[Siren The Lynn Hagen ManLove Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, vampires, shape-shifters, HEA] Avery Collins wants a docile, chivalrous mate, but gets Navarez Espelimbergo instead. As a vampire, Rez is intimidating enough, but whenever the man is near, Avery feels as if he's being branded by the tall, dark, and handsome man. Navarez was kidnapped and tortured when a teenager. He hasn't been able to get past the nightmares that still haunt him. He lives with chaos as a constant companion, that is, until he meets Avery, a cat shifter who quiets the demons inside of him and shines light into Rez's dark world. When Avery mysteriously disappears, it's up to Rez to find his mate. He tracks down his mate who is in the clutches of the same man who tortured him all those years ago. Worse, Avery is dying and Jaden shows up to claim his soul, but Rez isn't giving his mate up so easily, not when Avery is carrying his child. ** A Siren Erotic Romance
Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
I am disappointed in how these matings are being handled. I can't say it wasn't nice to find out what happened, vaguely, to Rez during his kidnapping. I don't remember this event even in on the sidelines of any other book in the Brac Universe...So, out of nowhere to learn this happened at some point.
Now, to more recent times... WHY do we need to continue to have life and death at death's door situations? Not that I WANT anyone to die but come on...I really can't agree with getting out of a death sentence of actions just because of your mate's relatives bending the rules... a lot...
I guess the biggest thing is these are the kids... growing up standing on their own.. oops my bad, they aren't quite on track with THAT yet... so while it's nice to see a BRIEF cameo of the parents that we've already read about, I feel like they are having way too much influence. THEY seem to still be solving the problems or at least REALLY helping.. Need less parental involvement.
Amo ver a mi querido Ultionem. Cada vez que aparece Jaden muero por leer su historia✨
Rez y Avery no me encantaron pero su historia estuvo entretenida. Me hubiera gustado un poco más de información sobre lo que le sucedió a Rez con el demonio but it's ok.
Was the first gen this bad? I honestly can't remember.
This story is so, so very wrong, it's actually terrifying. I understand that it's a fantasy, but if you're trying to sell me a guy who doesn't listen when his partner tells him "NO" as commandeering, sexy and romantic I'm just not going to buy it. WHAT IS CONSENT EVEN. Avery is scared of Rez - he's attracted to him, and he tries standing up for himself, but he's definitely not happy that Rez doesn't listen to his protests, overrides his decisions and tries (and succeeds) to wear him down to get him to have sex with him, and to make him agree to different things, including non-negotiated BDSM elements. And you know what nonconsensual "spanking" is called? Hitting someone. Or abuse, if it persists.
If anyone tries that with you in real life, RUN! RUN AND DON'T LOOK BACK.
TW for ablism - using "schizophrenic" as insult and calling people "crazy" and "nutjobs".

Rating: 2.5 stars Another book in this series where I didn’t like one of the main characters. I never warmed up to Navarez throughout most of the book and really felt sorry that Avery was mated to him.
My heart hurts for Navarez. Like, so much. He was just a baby. Also, I don't quite understand the time skip that this universe made, like what happened to the Hunters???

Oh wow!!! This was absolutely incredible. I really love this series, and I won't stop 'til I've read every book. Since I'm also reading, "Christian's Coven", it was awesome to have him reappear in this book when Rez and Avery needed help. I really like this author's style of writing and the way she puts so much personality into the characters. It was cute when a character mentioned Amazon, and they were right. Amazon pretty much does have everything. :) I do realize that Matthew is the alpha in this town but seriously, how could he fight something as strong as a demon alone? I wouldn't even expect that of him or Maverick. Poor Avery has been through so much due to the evil doer wanting to punish somebody close to him. This time it was Rez that the demon wanted to punish. His father and grandfather were amazing and I was on the edge of my seat reading this. I was so pulled into this story from beginning to end as I usually am with the books of Lynn Hagen (at least the two series that I'm reading of hers). I hope that Avery, who is a very unique kitty(ocelot), and Rez, the vampire, can finally find peace in their life now. Avery definitely brought a calmness to Rez that he didn't ordinarily feel. This was an exceptional read and now I'm on to the next book in the series. :)
Avery has come out of his shell he is not going to let fear rule his life anymore. Yet when a walking wet dream comes in to his work all Avery can do is stare . Sexy and dangerous that is what Navarez is, also he happens to be vampire
Navarez stops in town and meets his mate, a sweet cat shifter named Avery. Rez to his friends has a horrific past that he has not been able to overcome. Fate knows what she's doing because Rez is calm when Avery is with him. He is blessed when Avery accepts him and they mate. Avery goes back to his house the next day to finds his house has been ransacked. He is threatened, but doesn't know why. Rez takes action, Avery is moved in with Rez in the Alpha's house. A little while later Avery gets kidnapped, but same demon who had tortured Rez as a teenager. Absolutely loved this book, I have wanted to read Avery's story for a while.
Ja, ja, me gustó mucho.

Pretty much follows the same three or four plots as the rest of theBrac Village series. All that changes are the names. My first complaint......always a diminutive girly guy mated to a he-man type character. It always happens the one or both don't wanna be mated, but quickly has a change of heart. My second more trivial complaint........other than the Lakelands, there doesn't seem to be a hairy chest in the series!
Another thing that grates on me is the way the author refers to one of the characters as "the man" . well, Ms Hagan "man up" and give us some real men instead of the girly mates that you have been forcing on us!
This is actually my favorite so far in this "new" Brac Pack world or new generation. The only problem I have is. ..did I miss something long ago with Rez?? If I did, I apologize. ..if not ..what the heck? ? I would have loved to have read about what happened to him 10 years ago. That had the potential to be a damn good angst driven and a emotional roller-coaster of a read and would have definitely elevated the author to new heights of done correctly. Sigh. .ahhhhhh well. ..
Extra star given cause Ceri is just that Bad Ass! ! Still! !
I thought Rez wasn't a good mate for Avery. He just isn't compassionate enough for my docile and timid Avery. Rez pushed him way too fast and I didn't like it. I never felt like their mating/relationship ever really got on the ground before the book was finished.
This was just an ok read.... I love this author and the bracverse but I'm having a hard time so far with this next gen series.... It's like it's written by someone else... I will continue the series because I've read every book so far.... I'm just hoping they get better....
It wasn't bad but not great either. I enjoyed the Ultionem making an appearance in this one. Maybe more than the actual Red&Rez story because to be honest, it seemed too short and rushed to me. :/
