This is an ok book, just don't expect practice recipes. You'll have to create these yourself from the given material, which is not too hard.
The book gives a nice overview of quite a few techniques from the trade. Not in detail, but it's a good introduction if you want to know what's out there. From there on you can find more detailed information on the things you would like to learn more about.

It's not a method book, more a reference of what is being used in jazz. Reasonably mainstream and skips on things like negative harmony, Barry Harris 6th approach, and in fact points out errors in fake books that might not be errors really, but just perfectly ok reharmonizations.
