There wasn’t one happy person in this book and it was depressing to read. Cancer, infertility, Alzheimer’s, family feuds– all of it was grist for the angst mill – but it left me cold.

This is Book Three in the four part Bayou Billionaires series. No need to read the other stories because the reader is treated to page after page of those character’s histories even though those characters do nothing more than breeze by at a cocktail party (for charity – these are altruistic billionaires) or talk about going shopping in a heart warming girl power moment..

The premise – philanthropist wife of star quarterback and billionaire (our heroine) is facing a biopsy after having a full mastectomy and hysterectomy because she carries a cancer gene that killed all the women in her family. She has been freezing out the hero for six months because she doesn’t want him to grieve like her father did. And that’s it. She tells him nothing through most of the story. Just that she wants a divorce – over and over again.

The hero also refuses to tell his nosy brothers anything through the whole story. They had no idea the heroine went through all that surgery or the infertility scares before that. So everyone speculates on the state of their marriage based on nothing. And when the hero freezes them out, they worry about their own impeding marriages. If the hero can’t be happy, how can they?

The football player scenes didn’t ring true – not that I know anything about football – but give me Susan Elizabeth Phillips any day of the week.

All the freezing out and non communication gets really boring. The characters go in circles, but they are nicely dressed doing it with the author name-dropping every expensive label and car and household furnishings you can think of.

The characters stay firmly in the shallow end of the emotional pool. Example – we’re told several times the heroine has gone down a cup size when she had restorative surgery – does that matter? Is a C cup more noble than a D cup? Inquiring minds want to know. Oh, and Alzheimer grandpa notices she’s perkier in the chest area. Is that supposed to be lighthearted? So many wrong notes in this story.

Okay book, which is something I never expected to say about a Catherine Mann book, but in this case I spent most of the book wanting to shake Fiona. Henri and Fiona met and married quickly. Their chemistry had been explosive, and when she got pregnant they married immediately. Unfortunately, she lost the baby, and they spent the next several years trying to get pregnant. In the course of fertility testing, they discovered that she carried the gene for both breast and ovarian cancer, diseases that her mother, grandmother and aunt died of. She made the decision to have preventative surgery, but ever since then she's been pulling away from Henri.

Henri doesn't know what is going on with the woman he loves. The distraction of his marital problems is messing with success on the football field and he wants to get both of them back on track. It seems that no matter what he does, Fiona keeps pushing him away and telling him that their marriage is over. Wanting more time to win her back, he uses the need to keep their troubles out of the press as a way to delay the final split.

I like Henri most of the time. He had a few issues that kept him from being great, the biggest being the fallout from his mother's abandonment of him and his brothers and his father's infidelities. This has made him wary of being "all in" in a relationship. This keeps him from telling Fiona the true depth of his feelings, though he certainly shows her often enough. I liked the way that he never blamed her for their inability to have kids, and he supported her throughout her medical issues. He treated her gently while she was recovering, and gave her the space she wanted. His frustration with her is obvious and reasonable, as she won't explain why she wants to end their marriage.

I can't say that I hated Fiona, but I had trouble liking her too. She has a wonderful husband who wants to be there for her and all she does is push him away. She admits to herself that she loves him, but she doesn't believe that he really loves her, that he is only there because he feels obligated because of her health. She watched her father suffer through her mother's illness and death, and his devastation afterwards, and doesn't want to put Henri through that if she ends up with cancer after all. So she is determined to end their marriage and free him to find someone else. I got so mad at her because she was pushing him away because of what might happen, instead of celebrating what they have now. She told herself that she was protecting him from later misery.

The attraction between them was still strong. I could understand Fiona's worries about her body for awhile, but not after Henri made it plain that he wanted her just as she is. It made me mad when she would give in to the desire between them, but still insist that their marriage had to end. It was really sweet to see how Henri tried romancing her. Their "tourist day" in their hometown of New Orleans was terrific and showed just how much was still between them. Henri doesn't want to lose her, but he begins to lose hope that their marriage can be saved. I really wanted to lock them in a room and tell them to just TALK to each other.

I loved the support they both got from his family. Though his brothers can sometimes be a pain, they try to help him with his problem. I also liked the way that their ladies tried to help Fiona. It was hard to believe that with all the love that was there, Henri and Fiona kept her medical problems secret, cutting off the support they could have had all along. It was great to see that their love started to break through Fiona's wall, but it was a letter from one of the charity fundraiser attendees that finally opened Fiona's eyes. I loved her big moment, and hope the next book gives us a glimpse of a happier future for them.

First of all, let me say that I love the Bayou Billionaires. I've read the first two books and loved each. They are sexy and fun. Of course, I have read other books by authors of these books, so I knew that these were going to be great.

Now, I have to comment on the hot guy on the cover. Ooo La La, but I think Harlequin has never ever ever watched football. This guy is not a football player, at least not American football. Though I could see him playing soccer, move over Beckham.

I liked that this installment is about fixing up a broken relationship. Part of the reason for this is of a more serious nature. Fiona has the breast cancer/ovarian cancer gene and she opts for surgery to prevent getting the cancer that killed her mom and grandmother, as well as her aunt. She's a frustrating heroine though. Seriously, I could have smacked her a few times, or given her a good shake, especially since she had such a great husband.

Of course, in some ways her actions can be justified. She's scared. She doesn't want Henri hurting if she gets sick. However I can't figure out how she can continually push him away when he wants to be with her, to help her. It was pretty obvious his actions were from love and not pity.

Harlequin is known for its alpha males, and once again I was pleasantly surprised to find a hero that wasn't alpha. Henri was pretty close to perfect. Anyone would want to be married to him.

You will see the ladies from the other books too, I love Erika and Adelaide. The really played a great role in this story, being supportive of Fiona

I totally loved this book!

As an aside I would love to see this topic tackled in a romance where the characters weren't wealthy.

One-Sentence Summary: Divorce and cancer

Review: This book is unlike any other Harlequin book that I've ever read.

It's classed as a romance but I for one failed to see any. What we have instead is a case-study on what happens when cancer and divorce becomes the third wheel in the marriage.

I felt like we hardly got to know Henri and Fiona themselves and instead they were stock characters based upon their reactions to Fiona's medical issues.

As to their interaction it was a case of one step forward, two steps back all the way through the book. Fiona would kiss Henri one minute and be telling him that she was carrying on with the divorce the next.

I'm afraid to say that this didn't work for me on any level.

3.5 STARS!!

"Reunited with the Rebel Billionaire" by Catherine Mann. So, I was really looking forward to this story. I have read the previous works in this series and have enjoyed them (just a note - I don't think it's necessary to read the previous books to enjoy this one but you might want to). I have liked Henri in the previous books and was excited his time had come. And Henri did not disappoint. Wow! How Fiona could think of leaving him is beyond me. He truly loves her and would do anything for her! Fiona was more of a hit or miss character for me. At times my heart ached for her and at other times, I just wanted to smack her upside the head. There is also such a strong sense of family in this story. I loved how the previous heroines were there for her and the brothers were true brothers to Henri. Although, to be honest, I didn't get why Henri and Fiona kept so much from them. Overall, I enjoyed this read, not quite as much as the previous tales in the series but still was an easy, quick read. Smooth Reading

I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Fiona and Henry. The struggle of dealing with cancer was real. It took them a while to discover the importance of love and family but it was worth the journey.

Great series

This is a great series. Love stories in each but the true story is the love and support of a family. Even when they're not perfect

After seeing Henri in his half-brother Dempsey's book ( His Secretary's Surprise Fiancé ), I was anxious to get to this one. It was clear that things weren't as they should be in his marriage, and equally clear that Henri was upset about it and wanted to change that fact. Second chance romance! With football! Clearly it was going to be a win-win.

In some ways, it was. Seeing Henri in his own book, I liked him even more. He's a great guy--a star quarterback who loves his wife, gets along (mostly) with his brothers, and cares for his ailing grandfather. He truly doesn't understand what has gone wrong with his marriage, or what he can do to fix it, though he's determined to try. It's doubly hard for him because first Gervais ( His Pregnant Princess Bride ) and now Dempsey have found the loves of their lives, yet his wife keeps bringing up divorce.

Because he and Fiona have secrets.

They married three years ago after a very short courtship, because Fiona became pregnant--only to lose the baby. Undeterred, they kept trying for more kids--through a second trimester miscarriage and infertility treatments--until her doctors pointed out that her family history of cancer (her mother, aunt, and grandmother all died fairly young) combined with those treatments put her more at risk. So she and Henri decided to go the preemptive route--she had a double mastectomy and hysterectomy. Without telling anyone else.

And now Fiona's pushing him away. Her justification for this is a combination of 1) the fear that he'll reject her as she is now (though he makes it clear over and over that he loves and wants her as she is, and that he believes she's a strong person for all she's gone through), 2) a belief that he'd only stay with her from a sense of pity and/or obligation (see last parenthesis) and 3) wanting to save him from the pain and devastation that the men in her family went through, losing the loves of their lives by leaving him before she (maybe, possibly) develops cancer and (eventually) dies.

Only she doesn't exactly tell him any of that. She just says that they need to end their relationship, and that nothing can be done to change the fact that they must split up. And Henri's just as confused as the reader for a good 50% of the book as to why she could possibly believe that. Especially since they sleep together more than once during the novel (prior to that she'd kept a door firmly shut between their now-separate rooms) and both admit--to themselves and even to others--that they still love each other.

So. Frustrating. Why would anyone choose to throw away the possibility of happiness now out of a fear of what might happen eventually in the future? Especially when they've been so proactive and careful to try and keep it from happening? Argh.

Fortunately, she comes around in the end and they manage to get their HEA--it's immensely satisfying, but pretty last minute. Hopefully we'll see them again in the last brother's book ( Secret Baby Scandal ) finally happy together. Henri (and the readers!) definitely deserve it.

Reunited would work well as a standalone. If you haven't read the first two in the series yet, any details you need to know are explained for you here. If you have, it's nice to see the brothers and their fiancees again. Plus, we finally get a glimpse of the elusive Jean-Pierre! Less than two months to go until we find out his story...

Reunited with the Rebel Billionaire is an extremely well-written and deeply emotional romance about an emotionally and physically scarred young woman, her handsome, sexy football star husband, their failing marriage, and the secret she can't bring herself to tell him because of her own fears and lack of confidence. It's also a story about grief and loss and the damage it can take on a marriage when the couple in question can't communicate their fears and their pain.

You guys, this book broke my heart in so many ways. I felt so much for Fiona and Henri and I wanted so badly to go into my kindle and hug them both. Then I wanted to set them both down and have an honest and real talk about trust and communication and finding a way to let go of all the fears that hold them back.

Reunited with the Rebel Billionaire was such a unique book for me. It was still powerful, provocative, and passionate, as is the Desire line, but it was so much more than that, too. It had true real-to-life emotion simmering all throughout its pages, with real pain and fear and hope and want. It had a woman who acted coldly, not out of lack of feeling, but out of protection for feeling too much. So, so much.

Fiona's fears about her health drive this story so well and lends shape to a powerful story about love and loss and healing. Henri is so confused about Fiona's insistence on ending their marriage, and rightly so, because he doesn't immediately know what is going on with his wife or why she's so determined on ending things between them sooner than they originally talked about, but he wants her. That has never changed for him. And he's determined to win her back--and man, I loved his tactics in doing so. Fiona is more than worth the effort Henri places into winning her heart again, despite her coldness and mixed signals at times.

I'm so glad I got the chance to read this incredibly moving romance. Because Reunited with the Rebel Billionaire did move me. It did make me ache for both Fiona and Henri, for two different yet similar reasons. What Fiona went through, all the pain and heartache, disappointment and hope, devastation and suffering, Henri went through it with her. Maybe he didn't feel the loss and pain physically like Fiona did, but it left a deep mark on him inside, just as it left its mark on Fiona.

If you love compelling, engaging, and highly emotional second chance romance reads, Reunited with the Rebel Billionaire is an excellent and story to pick up. In many ways, to me, it almost felt like a cross between an angst-ridden Presents and a powerful, provocative Desire, and maybe that's why I loved it so much. It contained the best of both Harlequin lines, and it worked really, really well for me.

Hardcore loved it!

Reunited with the Rebel Billionaire is a real intense story. I really loved the storyline. From reading the blurb to actually reading the story is not really the same thing. The story is about Fiona, she has major health problems and has taken an active step to try and stop it. Her Mother and Grandmother died from Ovarian and breast cancer. I feel this is a very serious and sensitive topic and the author did a great job of writing this story. I had a hard time liking Fiona, I didn’t really understand why she was putting such a
distance between her husband. I have never been in this type of situation before so I can’t judge. Yes, to me all characters are real people. I think Fiona was scared and afraid of hurting her husband and his career. Yes, you will need to read the book to find out why. I did like Fiona, but it was hard too. She is a very strong person in this story and was afraid to ask for help. If I was in her situation, I might also do as she did. I just don’t know. But the story to me is well written. I don’t have to like or agree with the character to still love the book. It is an emotional story.
Ok now for Henri, rich, famous football player, handsome and loves his wife. Wow what more could a woman want. I loved his character and loved how he tried and really didn’t know what to do to help. But he wants to be supportive. Fiona is a big part of his life, she helped the wives on the team as well and did a lot of charity work. She is smart educated and also wanted and needed something that couldn’t happen.
This is the first time reading this series and also this author, I felt her writing was fantastic and I felt like I was right there in the story, except I wasn’t so I couldn’t tell Fiona what to do.
I also have to agree with another reviewer, I don’t think the cover for this book works. The guy on the cover doesn’t look like a hard body football player.
I am still giving this book five stars. It is worth the read.

Note: I received a review copy as part of the book blog tour that I’m participating in.

This series is out of my comfort zone as I don’t normally read steamy romances, but I’m glad that I did.

This my first Catherine Mann book, but the second book in the series that I’ve read. I haven’t read the first book, but I think that you could read it as a standalone if you don’t mind being “spoiled” about the previous books.

Reunited with the Rebel Billionaire is Henri and Fiona’s story. Right off the bat I’m going to say that I didn’t care for Fiona at all. She is a selfish woman who refused to allow anyone to care for her as she saw herself as a burden on her husband and his family.

Henri wasn’t much more likable as he really only thought about bedding his wife. Even when showing concern for her when she showed any sign of vulnerability all he could think about was sex.

Undeniably, however, is how much chemistry they still had together. Henri may have thought with the lower half of himself, but he still loved his wife and wanted to be married to her. She, however, just wanted to do everything on her own and not “burden” anyone.

I enjoyed getting to read a little bit more of Erika and Adelaide again. Together all three women – married//engaged to the formidable Reynaud brothers – make a great team, bringing softness into the family dynamic.

A side story was about the swiftly declining health of the men’s grandfather, Leon. He truly was the one person that Fiona felt comfortable with, even when he didn’t remember who she was.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I love series, especially series that are about families and getting to meet each member and what they bring to the family dynamic. Catherine Mann is a great writer who spins a love story amongst historical surroundings (in this case, New Orleans culture), and sports.

I never thought I would enjoy a book in relation to football, but both Mann and Rock, who cowrites the Billionaire Brothers series, have me one-clicking as soon as a new book is released.

This is the third book in the Bayou Billionaire series with the Reynaud brother's. This book follows Henri and Fiona. I have enjoyed these brother's and this series since I started reading them. But Henri has been kind of mysterious in this series. Not as much as their youngest brother Jean-Pierre, but still mysterious.

I feel like we got to know Henri a little bit better in this book. It was obvious he was a sweet, caring and protective person. You could tell how much he cared about football, you could tell how much he cared about his family. But most of all you could tell how much he cared and loved his wife Fiona. How much he wanted to support her and be there through her health scares.

I'm not sure how I feel on Fiona. I kind of have mixed feelings on her. The women in her family carried a cancerous gene and Fiona found out she had it also. Which she went ahead and had surgery so hopefully she wouldn't have the cancer. Than found out that she needed to have a biopsy done. That's about the time she started to push Henri away. I can understand why she felt the need to push people away. But I found her to very stubborn and when she finally realizes she's been stubborn, I almost feel like it was to late.

I thought that this was an enjoyable read. That deals with the issue of cancer tastefully. I really feel like the underlying story line of all of these books in this series is family. How a family connects, how a family sticks together, how you don't have to be blood to be family.

I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5!!!!

Fiona and Henri navigate the challenges of being married quickly and under the spot light in this Happily Ever After story by Catherine Mann. Reunited With the Rebel Billionaire is part of the Bayou Billionaires Series by Catherine Mann and Joanne Rock. They are not required to be read first.
Fiona is a strong woman who always puts others needs and feelings before her own. Whether she is working on her charity functions and coming to the rescue when they are left without a planner or in her personal life. Fiona is quitting her life as she knows it. Fiona has a secret that she is keeping to help protect everyone that she cares for. She works hard to distance herself to keep her secret and protect the ones she loves. She is denying herself the thing she needs the most- someone who can love her, for her, flaws and all.

Henri is a famous football player who is dedicated to breaking the cycle that his father began. He has a team of friends and family depending on him on the field. Little does he know that the most important person to him is keeping a secret, a secret that sends him to the brink of repeating that cycle. Henri turns to his brothers and their significant others to help break through to Fiona. In an ironic twist, Henri’s Grandfather who is slowly succumbing to alzhymeirs is the one who can see the real truth. When a guest at one of Fiona’s fundraising charities sends her a picture it is the catalyst she needs to make a decision, a decision that is the biggest win of all.

Reunited with the Rebel Billionaire is a second chance romance unlike most others, mostly because though the couple couldn't seem further apart, they aren't exactly seperated.

Henri isn't quite sure when his relationship started failing, but he knows one thing, he wants to get it all back on track. He wants more than the distance between them and the secrets they hide.

Fiona is still struggling to get her life back together; to start new, to move forward with her life, and to do so, she believes finally admitting defeat and saying goodbye to her marriage to Henri is the thing to do. But as Fiona finds out, Henri isn't quite so ready to call it quits.

The two grow closer together and learn more about one other's feelings over the last while. They discuss their mistakes, and what htey assume are their failures and it leads to a more stable relationship. But Can they figure it all out and stay the course to happiness? Can they talk about their innermost pains and worries and how to help each other work through them?

Reunitied with the Rebel Billionaire was a quick read with a few emotional twists. Henri and Fiona have been through a lot together and had very little support because of their need for privacy which back fired on them and caused them to fall apart. I really enjoyed watching as they moved passed the Past and were able to be more supportive of the other and more vocal about their needs. It's a beautiful thing when two people are able to finally communicate with each other and share triumphs as well as tragedies.

I am truly falling in love with the Bayou Billionaire series by Cathering Mann & Joanne Rock. Reunited with the Rebel Billionaire is the the 3rd book in the series & Catherine Mann rocked it. In the first two books in the series we see that Henri the 3rd oldest brother of the Reynaud clan & his wife Fiona are having martial problems but in this book we find out what. This was such a heartwarming, sweet romance, beware you will have a few tears coming from your eyes. I just fell in love with Henri, so far my favorite brother, you can just feel how much he loves his wife with everything. They have been through so much but he has stuck right by her side, took his marriage vows series ’til death do us part! Who doesn’t want a sexy husband like that. But I can also feel for Fiona being married to one of the sexiest athletes alive she feels insecure with everything she has been through & just doesn’t want her husband to end up like her father. Enough said on that don’t want to give anything away! If you want to find out about what I am talking about pick a copy up today, you will not disappointed. Thank you to Tasty Book Tours for the opportunity to read & review this book.

I do love a good billionaire romance, and this one was right up my alley with the billionaire in question being a star quarterback. (Sports romances are sort of my thing!) What I loved most about this short novel was that it is filled with so much heart. I do love a quick, sexy romp of a book once in a while, but this one was so much more than that. There is a deep connection between Henri and Fiona that she seems to fight at every turn as she tries to face her demons alone. There were times I wanted to shake some sense into Fiona- I mean, really- must you be so strong to the point of not accepting help from the man who clearly loves ALL of you?!? But- in the end, I loved the gentle push-pull of their relationship and found their chemistry to be off-the-charts hot. This is a Romance, with a capital "R." Super swoon, and tender in all the right places.

If you love a good stray romance with lots of emotion, you'll love this riveting love story about two people so clearly meant to be together, despite the fact that life is making it very difficult for them. Moral of the story- NEVER GIVE UP ON LOVE!

Henri is extremely loyal to both his team and his wife, which actually makes it harder for him to get Fiona to give their marriage a second chance. They have gone through some touch times in their three years of marriage due to medical issues beyond their control. Instead of bringing them closer, it's actually tearing them apart. Henri's desire to reconcile with Fiona is more that just a sense of duty on his part or worry about how a divorce will affect team. Fiona was frustrating the way she is constantly pulling him in and then pushing him away. I understand that she was scared, but instead of protecting Henri from being hurt, she was actually breaking his heart. Lots of their issues could have been avoided if they would have just actually talked about their feelings and their fears. This was definitely more emotional than the first two books in the series. I'm loving the Reynaud brothers, looking forward to Jean-Pierre's story!

Now who can resist a rebel bad boy, that happens to be a football player, a billionaire , a bit damaged, oh let us not forget hot, hunky, sex on a stick, and irresistible. Well I have to be the barer of bad news. I did.

I liked Henri but I did not fall in lusty hot need for him. He was complicated. Understandably so with the life he has had to endure since his mom walked out and then there was his father. All this created a coating around him and his heart, but he did what he did not think he would. He fell in love. He loved his wife. He wanted the marriage to work.

The woman he wants is Fiona. I did not even fall in like with her a little bit. I wanted to slap her most of the book. But that was a good thing for me. I had some very set emotions that made me feel throughout the read. I may not have loved Fiona or falling into lusty hot need for Henri, but I enjoyed there story. I found that it connected with the first two books in this series.

Reunited with the Rebel Billionaire, Book 3 in the Bayou Billionaire series by Catherine Mann is a great story that can be a standalone read, but is better in the series order.
Henri Reynaud, Quarterback for the Reynaud Family team, the New Orleans Hurricanes, married Fiona Harper-Reynaud in haste due to their love of Art and Travel. The unexpected trials they have been through have Fiona making decisions from her fear and not their love for each other.
Catherine Mann adds more information about the Reynaud Family and especially Henri and Fiona. The unexpected things that Henri and Fiona have kept hidden make this a great read. Reunited with the Rebel Billionaire is a sweet read with a little heat. I can’t wait for the next Book in this series. Bayou Billionaires covers: Brothers, Billionaires, Sports-Football, and different ways to find love. This is a series is a must read that I am glad I was given. I can’t wait for Joanne Rock’s last story about Jean-Pierre.
Thanks Catherine Mann & Good Writing

Frustrating story but fantastic storyline

SPOILERS MAYBE. The h bothered me in this. She had the breast cancer gene, had a double mastectomy and kept trying to push everyone away. Especially her wonderful husband Henri. He was really amazing in my opinion and the h kept jerking him like a yoyo! It was hard for me to understand the constant pushing away, even after she has sex with him several times. I thought she was a little selfish really. He wanted to share both the good times and bad but she wouldn't let him and kept pushing for divorce. He was hurting too. My mother survived her first bout with breast cancer and her sister had it too. Both had mastectomy and both survived until their 90's. We were all part of Mom's journey and it not only helped her it helped us. Counseling, seminars, support it was all there and that was a long time ago. The h would have had that available too. I just wish she hadn't pushed him away. It almost ruined the book for me. I did like the ending but all I thought was that it took her long enough. Very frustrating story.

This is the 3rd book in the Bayou Billionaire series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. In order to further reader enjoyment and understanding of the story, I recommend reading this series in order intended.

Henri and Fiona have been through a lot in their marriage. They a have had so much loss. Henri only wants to take care of his wife. Fiona only seems to want to be independent.

Fiona agrees to stay with him to keep up the story that all is well in paradise. There is too much at stake if the truth gets out. Happiness seems fleeting with all that is going on and she wants out before she hurts the one she loves the most.

Such a profound and touching story! The characters truly love one another deeply. A good example of what lengths you would go to, to protect those you love. I could not put it down.

Reunited with the Rebel Billionaire, the latest installment in the Bayou Billionaires series by Catherine Mann, is not the book I expected when I started reading. I should have known better, as Mann is known for her intricate and thoughtful plots. This one takes on the serious subjects of infertility and breast cancer and how they impact even the strongest marriage. Mann takes on these issues with sensitivity and grace. Fiona is struggling with her own experiences and at the start of the book has pushed Henri away to save him from further heartache. The lesson that these types of diagnoses can only be dealt with collaboratively and with lots of support takes Fiona much of the book to realize. The lesson for all of us – we need friends, family, and support systems – is deftly and subtly woven into the story. There are parts of Fiona in all of us and hopefully we can learn from her lessons.

I'm really enjoying getting to know the Reynaud brothers in New Orleans!

Henri Reynaud is the Quarterback for the New Orleans Hurricanes and the man that every woman wants. The season is hot, and they are determined to make it to the big game and come away with a ring this year. His marital woes are weighing heavily on his mind though, so he decides he's going to fix it so he can give the team his all this season.

Fiona Harper-Reynaud throws herself into her causes and plans huge charity events on a regular basis to help those in need. She's a very giving person, but she's not all that willing to give Henri her time and attention in order for him to try to woo her back into his bed. She wants it all to be over, and to be able to go about planning the rest of her life.

Will Henri be able to convince her to give him a second chance or will she walk away?

This was my first book by Catherine Mann, but it is the second book I've read in the Bayou Billionaires Series -- I like the other book MUCH better (thank YOU Joanne Rock).

This book was about two people who walked away from one another, then came back together, then someone stayed together.

I didn't FEEL this story. It left me cold, bored, and wishing it were over already. I pushed through, hoping it would heat up and the story would make me feel ANYTHING, but it didn't.

I'm sorry that I didn't like this book more because I like the Reynaud family, which is the only reason I didn't give this book a two star rating.

Henri Reynaud was the hottest athlete of the year for two years, according to American sports magazine. He was the star quarterback for the New Orleans Hurricanes. >> Fiona Harper met Henri while hosting an art gallery fund raiser for her father. >> They married and moved into his familys mansion. They tried desperately to have a baby. But with each fertility treatment there was a miscarriage. Henri bought them a home of their own, yet their marriage was over in just two short years. Will they find their way back to each other? You will have to read the book to find out! THANK YOU GOODREADS FIRSTREADS FOR THIS FREE BOOK!!!!

I love billionaire romances and I love sports romances, so when you combine them it is even better! Fiona and Henri are on the fast track with their relationship, but when tragedy strikes their relationship hits rocky waters. They need to decide if they were too quick in thinking they belonged together or if they are worth working on. The story is well written and the characters are as well. Both Fiona and Henri are imperfect, but both have positives and negatives. Really nice addition to the series.

"The story begins with a somber tone that shifts from uncertainty to happiness as Fiona and Henri recapture the emotions that brought them together. This series is all about family, and the subject of breast cancer is handled with realism and care, as is the inclusion of aging relatives" (4 stars @ RT Book Reviews).

Henri and Fiona are drifting apart. Within the pages you can still feel the love they have one another, but each of them don't know how to breach the gap. You really don't understand what Fiona is willing to sacrifice for Henri. It shows you the depth of love she has. Can Henri overcome Fiona's fears and give them a chance to make things right? I enjoyed this one because it had a lot of emotion and depth.

4/16 I loved this book by Catherine Mann. Reading it was very emotional to me my older sister had breast cancer. Also my mother had breast cancer so know my chances are pretty good. Fiona has the genes in her family and keeps thinking how hard it would be for her husband Henri. She thinks of it everyday and try's to push Henri away. This book kept me on a roller coaster. But it was excellent reading. Thank you for writing it.
