I like the tutorials in this book and how it takes you step by step, but I felt it wasn't enough information on curly hair in general. It was a nice buy and for whenever creativity strikes and I want to style my hair differently, I will crack this book open. But it really seems pointless in that I could just watch YouTube and basically get the information in this book online.

Great resource. Lots of tips and tricks. I think my hair is not as thick as it needs to be for a lot of the styles in the book. Nonetheless, I’ve learned a lot.

A lot of good advice for curly girls like me...assuming my hair was 10 inches longer. The care advice was useful, but all of the styles were for girls with longer hair--mine is chin-length so only 2 seemed at all feasible.

This book of hairstyles contains beginner to intermediate level hairstyle inspiration with step-by-step tutorials. These styles are all ideal for long hair, although some could be adapted to suit shorter hair. The haircare section had some issues but would be a great place to start for beginners. The resources guide in the back lists several blogs, websites, tools, and suppliers, which is a valuable source of information.

For more curly hair care, I would recommend Curly Girl: The Handbook.

This book is a great "go to" of hair styles for curly girls. A fun way to style that hair that is no behaving or you just need some new ideas. From dressy to casual and with detailed instructions including real photos of multiple gals with each style (that have different hair type) and diagrams of each step! Didn't expect to love this book as much as I do !

**This book was exchanged for an honest review**

I have stick straight hair. My hair can hardly hold a curl. But that being said, by some weird trick in genetics, my younger sister has the biggest, curliest hair I have ever seen, and I have never known what to do with it. How should it be washed properly? Should I be drying it with heat or a towel? What should she do with it while she sleeps so I can know that it's not going to continue to grow until it takes over an entire country like The Gigantic Beard That Was Evil?
Well if you, like me, know nothing about curly hair then this is your go to guide! This book is split into six easy sections that make it great for going back to time and again as you try to tame the wild beast that can sometimes be a curly head of hair. It walks you through step by step as it covers hair care for the specific type of curl you have. With topics from washing and applying product, to coloring and styling. And to top it off there are some beautiful hairstyles with extra tips for a great finish.

I have read another book in this series entitled Braids, Buns and Twists, and found this book just as easy to follow as that one! I definitely recommend this to anyone who struggles to manage their curly mess, or a loved one's.

I won this book in a giveaway from LibraryThing.com for an honest review. It was a good and useful guide for women who want tips on transitioning to "natural hair" or if you want to try out new hairstyles. The author has illustrations and tutorials on how to do a particular hair style and tips on how to achieve healthy hair if you plan on going natural. My favorite thing about the book was the hair care tips. Prior to this guide, I had some knowledge on some of the tips in it, but I learned a few more new things after finishing. Even though i'm not a "naturalista girl", I can use this guide for the remedies or do some styles if I want to wear my hair curly again someday. I recommend this book to people who want to start a healthy hair journey or if they need new ideas on what to do with their hair.

I received a copy from LibraryThing for an honest review. I was really looking forward to see the different types of styles that could be done with curly hair. At first, I was encouraged with the information and reference tools and pictures. However, I didn't like the illustrations of the hair styles and I think the book would have been better to see pictures of the styles as they were created instead of grey illustrations. I also think since the beginning separated types of curly hair, that the sections should have also been separated since wavy curls would look different from tight curls. I was not a fan of this book.

Loved the detailed information it gave on curly hair including the different types and best products to use for those types. I also loved the variety of styles this book provided with easy step by step instructions with pictures included. While this book may be best for those with curly hair it also features hairstyles and information that all hair types can use.

Really good advice for women who have curly hair. The majority of styles are well described and instructions are easy to follow along. There are a few hairstyles where the instructions weren't super clear though. Overall, definitely found some new hairstyles to try out.

What's great about this book (besides everything) is, not only do they give you step-by-step directions for the hairstyles, they also have pictures of those steps as well. Makes things really helpful.
