One is never to young to start developing a love of the natural world, and Do You See What I See is the perfect tool to spark that appreciation!
Preschool readers will be delighted by the bright, colorful illustrations in this board book designed for the 0-3 age group. Singing coyotes, running javelinas, and sneaking bobcats are just a few of the lovable animals of the Southwest that will capture the attention of toddlers everywhere. Rhythmic text and vivid illustrations by Paul Mirocha and Rhod Lauffer encourage preschoolers to chime in with the reader, enhancing comprehension and speaking skills.
Rowan is a little on again, off again with this one. Currently, we're on. It's a lovely little book; simple in basic form and premise. I like that it has the more specific name for these critters--pallid bats, stellar's jay--to give kids a stretch. The illustrations are lovely and clear enough that you can also easily simplify the names for kids still figuring out words and identification (Rowan still likes saying "jay bird!"). A solid nature primer for your aspiring little desert rat.
Like the nature walk theme and the specific animal names and images. Could go for a beginning and an end just to mix it up a little or give it a little oomph. We’ll enjoy it anyways without those pieces. Sweet gift from our friend Tara.
Treasure from a Little Free Library. "Do you see what I see? Javelina and baby running from me." ".... Western spotted skunk hiding from me." Gorgeous illustrations of the different critters. Most, admittedly, one would only see in a book as they're too secretive to be seen irl. Perfect for residents, in prep for a visit, and as a souvenir. (And grand for everyone else, too, imo.) I would love to see more in the series or by the creator.
