains BIG spoilers but I have them hidden. Only click if you don't mind knowing what's going to happen. I included them because I felt I needed to explain what I didn't like about the book but couldn't without spoiling. **
Country music singer, Jessi Tucker, is getting really fed up with her family treating her like a child and having security around her at all times, so she come up with a plan to ask her brother's best friend, Max to be her pretend boyfriend and be her protection. Max is a professional cage fighter and teaches people self defense, so Jessi thinks he will be perfect for her plan. It also helps that she's had a crush on him since the first time that she met him and he won't give her the time of day. She thinks her plan will also be a way to get him to see her differently. At first Max turns down her plan because he has been fighting his attraction to her out of respect for her family and his friendship with her brother but Jessi's family persuades him to say yes. After spending a lot of time together they both start to have feeling but Max has a lot of dark secrets in his past that could tear them apart.
I struggled to rate this one but I'm going to say it's a 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars. I read the first two books in this series and absolutely loved them so I couldn't wait to read this one too. I really like the story but I thought ending was a bit weak in some areas. I thought the seriousness of the relationship at the very end escalated really quickly and just felt odd. Finding out who her "stalker" was was very anticlimactic as well. That was supposed to be what the whole book was about and the big reveal was a letdown. (in my opinion) BUT I do have to say that I liked them together. I'm really glad we didn't have to deal with any "ex drama" either since he was described repeatedly as a bit of a man whore.
I knew I’d love this one because Crowne did such fabulous things with the first two books and I was so anxious to see what she would do for the oh-so-sexy Max :) Even though he’s done extremely well for himself, Max still feels unworthy of Jessi for so many reasons – the way he grew up, the things he did surviving on the streets, their age difference, his relationship with her family. Jessi though sees the man he is now and is convinced that nothing he’s done can change how she feels about him. And now she’s got the perfect chance to make him see it too.
The Tuckers are a force unto themselves! Smart, funny, caring and stubborn, once they start something they don’t give up easily. And Jessi is going to need all of that to help her get through to Max. As the two spend time together he starts letting slip some of the reasons why he’s been fighting their attraction so hard and it’s heartbreaking, for her and for us.
Unfortunately Max can be just as set in his thinking as she is so he’s not going to go down without a fight. Convinced that he’s not good enough to be loved (completely missing how much his friends already love him and how they would do just about anything for him) Max has done everything he can to resist Jessi but close contact for too long pushes even him to the limit … and what a fabulous time that turns out to be :)
Interestingly enough the stalker part of it doesn’t play that big of a role, except to throw the two of them together and as a means to give them some alone time. I actually liked the way it is handled because it makes sense in the story but if you are looking for something more suspense-y I think you might be disappointed. Crowne definitely focuses on the romance part of it, delivering an emotional read full of ups & downs as the two fight for what they believe is right.
(Even though this is part of a series, you can start here ... although, there's a good chance you'll be drawn in too and anxiously await whatever Crowne brings next!)
Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review.
This book turned out to be number 3 in a series. I requested the book on NetGalley because of the cover and the description - famous country singer with a crush on best friend of (in this case) cousin.
Jessi is a 25 year old singer and has had a crush on family friend Max Grayson for 5 years. Max is a professional cage fighter and has also pined for Jessi but he refuses to give in because of his past. He thinks he is not good enough for her. When Jessi is fed up with her family's overbearing security measures she decides to ask Max to pose as her boyfriend. In the meantime she wants to seduce him. How will that go?
At first I was a bit lost in the book. Not everything was explained and had to be deduced. For example it was not explained who Spence was (her singing partner) and some characters from earlier books make an appearance. But as a whole the book could be read as a standalone. I got into the book very quickly, but the story was lagging a bit in the middle. There is not really a lot of story. Just about the past of Max and the fight with his grandmother. Plus it is clear Jessi is not happy as a singer and she has medical issues because of it. The plot where Jessi has received threatening letters fizzles.
I liked the book, but the story was not original or special to me. The characters were okay, I liked them. I rate 3 stars as the writing is quite good.
*** I received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. ***
I started to read this book while in transit, and it surely kept me entertained and held my interest through the whole story. The book is number three in a series, my bad, I hadn't read the previous books, this is perfectly fine as a stand alone, but there's a reference made to the previous stories, and I think a reader would benefit from reading them first. And not only that, but I liked the author's voice, the way the story is told, the characters, and the plot, so I would think the previous stories might be something to check out. The characters are complex, broken, and in turmoil. They were easy to like, and understand. I liked that they thought about things, worked on the issues, and did the work to fix things, that were fixable. The romance was evident, and even though the passion was high, and the attraction powerful on both sides, there's just enough amount of sweetness, and cute moments, to make it fun and enjoyable. The moments of danger, the factor of the stalker, the media circus, Max's relatives, Jessi's admires, all bring new levels, elements of spice and pepper into the tale. The solutions are not obvious, the puzzle not solved until the end. Complex characters, sweet, adorable romance, with added family drama and trace of danger, all ingredients of great entertainment ~ Four Spoons
The third book of the Players series is an enjoyable, easy read that has a lot going on around the edges, but is really just about these two Jessi and Max [Max is a friend of the family]. Jessi has had a crush on Max for a long time. Jessi is determined and successful, but beginning to feel trapped by her fame and family but, Max is stubborn and convinced that he will never be good enough for Jessi. Jessi has a plan to get her family to back off with all the security. The characters are tuff, broken, and in turmoil. They were easy to like, and understand. I liked where they thought about things, worked on the issues, and did what they could to fix things. You have tuff characters, sweet, adorable romance, with a bit of family drama and hint of danger, all make for a great book. Max and Jessi do have some hot sex scenes. Mackenzie Crowne did an awesome job with this series!! I wonder whose story will be next. You really need to check out the Players series.
I really enjoyed this book by Mackenzie Crowne. There hasn't been a book in this series that I haven't enjoyed yet. The story of Max & Jessi is wonderfully written with just the right amount of angst that gets you wondering will they or won't they. Country singer Jessi has a stalker & she's tired of being under her fathers security, she wants to stand on her own & thus comes up with a plan to get what she wants for herself......freedom & Max. Max can handle anything thrown at him except....Jessi. He's been in love with her from the first time he saw her, but doesn't consider himself good enough for her. With a push from her father & cousin (which she doesn't know about) he agrees to take on her security acting as her boyfriend. Unbeknownst to Max the plan is that it becomes real, but life & the past rears its ugly head causing difficulties for them. Definitely recommend this book & the series as well.
In this story we get to see how the characters of the first two books in this series are doing. However, this book works well as a stand alone without having read the other two. This story is well written with strong, likable characters plus a little mystery and some surprises. I highly recommend this sweet, touching story.
ARC received via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
The story of Max and Jessi was everything good! I liked that the heroine was willing to go after what she wanted and that the hero, Max, eventually opened up to receive love. I liked the theme s of this book which included love, familial relationships, forgiveness to one's self and receiving good things and not blocking or sabotaging the good things that are in front of you. There are lots of cute parts in this book!
The third installment of the Players series is an enjoyable, easy read that has a lot going on around the edges, but is really just about these two. Jessi is determined and successful, but beginning to feel trapped by her fame and family, while Max is stubborn, also determined and convinced that no matter how successful he is in life, he will never be good enough for Jessi. There are no surprises in this book – not even the stalker – but that suited me perfectly. Sit back, settle in and enjoy the ride as Jessi figures out how to wriggle her way into Max’s heart.
Because really that title is backwards. Jessi’s heart is already all in. She picked Max the moment she met him, and after five years she’s finally decided to go after him. I liked Jessi. Despite all her success and achievements, she’s inexperienced when it comes to men, but she knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. I especially liked how she chased Max without ever getting too pushy. She also has a few other problems, regarding stress and pressure and the suffocating protection of her family. This does eventually lead to a moment of sheer brattishness from her that I didn’t appreciate too much, but it helped lead to an utterly gorgeous ending, so I can accept it.
As for Max… ah, Max. Protective best friend in the first book (To Win Her Love) and competitive best friend in the second (To Win Her Trust), he finally takes centre stage here. To say he has a few hangups from his childhood would be an understatement, and there is plenty of darkness in his past, but overall he’s a good man, loyal and protective, and I loved seeing him slowly give in to Jessi and open his heart. They’re very cute together and it was great to see his softer side come out – and his passionate one too, providing plenty of heat to help the tale along.
If you’re looking for a romance between two perfectly matched people, one of whom is determined to fight his feelings as much as possible, then give this a try. It’s fun and enjoyable, easy and hot, and a fine addition to the series. I hope it’s not the last one, since there are still a few characters I want to learn more about. Not least, just what went on between Tim and a certain friend…

Oh, Max. I swear I've been wanting this man to have his shot at a much deserved happily-ever-after ever since I first came across him in the first book. He was also somewhat of a mystery and we finally get to know more about him here, and let me tell you, there were surprises with regards to his personal history and background. He comes off as hard-edged, and there's no doubt that he's got an alpha streak to him, but being around Jessi softens him and brings out a side that is only seen when he's with those who know him best. He's very protective of those he cares about, and it's pretty obvious that he cares about Jessi. His past, though, has made him more than hesitant to become heavily invested in what could possibly be stirring between him and his country darling of a superstar. I had a feeling these two would end up getting together because of Jessi's reaction to him when they initially meet, but I was surprised there was a five-year gap between the second and third books, though nothing significant happens within that time frame.
This third book has the added element of suspense, brought about by a stalker who sends Jessi letters that lead to those around her to protect her. I loved that the story didn't go in the direction I would have expected it to, and it's those little surprises that kept me on my toes, not just in this latest addition to the series but all throughout. While each of the books have familiar themes to them, they're able to distinguish themselves with really good writing and enough unique touches that make them memorable reads. The addition of a cast of characters that you can both empathize with and want to cheer on until they get to the happy endings we know are waiting for them has made Mackenzie Crowne's Players series one that I won't soon forget. With Max and Jessi's story plus getting to see how far Jake and Gracie and Tuck and CC have come in their own relationships has made this book even far more endearing, almost as if getting the kind of send-off it deserves. Read the Players series, people. 4.5 stars (rounded off to five stars) for To Win Her Heart. ♥
This is the third book into the series and you may want to read the other books in the series before this one, just because of the characters.
The author did it again with this book and loved the fact that I was hooked in the book. I have to say I believe this book - I favor more over the others.
Jessi Tucker is tired of her family ways when it comes to her. She just wants some freedom and not always have a bodyguard with her. Her father believes that she needs the security when she starts to receive some letters from a fan. With her being a country singer, they won't take the threat lightly but when Jessi decides that she needs to do this on her own, she goes to the one man that she has always had a crush on - Max Grayson. She forms a plan only to backfire on her when she asks Max but then Max surprises her the next day and agrees. She is worried what her family will think when they find out that her and Max are dating but she will do what it takes to get Max to love her just as much as she loves him.
Max Grayson has had a rough past and a childhood that he doesn't talk about. When he decides to be Jessi's boyfriend, he knows that his past will come out. He hopes that it doesn't ruin the friendship and family that he made over the years. He has put himself in a situation that won't be easy to come out of because he has always wanted Jessi since he first met her but thinks he isn't good enough for her. When Jessi starts to go through some things, Max makes a decision and takes her away so she can get better. The more time they are together, the harder it is on Max with letting her go in the long run. He will do what he can for her and when things start to go south, Max will do his hardest to make it better.
I love how you connect with the characters and see a love form between them. The strength that they both have as a person, shows you what they have had to endure in their life. They both change each other and make life better for them when they are together. You will feel as you are in the story with them and you'll want to protect them and fight for them as well.
Great job to the author on another amazing read, I highly recommend.
Fast-paced, interesting and vivid characters, plenty of suspense with a good blend of romance, adventure, twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. The main characters interactions started with distrust yet there was an undeniable chemistry between them. Will they learn to trust each other?? Jessi Tucker is a country music star. She has started having horrible migraine headaches for which she needs medication. She has insomnia, an overbearing family, an extreme Nervousness prior to going on stage and a stalker sending her threatening letters. All she wants is to be able to be free to do what she wants to do whenever without feeling like she is being babysat by family and bodyguards. She would also like a boyfriend or someone to pretend to be. An idea occurs to her…..Ask Max Grayson, her brother’s friend, professional cage fighter who is now a businessman with lots of dark secrets. No way Max wants to play boyfriend and adamantly tells this to Jessie. Then Max discovers about the stalker and threats. He tells Jessie he will play boyfriend leaving out the reason why he changed his mind!! How will this work out between the two? Will their secretsbe too dark to overcome? Extremely well written, the descriptions became solid scenes in my mind making me feel a part of the story. The story was a real page turner!! This is the third book in the Players series. It can be read as a stand alone. Thank you to Net Gallery and Penguin Group for this eBook. My opinion is my own.
