I thought this book was a start of a new series and was pleasantly surprised when I found a connection to Lore Masters of Elundium. This tale is about a old king who has nothing but daughters and no heir. He wants to hold on to his kingdom so bad that he bets his kingdom on a contest that is so rigged that even his oldest daughter gets caught up in winning. This is her story and how she went about doing just that. Slow starter but once this tale starts to come together you will be glad you read it.
