Rate this book
Who is That Hero for Hire?

Nicholas Charles: He's flattered to be summoned for a meeting with his elusive boss, Samantha Spade. But flattery turns to annoyance when she won't tell him whose body he's supposed to be guarding!

Corrinne LeBlanc: Small-town girl Corinne is on the vacation of a lifetime, which is the perfect chance to play jet-setting, cosmopolitan woman. But she's not prepared for Nick. Sexy, worldly and irresistibly virile, he could blow her cover with just one kiss.

Assignment: Who knows? Apparently Nick's supposed to hang around a luxury resort, just waiting for something - anything - to happen. Then along comes Corinne with a body that's one private eyeful, and Nick decides she's a prime candidate...for something....

This book would have earned a higher rating from me had parts of it been just slightly more believable. I had a hard time with some of the characters in this book especially the ones with questionable backgrounds. Can't really say too much about them or I will give away the mystery part of the book. The story is of a private eye (or body guard shall we call him) named Nick that goes to a resort with his high powered boss. When they arrive she lets him know to just keep watch as even she doesn't know what his assignment will be. While trying to kill time until something happens he meets Cory and starts spending time with her and eventually they sleep together. When the action starts to come down Nick is left wondering if Cory is an innocent bystander or if she is mixed up in the middle of a bizarre twist of events. Personally I didn't like the way the author wrote the female character as I don't think she is an authentic representation of today's woman. I think if I was in her shoes I would have walked away instead of sticking around trying to prove my innocence.
