Erm..... Not so good a book to read but not too bad either. I was constantly annoyed with the h using the word "Erm..." in her responses! The h's mom is a has been celebrities' girlfriend and a backwaters newspaper mentions her mom and hints at the h making a name and inviting readers to spill the deets and she over reacts to what could end up being a 15 min of fame in rural newspapers (yes this book wasn't written in the age of online media yet) The H was an unmemorable placeholder in some ways. He was a 40 year old who married young and divorced young and had a son. He played the field and then didn't want to be trapped into marriage again. He protests and then none of his growth or character development is seen until in the last chapter he is suddenly proposing and wants to have a deeper relationship. The why of it doesn't come through. I guess Simon Sinek has it right when he says start with why. I didn't see the plot twist with her late husband coming until it landed.
Director Connor Malone is sure that a steamy love affair is precisely what Hutton's Spa needs to make its TV ratings soar, but writer Jennet Galbraith puts her foot down.
Sparks might fly whenever they meet, but when they're forced to admit that behind the animosity lies mutual attraction, everyone knows that the heat offscreen will be higher than anything in front of the camera!
