Dax and Drakthira enter the Myste with Trakon and Sylas by their side. They are intent on continuing their quest to figure out how to destroy the mysterious Dragon Orb created by Jessa Dragonheart and free the dragons. Once inside the grey abyss, things don’t go as planned, and the party is soon split up.

Trakon is led astray by what appears to be a little girl claiming to be lost, and it is up to Sylas to find and bring him back. There are many dangers in the Myste, and it takes all of his knowledge and cunning to keep the old man safe, especially since Trakon’s ability to funnel earth magic makes him a valuable commodity. Along the way they pick up a fey woman who helps them with their quest, but Sylas is suspicious of her motives towards his friend and creator. Will she try to capture the old man and keep him prisoner so she can have access to his magic?

Daxon is forced to come to terms with his past and accept that he is not what he seems. His struggle will lead both him and Drakthira into the depths of the past where they will discover his true origins. Once faced with the truth, will ‘Thira be able to help Dax accept his dark past? Or will he be lost to her forever?

I am the author of the Dragons of Daegonlot series. Goodreads caught my eye when I randomly googled my name and saw my book pop up on here, and after looking over the website, I loved it and thought I would join!

Aside from being a new author, I love to read. I've always been an avid Stephen King fan, among many others, including Terry Brooks and David Farland. I mostly like horror, fiction, and fantasy books, and what I love most about this website is that you can rate them and recommend them. Anyway, I hope to really enjoy my time here, as I hope everyone else does as well. So, let's keep reading!

This book is a mind-blowing sequel to Dragons of Daegonlot: Dragon Orb. It continues where it left off with loads of twists and surprises. I could not put it down. The originality of the characters impressed me. I also found it easy to feel the emotions of those characters. This series is a true triumph by Shanlynn Walker!

Loved it very interesting

The book continued right where it left off pretty much. You get to understand more of the character depth of the dog Sylis the earth mage dragon rider Trekan and Dax who bonded mate Female dragon Drakthira. I think I got spelling close can't remember. I was very happy to learn love she and Dax shared and hope there can be more. Also really can't wait for next book the adventure interesting. When I was listening to it at parts I was like why couldn't she go comfort her bond mate but she just stayed in shadows. I also gotta remember she just a hatchling until like 6 months of age for her. At least she and Dax will never die since they bonded hopefully. It also be nice if there can be some scenes of Drakthira and Dax showing there comfort and love to each other by like her curling around Dax and holding him tightly to her belly that very warm and protecting him from evil of the night that may be there seeking to eat him. Dax should also hug her tightly with love and maybe they could kiss since they bonded and share love like no other. Also the Myste is very interesting, we learn more about it history during this book to.

Picking up right where the first one left off, "Into the Myste" takes an already fun premise and mixes it with a healthy dose of intrigue and imagination. In this, we get to explore our hero's past, and watch as he transforms - quite literally - through the trials of the mysterious Myste.

There's so much imagination in this work, it comes across as fresh and new. The characters are each interesting in their own way, and the story is progressing at a steady pace that still leaves plenty of time and space for development. Now the quest has taken a stronger direction, and the heroes continue to grow and be shaped even as they seek to shape the world around them.

I can't recommend this book enough to fans of fun, light-hearted fantasy with a good dose of intrigue. If you love dragons and the concept of dragon-riders, give these books a read.

I was so impressed by this book. It picked up where the first book left off, yet I had no trouble following along despite the year or so in between readings (which is I think the ideal for a book in a series). I was engrossed every minute as the plot kept a good pace. The four POV characters changed and developed, revealed who they were and became someone new. I felt like I understood them, even though none of them are human or often even human-like. As it's the middle of a series, there are some open threads at the end, yet it also had a sense of conclusion on its own that is essential, and Shanlynn nailed it here. I will definitely be reading the next one!

The fantasy adventure continues from Book 1 in the Dragons of Daegonlot series and follows the characters that were introduced in Dragon Orb as they struggle to navigate the strange Myste world they’ve entered to continue their quest. They must fight to overcome the shape-shifting creatures that dwell within the Myste who seek to feed from them. I enjoyed the book, and the highlight for me was the creative imagination of the author who has worked hard to dream up a fantasy world with fantastic characters. Looking forward to the next book.

Hmmm did not like the second book as much as the first. There is a loong section in the middle of the book about Myste (or wandering around in the fog), prepare to be bored! The rest was great.

Interesting

Interesting read with twists and turns as magic and treachery intertwine while lives struggle to become one of two as the dragons struggle to survive

I got lucky enough to get to Beta read this novel :) This was my first beta read and I loved it because I was able to give feedback before the book got released, I felt important, lol. That being said I gladly accepted this book having loved the first one in the series. This book is a perfect continuation of the story and we grew to know more about the main characters. I love the dog, I know shocker, but Sylas was an interesting and a very original character. However at times the story dragged as it was just them wandering which slowed the story down and didn't hold my interest as well. That being said if you love dragon novels this one you are sure to enjoy.

Disclaimer:
I won this book as a prize in the Goodreads Giveaways.

I grew up on Anne McCaffrey, David Eddings and Robert Jordan. Sadly, this book doesn't compare to any of them. Plus the tiny font in a larger than normal book ticked me off.

This series should become a movie

Unlike Eragon, we now have the ability to make something like this possible in picture form, and I think it would be incredibly magical, and beyond amazing, if done correctly, of course.

Cute story. Promises to be a good series.

Good dragon story. The character development is good, the dragon is adorable with fun communication skills. The story is different from others i have read, so it is a unique setting and storyline.
