Amazing Book of Origami

Rate this book
Flowers, animals, boxes, and buildings are among the three-dimensional paper figures that can be created with the traditional Japanese art of paper-folding. The Amazing Book of Origami includes step-by-step, full- color photographs detailing the techniques of origami and showing how to manipulate paper at each stage of preparation. As a result, the exceptionally clear instructions in this beautifully illustrated volume are easy to follow, showing the symbols, standard folds, and bases that are used to create most of the models. Author Jon Tremaine was introduced to origami in the 1950's by Robert Harbin, who has been long recognized as the Englishman who made origami well-known in the West.

Four stars because it has some of the best photographic instructions I have encountered.

Most patterns ask for either a pair of scissors or a piece of paper that isn't square.

They're all easy to master. Great gift for someone who wants to teach themselves the basics of origami.
