I previously read a different romance genre, "A Soldier's Triumph" from the author, Lynne St. James. It was a romance novel. I love her writing and the characters that came to life full of drama and romance. I didn't hesitate to read this story of " Embracing Her Desires", a paranormal romance. She gave just the right amount of detail as each character is introduced with a good flow of drama, suspense, mystery, and romance with a high impact at the end that makes the story a page turner. As the story goes Hope has a very promising job in New York and likes her life fine until she inherits a house from a relative she's never known. The inheritance is in a special place that's secretly hidden from the world that is magical with beings that are not like regular humans. The inheritance comes with a few exceptions and requirements, but it may not be easy for her to make that choice of having a much different life than the one she's been living. If she chooses to except her destiny she was meant to have, it will come with benefits. One of those surprising benefits is two very handsome men that were meant to be her mates for life, who will give her all the love she needs if she will only stay in Anamchara. I highly recommend this book to adults 18+ who like some erotica with paranormal romance.

This was a superbly written fantasy. I loved the characters, Hope was a heroine who I could relate to. I understood her ambition and drive, and her reluctance to uproot her life when confronted with her inheritance. She was a smart and savvy lady who deserved nothing but the best, and she found it with Jase and Cooper. They were wonderful men, who were honorable, and HOT. The whole setting, town, characters, right down to the house that Hope inherits was a magical masterpiece. I can't wait to read more of this series. What a fantastic novel!

Embracing Her Desires by Lynne St. James is a fun read about a mystical and magical place. I was intrigued just from the book synopsis and am happy to report that the story lived up to the expectations set by that quick peek.

Embracing Her Desires is the first book in the Anamchara series. It tells the story of Hope Brooks, a dedicated career woman who has been without family since she was a child. Hope receives a certified letter notifying her of an inheritance she has received from a long lost relative. The letter states that she must go to Anamchara to claim her inheritance. Once there, Hope meets two attractive men who are about to change her life.

Jason “Jase” Pierce and Cooper Maxwell, III have been waiting for their mate for a very long time. When Hope arrives in Anamchara, the best friends recognize her immediately as their mate. Now they just need to convince her as well as reveal the secrets behind their magical hometown. But is Hope ready to accept everything that Anamchara has to offer?

I really liked the male characters in Embracing Her Desires. Jase and Cooper were very realistic for paranormal guys. Their friendly bickering and teasing always made me laugh and their sexiness was evident on every page. Their differing personalities complemented each other and provided Hope with everything she could ever need. Neither man was perfect which made them authentic and very desirable.

I did have some problems with Hope though. While I know that this is a fictional book, I still expect and hope that the characters have real emotions and reactions because that helps me relate to the characters. Hope was unbelievably accepting of the secrets that were revealed about Jase, Cooper and the town. I kept shaking my head at her understanding because it just came too easy. I was freaked out by things and they weren’t even happening to me. This just kept me from connecting with her.

The storyline on the other hand, was fantastic and magical. I loved the history that Ms. St. James provided and it helped explain everything that was happening. While this is definitely a paranormal story, the relationships are human so don’t be scared off by the genre. Even the secondary characters were intriguing and I can’t wait to learn more about them and their secrets.

Speaking of secrets . . . Embracing Her Desires ends on a bit of a cliffhanger story wise. But not romance wise so you will still get your happy ending. That’s all I can say without giving anything else away. The second book in the series is already out so you won’t have to wait long to know what happens next. That’s good because I didn’t want to leave Anamchara and neither will you.

Lynne St James suckers you in right from the start her book is full of everything you want and need in a great romance you have mystery, magic, shifters, and a mystical element.

Embracing Her Desire is the first book of the Anamchara series it tells us the tale of Hope Brooks, her career is everything to her and has always been first in her life since she doesn't have any family. Hope life is about to change as well as the very world she knows, when she receives this certified letter telling her about an inheritance she is entitled to receive but she must come to Anamchara to receive it. Once she reaches Anamchara Hope meets two gorgeous men ones that are going to make her like very interesting to say the least.

Jason “Jase” Pierce and Cooper Maxwell, III are the very best friends and so much more. They have always known they were destined to share a mate together. They have been waiting so patiently for their mate for such a long time.

When Hope finally arrives in to the quaint town of Anamchara, the two friends recognize her straight away as their mate there destiny. all they have to do is just convince her that she is there's as well as reveal all of the secrets behind their magical home town.

But will Hope be ready to accept everything that they and Anamchara has to offer or will she run like the wind?

Or will the past hurts catch up with them all and destroy what was put into place hundreds of years ago?

I admit i fell hard for Jase and Cooper they are fantastic both of them, So different yet so believable. I love there friendly bickering it made me smile throughout, and talk about sexy man o man these two have it in droves.

Hope bless her she has allot to cope with her inheritance two sexy men not to mention her having a kick butt house which is magical and has a sense of humour.

Overall a great read which will leave you wanting more and more of Lynne St James books. not to mention we are left with a bit of a cliffhanger :) but don't worry everyone they get there happily ever after. am so glad that book 2 and 3 are out now so I can carry on reading,

Soul mates would be safe and love would blossom. That is what Anamchara is all about! What on earth was I thinking?!?! How could I have possibly not read this any sooner?!? IT IS MAGICALLY DELICIOUS!! Oh wait! Can I say that? Ha! I just did! This is such a fantasmic story!!! It is a lighter, easier read, until, of course, it isn't. But don't mistake that for meaning it doesn't have a great storyline or that it is lacking in any way! Because it's not lacking in anything!! There is humor (Easy, wolfie, no growling in the house.), romance, friendship, hot sex, magic, shifters, spells and oh so much more!! I love the lightheartedness to it as it brings a true magical aspect to the shifter romance part of the storyline. There are so many twists, turns & surprises in this story which all help to make it so fantastic! I had planned on only reading for a few minutes before bed, but I couldn't put it down! I actually read the whole book in one sitting, it is that great!!! I giggled a few times with some of the sayings & phrases because I say those all the time!! Like "no sh*t, Sherlock" and "Holy F$*#". It's refreshing to read 'real' chatting. snicker This is such a rich story steeped with history & secrets, while still being a howling perfect read! This is the first story of Lynne’s that I have read and I am absolutely addicted! I love her writing, the humor, the hotness and just how everything comes together!!! I love Anamchara and can't wait to visit again! Lynne has definitely woven her magical spell and ensnared me in its grasp, and I don’t foresee being released any time soon…if ever!! I am in need of a change myself. Since I am tired of waiting on my 'mate mail' to 'arrive', I have decided to take matters into my own hands, or wings as the case may be. Hopefully being an owl shifter will be enough to help me find Anamchara. Hmmmm, now where did I put that map? I wonder if Lynne has the exact directions to Anamchara... WAITAMINUTE!! This feeling I have, to go to Anamchara, is THAT my mate calling to me???

This is my first read by Lynne St. James and it was a thoroughly enjoyable story of a big city girl who is left property and wealth by a grandmother she never met, with some interesting provisos in the will that may determine whether she actually inherits or not.

Hope is a powerhouse in her preferred profession and has worked long and hard to ensure her suitability for the converted VP role at her New York agency. But as will all high profile jobs, there are always those nipping at your heels in the hopes you will stumble and fail. So with all this looming, the last thing Hope needs is an unexpected trip to rural Virginia and a clause in her grandmother’s will stating that she must stay 6 months before she can claim her inheritance.

Jase and Cooper have been friends since childhood and even though Cooper spent time away at college and then working in Boston, they have always known they would one day share a mate. So when Hope finally arrives in Anamchara they pin all their hopes and dreams on her acceptance of their destined bond and the charm of this tranquil paradise to entice her to stay.

But is anything truly as it seems?

Anamchara is magical and serene, but it also has secrets that not even Jase, Cooper or the rest of the paranormal community are aware, and these secrets are about to bring a long forgotten danger to their door and the threat of destruction to the tenuous bond which has just begun to form with their one true love.

I enjoyed the world building, the flow and consistency of the storyline, and the development of the characters and their roles. While Jase was the cheeky, fun loving and occasionally obstinate flirt, Cooper was the soft spoken professional and rational voice of reason; and Hope, while unsure and confused by her new reality at times remained strong, determined and often sassy in her dealings with these undeniably sexy males.

A wonderful start to the series but the Peacock was a bit much, was just too far fetched for my tastes. But overall this was a great read and I will definitely read the next in the series.

This is the first book of Lynn St. James I have read and I can tell you, after reading Embracing Her Desires it will NOT be the last. Embracing Her Desires was truly a great paranormal romance. It was really nice to see that Ms. James created a heroine that was more then werewolf.

Sometimes I am a bit iffy with paranormal romance featuring werewolves because I can never tell until I read it what exactly I will be getting. I am afraid that I will get something that gets too kinky, for instance I fear that some of the sex scenes will be a little too raunchy for my liking, almost borderline bestiality. I was happy to say Embracing Her Desires was a real tasty paranormal romance worth reading.

I liked the heroes very much. Jase is fun, almost care-free, and sexy as sin, while Cooper is a bit more series but still sexy and is just as enjoyable to be around. Hope is such a wonderful heroine. I thought she was a great character for this small town of Anamchara.

At first I assumed Hope was human. When I learned she was more then human and more then werewolf I was really ecstatic and thought it definitely added much more appeal to her character and to the story. The sex scenes were scorching and the storyline well written and thought out. I really believe that Embracing Her Desires deserves a FULL FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS! Embracing Her Desires is an erotic paranormal delight that will have the readers coming back to Anamchara. If you haven't picked up your copy of Embracing Her Desires by Lynn St. James, then do so and see what all the hubbub is all about.

We begin with the reason Anamchara was created and the tragic history that brought it to pass and the lovely magic that surround this town to keep it safe.
Rich in description, Lynne St James brings to life the town of Anamchara Virginia and the characters that were raised or were fortunate enough to find there way to this magical place. Shoot, I would love to live there!
Hope Brooks, receives a letter stating she must be present for the reading and signing of a will regarding a grandmother she never knew existed. Taking leave from her New York job she travels to Virginia where she almost hits a wolf standing in the road, but at least she finally see's her turnoff.
Jase and Cooper are finally about to meet the mate they have been waiting their whole lives for, but this is not going to be so easy. She has no idea about shifters, or that they are both her mates. Normally pretty reserved Hope just knows the attraction to both handsome men is out of this world.
I absolutely fell in love with the characters and the magical storyline. Surprising twists, mystery, suspense, nice humor and awesome white hot heat makes this one of those books you just don't want to put down! Wow!
I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading the next two I have a feeling they will be just as awesome!

Learning you have a grandmother who has loved you your whole life is hard on Hope, especially as she doesn’t find out until her grandmother has died. Finding out that all you have believed is nowhere near the truth is even harder. But Jase and Cooper hope they can convince Hope to give Anamchara and them a chance. I enjoyed seeing Hope Embracing Her Desires in this the first in Lynne St. James Anamchara series. Hope was a strong female who had more than most thrown at her. She learns she had a family that was murdered, she learns that shifters and other supernaturals are real, and she learns that she is the mate of not one but two werewolves. Did Hope allow her new reality to drive her crazy? No. She rolled with it, not happily, not easily but she rolled nonetheless. I love when an author gives me a strong female character that retains her strength even as she finds love, and Ms. St. James did not disappoint with Hope. I enjoyed the world she is building in this series and am looking forward to finding out what happens next as we search for who or what is coming after the residents of Anamchara.

I am so glad this is the first book in a series because I absolutely fell in love with this world and all the characters in it. Jase and Cooper are like two sides to a coin. Jase is the rugged and down to earth bar owner while Cooper is the polished and proper lawyer. Jase has a quick temper while Cooper seems to take things in before making any rash decisions. Hope seems to balance them. While she can be emotional and impulsive at times she tends to make very educated and well-thought out decisions.

The whole town of Anamchara is idyllic and picturesque and I was enamored immediately. The ending was amazing in my opinion, but the epilogue was frustrating! I need the next book now! The ending was a very tantalizing cliffhanger and I am desperate to know what happens to these characters next. I am very excited to watch both the relationship between the main characters and Hope’s powers continue to grow. An awesome first book and can’t wait for the next one.

I was so excited to get my hands on this book. I've read Lynne St. James previous series and couldn't wait to plunge into a new world of characters. As always Lynne doesn't disappoint. Hope, Jason and Cooper make an interesting and exciting pair! Their story is hot, steamy and full of magical powers that leave a reader wanting more. I can't wait for the next one in the series to come out.

This book is a must read! If you haven't read this author yet I suggest you begin with this book. Once you finish I guarantee you'll be buying all three of her previous series while waiting for book two of the Anachara series to be released.

Jase and Cooper have been waiting for Hope to come to town for a long time. Hope didn't even know Anamchara existed or how to get there. This book had a lot of story to it. I love that in a book. It explained the past and brought you to the present. This book combines fantasy and paranormal and does it quite well. I felt really bad for Hope thinking she lost family, but then she gains a whole new one. Jase and Cooper are definitely two wolves worth having around. The three together are hot.

A certified letter changes everything Hope Brookes ever believed and just when she’s starting to believe a dangerous enemy threatens everything and everyone she’s coming to care for in this bewitching paranormal fantasy romance. Although I feel that it could benefit by being a little longer, I enjoyed this charming tale from beginning to end and the author has certainly caught my interest in her magical world with some very intriguing characters and elements and I can’t wait to read the next one.

Original, delightful enjoyable read

I enjoyed this original take on shifters. Would have been 5 stars but the ending was rushed. Hope and the guys were fun to read about. The light suspense,the sexual chemistry that was built between the characters, and the unique setting all combine to make a really good story. I am going to download the next in the series now. This is a stand alone HEA story. No cliffhangers.
