The book is basically a commentary on the Dhammacakka Sutta and the Greater Satipatthana Sutta. The book draws content from the Satipatthana on how mindfulness can be applied to the sensations even though it does not explicitly go through the actual technique of Vipassana which is used in Vipassana retreats. But still, I would recommend it to those who are about to do their first 10-day Vipassana retreat.
